Cytokines are critical in regulating immune responses and cellular behavior,playing dual roles in both normal physiology and the pathology of diseases such as *** molecules,including interleukins,interferons,tumor necrosis factors,chemokines,and growth factors like TGF-β,VEGF,and EGF,can promote or inhibit tumor growth,influence the tumor microenvironment,and impact the efficacy of cancer *** advances in targeting these pathways have shown promising therapeutic potential,offering new strategies to modulate the immune system,inhibit tumor progression,and overcome resistance to conventional *** this review,we summarized the current understanding and therapeutic implications of targeting cytokine and chemokine signaling pathways in *** exploring the roles of these molecules in tumor biology and the immune response,we highlighted the development of novel therapeutic agents aimed at modulating these pathways to combat *** review elaborated on the dual nature of cytokines as both promoters and suppressors of tumorigenesis,depending on the context,and discussed the challenges and opportunities this presents for therapeutic *** also examined the latest advancements in targeted therapies,including monoclonal antibodies,bispecific antibodies,receptor inhibitors,fusion proteins,engineered cytokine variants,and their impact on tumor growth,metastasis,and the tumor ***,we evaluated the potential of combining these targeted therapies with other treatment modalities to overcome resistance and improve patient ***,we also focused on the ongoing research and clinical trials that are pivotal in advancing our understanding and application of cytokine-and chemokine-targeted therapies for cancer patients.

Immunotherapy,particularly with immune checkpoint inhibitors,has significantly transformed cancer *** its success,many patients struggle to respond adequately or sustain long-lasting clinical improvement.A growing consensus has emerged that radiotherapy(RT)enhances the response rate and overall efficacy of *** combining RT and immunotherapy has been extensively investigated in preclinical models and has shown promising results,establishing itself as a dynamic and thriving area of research,clinical evidence for this combination strategy over the past five years has shown both positive and disappointing results,suggesting the need for a more nuanced *** review provides a balanced and updated analysis of the combination of immunotherapy and *** summarized the preclinical mechanisms through which RT boosts antitumor immune responses andmainly focused on the outcomes of recently updated clinical trials,including those that may not have met *** investigated the optimization of the therapeutic potential of this combined strategy,including key challenges,such as fractionation and scheduling,lymph node irradiation,and ***,we offered insights into the prospects and challenges associated with the clinical translation of this combination therapy,providing a realistic perspective on the current state of research and potential future directions.

Noble metal surfaces with intrinsic chirality serve as an ideal candidate for investigating enantioselective chemistry due to their superior chemical durability and high catalytic ***,significant advance has been made in synthesizing metal nanocrystals with intrinsic ***,the majority reports are limited to ***,through a heteroepitaxial growth strategy,the synthesis of metal nanocrystals with intrinsic chirality to palladium was extended for the first time and their application in enantioselective recognition was *** heteroepitaxial growth strategy allows for transferring the chirality of homochiral Au nanocrystals to Au@Pd core–shell *** employing the chiral Au@Pd nanocrystals as enantiomeric recognizing elements,a series of electrochemical sensors for chiral discrimination were *** optimal conditions,the peak potential between D-dihydroxyphenylalanine(D-DOPA)and L-dihydroxyphenylalanine(L-DOPA)is about 80 m V,and the peak current of D-DOPA is 2 times as much as that of L-DOPA,which enables the determination of the enantiomeric excess(EE,%)of ***,this report not only introduces a heteroepitaxial growth strategy to synthesize metal nanocrystals with intrinsic chirality,but also demonstrates the superior capability of integrating intrinsic chirality and catalytic properties into metal nanocrystals for chiral recognition.

Application of horticulture therapy as a health intervention for elderly people in nursing homes:a scoping review

Objective:To review the scope of interventional studies on horticultural therapy(HT)applied to elderly people in nursing institutions to support the efficient implementation of HT among this target ***:In accordance with the scoping review framework proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI),the Pub Med,JSTOR,Web of Science,CNKI,and Wanfang databases were *** from the retrieved literature were summarized and ***:In all,18 studies were included in this *** target population groups of interventions included self-supporting elderly people,cognitively impaired elderly people,elderly people with negative emotions,and elderly people with frailty living in nursing *** interventions,including planting,craft activities,derivative activities,and outdoor viewing activities,are implemented indoors,outdoors,or in mixed *** most common duration of the intervention was 8 weeks,the most common frequency was once per week,and the most common session duration was 60 ***:The measurements used in HT interventions included assessments of physical,psycho-mental,and social health;quality of life;and activity *** studies should include partially dependent groups and completely dependent groups of elderly individuals,interventions that last at least 6 months,scientifically designed activity intensity and safety-guarantee plans,and outcomeevaluation indicators such as compliance and intervention benefits.

Multi-scale persistent spatiotemporal transformer for long-term urban traffic flow prediction

Long-term urban traffic flow prediction is an important task in the field of intelligent transportation,as it can help optimize traffic management and improve travel *** improve prediction accuracy,a crucial issue is how to model spatiotemporal dependency in urban traffic *** recent years,many studies have adopted spatiotemporal neural networks to extract key information from traffic ***,most models ignore the semantic spatial similarity between long-distance areas when mining spatial *** also ignore the impact of predicted time steps on the next unpredicted time step for making long-term ***,these models lack a comprehensive data embedding process to represent complex spatiotemporal *** paper proposes a multi-scale persistent spatiotemporal transformer(MSPSTT)model to perform accurate long-term traffic flow prediction in *** adopts an encoder-decoder structure and incorporates temporal,periodic,and spatial features to fully embed urban traffic data to address these *** model consists of a spatiotemporal encoder and a spatiotemporal decoder,which rely on temporal,geospatial,and semantic space multi-head attention modules to dynamically extract temporal,geospatial,and semantic *** spatiotemporal decoder combines the context information provided by the encoder,integrates the predicted time step information,and is iteratively updated to learn the correlation between different time steps in the broader time range to improve the model’s accuracy for long-term *** on four public transportation datasets demonstrate that MSPSTT outperforms the existing models by up to 9.5%on three common metrics.

Effective monitoring of the structural health of combined coal-rock under complex geological conditions by pressure stimulated currents(PSCs)has great potential for the understanding of dynamic disasters in underground *** reveal the effect of this way,the uniaxial compression experiments with PSC monitoring were conducted on three types of coal-rock combination samples with different strength *** mechanism explanation of PSCs are investigated by resistivity test,atomic force microscopy(AFM)and computed tomography(CT)methods,and a PSC flow model based on progressive failure process is *** influence of strength combinations on PSCs in the progressive failure process are *** results show the PSC responses between rock part,coal part and the two components are different,which are affected by multi-scale fracture characteristics and electrical *** the rock strength decreases,the progressive failure process changes obviously with the influence range of interface constraint effect decreasing,resulting in the different responses of PSC strength and direction in different parts to fracture *** PSC flow model is initially validated by the relationship between the accumulated charges of different *** results are expected to provide a new reference and method for mining design and roadway quality assessment.

Rock failure can cause serious geological disasters,and the non-extensive statistical features of electric potential(EP)are expected to provide valuable information for disaster *** this paper,the uniaxial compression experiments with EP monitoring were carried out on fine sandstone,marble and granite samples under four displacement *** Tsallis entropy q value of EPs is used to analyze the selforganization evolution of rock *** the influence of displacement rate and rock type on q value are explored by mineral structure and fracture modes.A self-organized critical prediction method with q value is *** results show that the probability density function(PDF)of EPs follows the q-Gaussian *** displacement rate is positively correlated with q *** the displacement rate increasing,the fracture mode changes,the damage degree intensifies,and the microcrack network becomes *** influence of rock type on q value is related to the burst intensity of energy release and the crack fracture *** q value of EPs can be used as an effective prediction index for rock failure like b value of acoustic emission(AE).The results provide useful reference and method for the monitoring and early warning of geological disasters.

Reconstruction of biomimetic ionic channels within covalent organic frameworks for ultrafast and selective uranyl capture

The efficient extraction of uranium,as the primary component of nuclear energy,holds significant *** inspiration from the charge interaction observed in biological ion channels,we encapsulated negatively charged polystyrene sulfonate(PSS)or sodium polystyrene carboxylate(PVBA)into the nanochannels of amidoxime functionalized covalent organic framework(COF-AO)in-situ to alter the cavity environment of *** synthesized COF-AO-PSS and COF-AO-PVBA are used for ultra-fast and highly selective uranium *** negatively charged PSS/PVBA was confined in the COF-AO channel providing the driving force for uranium transport and blocking other ions,thus creating a highly selective“uranium highway”.Additionally,introducing sulfonate groups or carboxyl groups into COF-AO offers supplementary coordination environments and weak interactions with *** to charge-assisted migration and various interaction mechanisms,both COF-AO-PSS and COF-AO-PVBA exhibit faster adsorption kinetics and higher selectivity compared to COF-AO *** adsorption capacities are 3.8 times and 2.4 times that of COF-AO alone respectively which highlights the necessity for constructing biomimetic ion channels in uranium adsorption *** work presents a bionic adsorbent based on covalent organic frameworks(COFs)for the first time,overcoming environmental and equipment limitations associated with traditional photocatalysis and electrocatalysis methods for uranium capture,opening up new avenues for designing multifunctional materials that mimic biological systems.
