Variations and trends of trans-boundary runoff in the longitudinal range-gorge region

The mountainous hydrological process usually shows high variation to climate change and human action. In the Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region（LRGR）, Southwestern China and Southeast Asian, the transboundary runoff variations are much more sensitive and complex under the interaction of climate change, ＂corridor-barrier＂ functions in LRGR,and dams building. In this paper, based on the long hydrological records（1956-2013） from three mainstream hydrological stations in Nu River,Lancang River, and Red River, the region runoff variations were analyzed. The results show out： i） the regional runoff changes were strongly influenced by the ＂Corridor-Barrier＂ functions in LRGR from west to east, the variability extent of annual runoff increased, but tended to decrease after 2009 and the reduced extents also increased; ii） the annual runoff change in the three rivers had high concentration degrees; iii） there were periodicities of 33 years of runoff change in Nu River and Lancang River, and 30 years in Red River, and the lower flow period would continue for 8-9 years in Nu River and Lancang River but only for 4 years in Red River; iv） since 2010, as the two mega dams of Xiaowan and Nuozhadu built in Lancang River mainstream, their variations of annual runoff were quite different. The research results could offer a scientific base for sustainable utilization,conservation, and management of the regional water resources

Tubular members subject to combined pitting corrosion and crack damage were numerically studied to clarify the reduction of ultimate strength and failure behavior,based on numerical models validated against available *** effects of length,location and inclined angle of a crack under combined damage were studied to disclose the mechanism of interaction between the crack and corrosion *** methods,named as linear superposition directly accumulating the effects of solo crack and solo pitting damage,as well as crack projection transferring an inclined crack to a transverse one,were discussed and verified in the view of assessing ultimate strength of tubular members with combined *** was shown that the former is practical but complex while the next always over-estimates the residual ***,the location and inclined angle of a crack have a subtle effect on the reduction of ultimate strength under combined damage,especially at higher level of pitting damage,due to the synergistic effect between corrosion pits and *** effect can lead to early occurrence of plasticity and local buckling by inducing stress interaction between crack tips and pits,and causing more significant strength reduction compared with a solo type of damage.A practical method was proposed to determine the loss ratio of cross-sectional area on the equivalent weakest section of a damaged *** on the loss ratio,a formula was presented to predict the ultimate strength of damaged members with combined damage,showing good applicability.

For many years,surgical treatment of buried penis in children has been researched by several scholars,and numerous methods *** study aimed to explore the clinical effect of a modified fixation technique in treating buried penis in *** data of 94 patients with buried penis who were treated using the modified penile fixation technique from March 2017 to February 2019 in Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital(Fuzhou,China)were retrospectively collected,compared,and *** data of 107 patients with buried penis who were treated using traditional penile fixation technique from February 2014 to February 2017 were chosen for *** results showed that at 6 months and 12 months after surgery,the penile lengths in the modified penile fixation group were longer than those in the traditional penile fixation group(both P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative skin contracture and penile retraction in the modified penile fixation group was less than that in the traditional penile fixation group(P=0.034 and P=0.012,respectively).When the two groups were compared in terms of parents'satisfaction scores,the scores for penile size,penile morphology,and voiding status in the modified penile fixation group were higher than those in the traditional penile fixation group at 2-week,6-month,and 12-month follow-ups after surgery(all P<0.05).We concluded that the modified penile fixation technique could effectively reduce the incidence of skin contracture and penile retraction and improve the penile length and satisfaction of patients'parents.

Volatile organic compounds （VOCs） play ,an important role in ozone and secondary organic aerosol （SOA） formation, but VOCs sources during winter are not fully understood. To investigate VOCs sources during winter, mixing ratios of C2-C12 VOCs were measured at an urban site in Beijing from December 29, 2011 to January 17, 2012. Correlation analysis of toluene to benzene and i-pentane to n-pentane suggest that coal combustion could also be an important source for VOCs besides vehicular emissions. Source apportionment results show that coal combustion and vehicular emissions contributed 28%-39% and 31%-45% to ambient VOCs during winter, respectively. Backward trajectory analyses demonstrated that contributions from the burning of coal were higher when air masses came from southern regions outside Beijing. Close attention should be paid to VOCs emissions from coal combustion in Beijing city and the vicinity to the South.

Duodenal adenocarcinoma, especially duodenal bulb with neuroendocrine features(NEF), is extremely rare. Here, we report one such case of duodenal bulb adenocarcinoma with neuroendocrine features. A 63-year-old Han Chinese woman was admitted to our department with the diagnosis of a duodenal bulb polyp and underwent an endoscopic mucosal resection. The pathological findings confirmed it as duodenal bulb adenocarcinoma with NEF. The patient remains curative after one and half a years of follow-up. Duodenal adenocarcinoma with NEF might be a low malignant neuroendocrine tumor rather than a conventional adenocarcinoma. Endoscopic treatment, including endoscopic mucosal resection, might be an ideal option for the adenocarcinomas with NEF.

Two series, totalizing twelve, of new compounds, ethyl 1-aroyl/aroylmethyl-5-methyl-3- methylthiopyrazole-4-carboxylates 5/6, have been synthesized via highly regioselective acylation and alkylation of ethyl 3-methyl-5-methylthio-1H- pyrazole-4-carboxylate 2a with aroyl chloride 3 and alpha-tosyloxysubstitutedacetophenones 4. Unexpected structures of the product have been unambiguously determined by both X-ray crystallographic analysis and 2D NMR.

The study of protein folding is fundamental and important in the multidisciplinary field because a diversity of diseases,like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s are relevant to protein *** current thermodynamic and geometric approaches only phenomenologically describe but do not provide a mechanistic understanding of the competition between correct folding and *** we present a model to understand the misfolding *** the influence of dissipative strength for all possible sequences and comparing the folding time toward different compact structures,we obtain a phase diagram of the dissipative quantum phase transition that enables us to model the *** also investigate how a perturbation in the Hamiltonian affects the transition point,which motivates us to explore possible manual *** results indicate that the manual intervention may be effective for some specific sequence but not for *** approach is expected to lay a foundation for further studies on manual intervention in protein misfolding.

Herein,we designed and constructed a mesoporous LaAlOx via a solvent evaporation induced self-assembly *** structure and physicochemical property of the corresponding NiMo supported catalyst was analyzed by a set of characterizations,and its catalytic activity was investigated for hydrodesulfurization(HDS)of 4,*** has confirmed that the incorporation of La profoundly facilitate the generation of“Type II”NiMoS phase by weakening the interaction of Mo–O–Al leakage and promoting the sulfidation of both Ni and Mo oxides as well as changing the morphology of Ni promoted MoS2 slabs,thereafter boosting the HDS performance *** finding here may contribute to the fundamental understanding of structure-activity in ultra-deep desulfurization and inspire the advancement of highly-efficient HDS catalyst in future.

The determination of the local cooling rate has a great significance in optimizing the parameters of electroslag remelting(ESR)and improving the quality of the *** innovative method was proposed for calibrating the local cooling rate of M42 high-speed steel(HSS)in the ESR *** resolidification at different cooling rates under high-temperature laser confocal microscopy,the carbide network spacing of the specimen was observed using a scanning electron microscope.A functional relationship between the cooling rate and average carbide network spacing was *** average local cooling rate of the solidification process of the M42 HSS ingot was *** results show that the higher the cool-ing rate,the smaller the network spacing of the *** the steel ingot with a diameter of 360 mm,the average local cooling rate was 0.562℃/s at the surface,0.057℃/s at the position of 0.25D(where D is the diameter of the ingot),and 0.046℃/s at the center of the ingot.
