Feasibility Study on Recovering Human-Occupied Vehicle with An Offshore Crane

Launching and recovering human-occupied vehicles(HOVs)has always been a challenging *** current recovery process requires staff to manually complete the tethering task,which is inefficient and endangers the lives of *** paper suggests moving the recovery position from the surface to underwater at approximately half the wavelength of the water depth(30−50 m underwater),where the HOV experiences less environmental *** ROV equipped with a ultra-short baseline beacon(USBL)and a manipulator was used to complete the tethering ***,a shackle customized to the shape of the manipulator’s gripper is fitted to the end of the cable to simplify the tethering *** investigate the dynamic response of recovering the HOV using this suggested method,a comprehensive numerical model is developed in this *** effects of wind,surface waves,ocean currents,and nonlinear interaction between the installation vessel and the HOV are quantitatively *** results show that the proposed recovery method can reduce the motion amplitude of the HOV and that the wave has the greatest influence on the dynamic response of the HOV during the recovery *** model provides better insight into the proposed HOV recovery method and confirms the effectiveness of the heave compensation *** proposed approach aims to enhance safety and operational efficiency by reducing direct human involvement in the recovery process and mitigating potential *** finding holds particular significance,especially in environmentally sensitive areas,where reducing the impact on the surrounding ecosystem is crucial.

Model-based investigation on building thermal mass utilization and flexibility enhancement of air conditioning loads

Building air conditioning systems(ACs)can contribute to the stable operation of power grids by participating in peak load shaving programs,but the participants need a fast and accurate zone temperature prediction model,e.g.,the detailed room thermal-resistance(RC)model,to improve peak shaving effect and avoid obvious thermal ***,when applying the detailed room RC model to multi-zone buildings,conventional studies mostly consider the heat transfer among neighboring rooms,which contributes little to the prediction accuracy improvement,but leads to complicated model structure and heavy ***,a distributed RC model is developed for multi-zone buildings in this *** to conventional models,the proposed model considers the total heat transfer between the building and the air,and ignores the heat transfer among indoor air in neighboring rooms through internal walls with heavy thermal mass,thereby having comparable temperature prediction accuracy,simpler structure,and stronger *** on the model,the effectiveness of passive pre-cooling strategies in reducing the air conditioning loads during peak periods is *** indicate that the thermal insulation performance of opaque building envelope is quite important to the flexibility enhancement of air conditioning *** an uninsulated building envelope,passive pre-cooling is useless for the peak load *** comparison,well insulated opaque building envelope enables the building thermal mass to be utilized through passive pre-cooling,which leads to the air conditioning loads during peak periods being further reduced by about 12%.

Gaining an understanding of the growth mechanism from single atoms to clusters and bulk materials continues to present a ***,it is important to explore the evolving trends of clusters in the structure and properties during the size *** this work,we report the synthesis and characterization of two medium-sized chain-like polyarsenic anions.[As_(21)]^(3-)represents a trimeric example of polyarsenic anion assembled through oxidative coupling of As_(7)^(3-)*** anion As_(18)^(4-)included in[As_(18)MO_(2)(CO)_(8)]^(4-)is regarded as formed by two realgar-type As_(8)subunits connected by a dinuclear AsAs *** As_(18)cluster was previously predicted by theory,and this is the first time successfully synthesized using wet chemistry ***,small-sized polyarsenides As_(2)^(2-)and As_(10)^(2-)were found in compound[K(18-crown-6)]_(3)[As_(10)]_(0.5)[As_(4){Mo(CO)_(3)}_(2)]_(0.5)·*** these,the former exhibits coordination with metal ***-crystal X-ray diffraction combined with quantum chemical calculations revealed the formation of double bonded As_(2)^(2-)stabilized by metal carbonyl *** work demonstrates a novel synthetic approach for the preparation of new polyarsenides and highlights their intriguing bonding characteristics,laying the foundation for the synthesis of such compounds and paving the way for their potential applications.

Persistent greening against drying in northeast Asian semiarid grasslands:Asymmetrical responses of direct and legacy effects to intensified drought

Despite experiencing a decadal shift towards drought conditions at the end of the 2Oth century,semiarid grasslands in northeast Asia(NEA)exhibited an evident greening trend from 1982 to ***,the mechanism behind this phenomenon remains ***,we analysed the interdecadal changes in vegetation response to drought on the basis of the standardised precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPEI)and Global Inventory Modelling and Mapping Studies LAI4g datasets,with an emphasis on the differences between direct and legacy effects(as measured by resilience),to explore the mechanism of persistent grassland *** revealed that during the post-drought shift period(2000-2020),the sudden decrease in the water content of the intermediate soil layer triggered an intensified vegetation response to ***,although direct effects and resilience were amplified,they exhibited asymmetric *** was stronger than direct effects,and this difference increased with increasing drought(drought recovery)*** combined effects may account for persistent greening against intensified drying in the semiarid grasslands in *** the projected exacerbation of future droughts,this study holds notable importance for comprehending the long-term change dynamics of dryland ecosystems.

Using Copula functions to predict climatic change impacts on floods in river source regions

Flood frequency in river source regions is significantly affected by rainfall and snowmelt as part of climatic changes.A traditional univariate flood frequency analysis cannot reflect the complexity of floods,and when used in isolation,it can only underestimate flood *** effective flood prevention and mitigation,it is essential to consider the combined effects of precipitation and *** functions can effectively quantify the joint distribution relationship between floods and their associated variables without restrictions on their distribution *** study uses copula functions to consider a multivariate probability distribution model of flood peak flow(Q)with cumulative snowmelt(CSm)and cumulative precipitation(CPr)for the Hutubi River basin located in northern Xinjiang,*** joint frequencies of rainfall and snowmelt floods are predicted using copula models based on the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 *** results show that Q has a significant positive correlation with 24-d CSm(r=0.559,p=0.002)and 23-d CPr(r=0.965,p<0.05).Flood frequency will increase in the future,and mid-(2050e2074)and long-term(2075e2099)floods will be more severe than those in the near-term(2025e2049).The probability of flood occurrence is higher under the SSP2-4.5 and SSP1-2.6 scenarios than under *** during the historical period(1990e2014)led to extreme floods,and increasing future precipitation trends are found to be *** increases with rising temperatures and occurs earlier than estimated,leading to an earlier flood period in the basin and more frequent snowmelt *** Q under the joint return period is larger than that during the same univariate return *** difference indicates that neglecting the interaction between precipitation and snowmelt for floods leads to an underestimation of the flood risk(with underestimations ranging from 0.3%to 22%).The underestimations decrease with an increase

The present paper is devoted to the well-posedness issue for the 3D incompressible Hall-MHD system obtained from kinetic models. Our analysis strongly relies on the use of the Fourier analysis. We establish the global existence of smooth solutions for a class of large initial data, this result implies the initial velocity and magnetic field can be arbitrarily large.
