A many-objective evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition with dynamic resource allocation for irregular optimization

The multi-objective optimization problem has been encountered in numerous fields such as high-speed train head shape design,overlapping community detection,power dispatch,and unmanned aerial vehicle formation.To address such issues,current approaches focus mainly on problems with regular Pareto front rather than solving the irregular Pareto front.Considering this situation,we propose a many-objective evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition with dynamic resource allocation(Ma OEA/D-DRA)for irregular optimization.The proposed algorithm can dynamically allocate computing resources to different search areas according to different shapes of the problem’s Pareto front.An evolutionary population and an external archive are used in the search process,and information extracted from the external archive is used to guide the evolutionary population to different search regions.The evolutionary population evolves with the Tchebycheff approach to decompose a problem into several subproblems,and all the subproblems are optimized in a collaborative manner.The external archive is updated with the method of rithms using a variety of test problems with irregular Pareto front.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithèm out-p￡performs these five algorithms with respect to convergence speed and diversity of population members.By comparison with the weighted-sum approach and penalty-based boundary intersection approach,there is an improvement in performance after integration of the Tchebycheff approach into the proposed algorithm.

An approximate analytical model for unconventional reservoir considering variable matrix blocks and simultaneous matrix depletion

In regard to unconventional oil reservoirs,the transient dual-porosity and triple-porosity models have been adopted to describe the fluid flow in the complex fracture network.It has been proven to cause inaccurate production evaluations because of the absence of matrix-macrofracture communication.In addition,most of the existing models are solved analytically based on Laplace transform and numerical inversion.Hence,an approximate analytical solution is derived directly in real-time space considering variable matrix blocks and simultaneous matrix depletion.To simplify the derivation,the simultaneous matrix depletion is divided into two parts:one part feeding the macrofractures and the other part feeding the microfractures.Then,a series of partial differential equations(PDEs)describing the transient flow and boundary conditions are constructed and solved analytically by integration.Finally,a relationship between oil rate and production time in real-time space is obtained.The new model is verified against classical analytical models.When the microfracture system and matrix-macrofracture communication is neglected,the result of the new model agrees with those obtained with the dual-porosity and triple-porosity model,respectively.Certainly,the new model also has an excellent agreement with the numerical model.The model is then applied to two actual tight oil wells completed in western Canada sedimentary basin.After identifying the flow regime,the solution suitably matches the field production data,and the model parameters are determined.Through these output parameters,we can accurately forecast the production and even estimate the petrophysical properties.

Main controlling factor and mechanism of gas-in-place content of the Lower Cambrian shale from different sedimentary facies in the western Hubei area, South China

The Lower Cambrian shale gas in the western Hubei area, South China has a great resource prospect, but the gas-in-place（GIP） content in different sedimentary facies varies widely, and the relevant mechanism has been not well understood. In the present study, two sets of the Lower Cambrian shale samples from the Wells YD4 and YD5 in the western Hubei area, representing the deep-water shelf facies and shallowwater platform facies, respectively, were investigated on the differences of pore types, pore structure and methane adsorption capacity between them, and the main controlling factor and mechanism of their methane adsorption capacities and GIP contents were discussed. The results show that the organic matter（OM） pores in the YD4 shale samples are dominant, while the inorganic mineral（IM） pores in the YD5 shale samples are primary, with underdeveloped OM pores. The pore specific surface area（SSA） and pore volume（PV） of the YD4 shale samples are mainly from micropores and mesopores, respectively,while those of the YD5 shale samples are mainly from micropores and macropores, respectively. The methane adsorption capacity of the YD4 shale samples is significantly higher than that of the YD5 shale samples, with a maximum absolute adsorption capacity of 3.13 cm3/g and 1.31 cm3/g in average,respectively. Compared with the shallow-water platform shale, the deep-water shelf shale has a higher TOC content, a better kerogen type and more developed OM pores, which is the main mechanism for its higher adsorption capacity. The GIP content models based on two samples with a similar TOC content selected respectively from the Wells YD4 and YD5 further indicate that the GIP content of the deep-water shelf shale is mainly 3 4 m3/t within a depth range of 1000—4000 m, with shale gas exploration and development potential, while the shallow-water platform shale has normally a GIP content of <1 m3/t,with little shale gas potential. Viral encephalitis continues to be a significant public health concern.In our previous study,we discovered a lower expression of antiviral factors,such as IFN-β,STING and IFI16,in the brain tissues of patients with Rasmussen's encephalitis(RE),a rare chronic neurological disorder often occurred in children,characterized by unihemispheric brain atrophy.Furthermore,a higher cumulative viral score of human herpes viruses(HHVs)was also found to have a significant positive correlation with the unihemispheric atrophy in RE.Type I IFNs(IFN-I)signaling is essential for innate anti-infection response by binding to IFN-α/βreceptor(IFNAR).In this study,we infected WT mice and IFNAR-deficient A6 mice with herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1)via periocular injection to investigate the relationship between IFN-I signaling and HHVs-induced brain lesions.While all mice exhibited typical viral encephalitis lesions in their brains,HSV-induced epilepsy was only observed in A6 mice.The gene expression matrix,functional enrichment analysis and protein-protein interaction network revealed four gene models that were positively related with HSV-induced epilepsy.Additionally,ten key genes with the highest scores were identified.Taken together,these findings indicate that intact IFN-I signaling can effectively limit HHVs induced neural symptoms and brain lesions,thereby confirming the positive correlation between IFN-I signaling repression and brain atrophy in RE and other HHVs encephalitis.

Method for triangular fuzzy multiple attribute decision making based on two-dimensional density operator method

Aiming at the triangular fuzzy(TF)multi-attribute decision making(MADM)problem with a preference for the distribution density of attribute(DDA),a decision making method with TF number two-dimensional density(TFTD)operator is proposed based on the density operator theory for the decision maker(DM).Firstly,a simple TF vector clustering method is proposed,which considers the feature of TF number and the geometric distance of vectors.Secondly,the least deviation sum of squares method is used in the program model to obtain the density weight vector.Then,two TFTD operators are defined,and the MADM method based on the TFTD operator is proposed.Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the superiority of this method,which can not only solve the TF MADM problem with a preference for the DDA but also help the DM make an overall comparison.

Copper-coated Porous Polyimide as Ultralight and Safe Current Collectors for Advanced LIBs

Metallic copper is widely used as current collector(CC) for graphite anode of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) due to its high electrical conductivity and electrochemical stability. However, the large volume density of commercial copper foil(~8.9 g·cm^(-3)) limits the increase of energy density of battery. Here, copper-coated porous polyimide(Cu@PPI) was prepared by vacuum evaporation as collector for the graphite anode. The sandwich structure connects the copper metal on both sides of the collector with excellent electrical conductivity. Compared to commercial Cu foil, Cu@PPI has lighter mass(≤3.9 mg for disc of 12 mm diameter versus 9.9 mg of ~10 μm Cu foil) and lower volume density(≤3.3 g·cm^(-3)). In addition, the porous structure allows of better adhesion of reactive substances and electrochemical properties than pure Cu foils. It is estimated that the energy density of Cu@PPI should be much higher than that of Cu foil. This strategy should be applicable for other current collectors.

Nanocrystalline WSe_(2)excels at high-performance anode for Na storage via a facile one-pot hydrothermal method

For the next large-scale energy storage systems,sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)with excellent electrochemical performance are promising.However,the exploration of anode materials with high specific capacity,fascinating cycling stability and rate capability is still restricted.Among transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs),tungsten diselenide(WSe_(2))has been regarded as an effective anode material for SIBs and has been extensively studied,due to high theoretical capacity and unique twodimensional layered structure.Herein,nanocrystalline WSe_(2)is prepared by a facile one-pot hydrothermal method.Compared with the micro-scale WSe_(2),benefiting from the high specific surface area of highly ordered nano-flake structures and short ion/electron transport paths,nanocrystalline WSe_(2)shows excellent electrochemical performance in Na storage.After 1000 cycles at a current density of 2 A·g^(-1),a high specific capacity of 264.4 mA·h·g^(-1)is still maintained.The full cell matched with the Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3) cathode can deliver an excellent reversible specific capacity of 196.5 mA·h·g^(-1)after 100 cycles at 0.5 A·g^(-1).

Polarizable Additive with Intermediate Chelation Strength for Stable Aqueous Zinc‑Ion Batteries

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are promising due to inherent safety,low cost,low toxicity,and high volumetric capacity.However,issues of dendrites and side reactions between zinc metal anode and the electrolyte need to be solved for extended storage and cycle life.Here,we proposed that an electrolyte additive with an intermediate chelation strength of zinc ion—strong enough to exclude water molecules from the zinc metal-electrolyte interface and not too strong to cause a significant energy barrier for zinc ion dissociation—can benefit the electrochemical stability by suppressing hydrogen evolution reaction,overpotential growth,and den-drite formation.Penta-sodium diethylene-triaminepentaacetic acid salt was selected for such a purpose.It has a suitable chelating ability in aqueous solutions to adjust solvation sheath and can be readily polarized under electrical loading conditions to further improve the passivation.Zn||Zn symmetric cells can be stably operated over 3500 h at 1 mA cm^(-2).Zn||NH4V4O10 full cells with the additive show great cycling stability with 84.6%capacity retention after 500 cycles at 1 A g^(-1).Since the additive not only reduces H2 evolution and corrosion but also modifies Zn2+diffusion and deposition,highlyreversible Zn electrodes can be achieved as verified by the experimental results.Our work offers a practical approach to the logical design of reliable electrolytes for high-performance aqueous batteries.

Investigating the Absorption and Desorption Behavior of Methylene Chloride in the Poly(aryl ether ketone) Film with Different Crystallinities

Poly(aryl ether keton e)(PAEK) films with different crystallinities were obtained by controlling the cooling rate,which were subjected to the absorption and desorption of methylene chloride(CH_(2)Cl_(2)).We employed attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR)spectroscopy analyses to investigate the diffusion behavior of CH_(2)Cl_(2) in PAEK films with different crystallinities.According to the Fickian diffusion model,the calculated diffu sion coefficients of CH_(2)Cl_(2) in PAEK films were observed to decrease with increasing crystallinity.The effect of CH_(2)Cl_(2)absorption and desorption on the mechanical properties of PAEK films with different crystallinity was further analyzed using tensile tests.The tensile tests exhibited that CH_(2)Cl_(2) has two concurrent effects:plasticization and solvent-induced crystallization.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction(WXRD) techniques further confirmed solvent-induced crystallization behavior.The results would be beneficial to understand the solvent resistance of PAEK materials and consequently provide the practical application conditions of PAEK with a theoretical basis.

Quantitative studies on charcoalification:Physical and chemical changes of charring wood

Charcoal is commonly preserved in both natural and artificial sediments,and is intensively used in paleontological,paleoenvironmental,and archaeological studies due to the abundant bio-information it contains.The biochemical properties of charcoal are also used for paleoclimatic reconstruction;however,the reliability of this approach has been challenged due to a lack of clarity on how physicochemical properties change during the charring process,as well as the temperatures required for charcoalification.To address this lack,in this study,Qinghai spruce and Chinese pine wood samples from the northeastern Tibetan Plateau were heated at different temperatures and for different lengths of time under restricted oxygen conditions.The reflectance;carbon,nitrogen,and oxygen content;and tracheid morphology were quantified before and after heating to assess changes related to the charring process.Archaeological charcoal remains were then evaluated to determine the charcoalification temperatures by comparing with the experimental results.The minimum temperature required for wood charcoalification was∼300℃,while temperatures recorded by archaeological charcoal were concentrated at 400-500℃.During the charring experiments,the tracheid cell walls gradually homogenized,and tracheid cell wall thickness and lumen area decreased by∼20%.On average,50%mass losses were observed;the carbon and oxygen content(%wt.)approximately changed from 47%to 60%and 48%to 35%respectively,while the nitrogen content(%wt.)fluctuated around 0.2%.The reflectance increased slightly from 0%to 0.5%.We propose that the charcoalification of wood tissue refers to charring(in restricted air)and carbonization(in the almost absence of air)when the wood is exposed to a heat source,which then finally transforms into a black,inert solid.This quantitative study provided valuable data and a thorough assessment of the process of wood charcoalification,as well as accurately estimated the feasibility of using charcoal physicochemical properties in paleoclimatic research
