Understanding of animal spatial behavior is essential for informed management *** southern Africa,reintroduction of lions(Panthera leo)to small reserves(60 separate visits)around the largest dam and along rivers suggest the importance of water and its surrounding vegetation in the lions’space utilization *** home range size did not differ with season or sex of the individuals,whereas shifts in locations of home ranges revealed differences in the response of the 2 sexes to territorial conflicts and management *** study shows a dynamic home range utilization pattern and highlights the importance of both fine-scale space use patterns(frequency and duration of visits)and broadscale home range changes in understanding the ranging behavior of reintroduced animals.

Large-scale key-value stores are widely used in many Web-based systems to store huge amount of data as(key, value) pairs. In order to reduce the latency of accessing such(key, value) pairs, an in-memory cache system is usually deployed between the front-end Web system and the back-end database system. In practice, a cache system may consist of a number of server nodes, and fault tolerance is a critical feature to maintain the latency Service-Level Agreements(SLAs). In this paper, we present the design, implementation, analysis, and evaluation of R-Memcached, a reliable in-memory key-value cache system that is built on top of the popular Memcached software. R-Memcached exploits coding techniques to achieve reliability, and can tolerate up to two node *** experimental results show that R-Memcached can maintain very good latency and throughput performance even during the period of node failures.

The management of blunt renal trauma has been evolving. The past management largely based on American Association for Surgery of Trauma （AAST） grading system, i.e. necessitated a computed tomography （CT） scan. Although the CT scan use is increasing and becomes the standardized mode of investigation, AAST grading no longer plays the sole role in the decision of surgical interventions. Two case reports of blunt renal trauma managed successfully by conservative methods are presented. Case one was an 18 year-old boy who had a fall when riding a motorbike at 20 km/h with a helmet and full protective equipments. He was landed by his left flank onto a rock. Contrast abdominal CT revealed a 4 era, grade III splenic tear and a grade IV left kidney injury with large perirenal haematoma. His international severity score （ISS） was 34. He was managed conservatively with bed rest and frequent serum haemoglobin monitoring. Subsequent CT with delayed contrast revealed stable perirenal haematoma with urine extravasation which was consistent with a grade IV renal injury. Case two was a 40 year-old male who had a motor bike accident on a racetrack when he was driving at 80 to 100 km/h, wearing a helmet. He lost control and hit onto the sidewall of the racetrack. Contrast abdominal CT revealed a grade IV left renal injury with a large urine extravasation. His renal injury was managed conservatively with interval delayed phase CT of the abdomen. A repeat CT on abdomen was performed five months after the initial injury which revealed no residual urinoma. In this study, moreover, a review of the literature to the management of blunt renal trauma was conducted to demonstrate the trend of increasing conservative management of such traumas. Extra radiological parameters may guide future decision making. However, the applicability of data may be limited until randomized trials are available.

In Part 2 of the paper on the Smart-Cut process, the effects of bonding flaws characterized by the size and internal pressure before and after splitting are studied by using fracture mechanics models. It is found that the bonding flaws with large size are prone to cause severe deviation of defect growth, leading to a non-transferred area of thin layer when splitting. In a practical Smart-Cut process where the internal pressure of bonding flaws is very small, large interfacial defects always promote defect growth in the splitting process. Meanwhile, increasing the internal pressure of the bonding flaws decreases the defect growth and its deviation before splitting. The mechanism of relaxation of stiffener constraint is proposed to clarify the effect of bonding flaws. Moreover, the progress of the splitting process is analyzed when bonding flaws are present. After splitting, those bonding flaws with large size and high internal pressure are vulnerable for the blistering of the thin film during high-temperature annealing.

This paper addresses the effect of leakage on the natural frequencies of a large amplitude vibrating panel backed by a cavity, which has not been considered in many other related studies. The structural-acoustic governing equations are employed to study this nonlinear problem. An elliptical integral method, which was recently developed for the nonlinear panel cavity problem, is introduced here to solve for the structural-acoustics responses. The present results agree reasonably well with those obtained from the classical harmonic balance method. Modal convergences of the nonlinear solutions are performed to verify the proposed method. The effects of vibration amplitude and leakage size are studied and discussed. It is found that （1） the edge leakages in a panel cavity system significantly affect the natural frequency properties, and （2） the edge leakages induce a low frequency acoustic resonance.

In the present paper, continuum fracture mechanics is used to analyze the Smart-Cut process, a recently established ion cut technology which enables highly efficient fabrication of various silicon-on-insulator （SOI） wafers of high uniformity in thickness. Using integral transform and Cauchy singular integral equation methods, the mode-I and mode-II stress intensity factors, energy release rate, and crack opening displacements are derived in order to examine several important fracture mechanisms involved in the Smart-Cut process. The effects of defect interaction and stiffening wafer on defect growth are investigated. The numerical results indi- cate that a stiffener/handle wafer can effectively prevent the donor wafer from blistering and exfoliation, but it slows down the defect growth by decreasing the magnitudes of SIF＇s. Defect interaction also plays an important role in the splitting process of SOI wafers, but its contribution depends strongly on the size, interval and internal pressure of defects. Finally, an analytical formula is derived to estimate the implantation dose required for splitting a SOI wafer.

The scattering of Love waves by an interface crack between apiezoelectric layers and an elas- tic substrate is investigated byusing the integral transform and singular integral equationtechniques. The dy- namic stress intensity factors of the left andthe right crack tips are determined. It is found from numericalcalculation that the dynamic response of the system dependssignificantly on the crack configuration, the ma- terial combinationand the propagating direction of the incident wave. It is expectedthat specifying an appro- priate material combination may retard thegrowth of the crack for a certain crack configuration.
