Analysis of imbibition of n-alkanes in kerogen slits by molecular dynamics simulation for characterization of shale oil rocks

Shale oil formations contain both inorganic and organic media.The organic matter holds both free oil in the pores and dissolved oil within the kerogen molecules.The free oil flow in organic pores and the dissolved oil diffusion in kerogen molecules are coupled together.The molecular flow of free n-alkanes is an important process of shale oil accumulation and production.To study the dynamics of imbibition process of n-alkane molecules into kerogen slits,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations are conducted.Effects of slit width,temperature,and n-alkane types on the penetration speed,dynamic contact angle,and molecular conformations were analyzed.Results showed that molecular transportation of n-alkanes is dominated by molecular structure and molecular motion at this scale.The space-confinement conformational changes of molecules slow down the filling speeds in the narrow slits.The n-alkane molecules with long carbon chains require more time to undergo conformational changes.The high content of short-chain alkanes and high temperature facilitate the flow of alkane mixtures in kerogen slits.Results obtained from this study are useful for understanding the underlying nanoscale flow mechanism in shale formations.

Failure analysis of crevice corrosion on 304 stainless steel tube heat exchanger

The cause of the premature failure of 304 stainless steel tube heat exchanger was investigated.The unique skeleton structure inside the leakage point reveals that this is a new damage mechanism caused by a δ+γ two-phase structure and crevice corrosion.The three-dimensional structure of the leakage point was demonstrated using X-ray diffraction topography.The results of scanning electron microscope examination show the microstructure of the weld to be columnar and dendritic.It is found by electron probe microscope analysis and transmission electron microscopy that columnar dendrites consisted of γ-dendrite and an amount of δ-ferrite phases at the dendrite trunk.Simulated corrosion test results confirmed that the corrosion medium was the chloride ion.Crevice corrosion of chloride ions occurred at weld defects on the inner wall thus forming a concentration cell.Grains of columnar dendrites were then corroded by chloride ions and δ-ferrite phases on the grain boundaries were retained,which formed the particular skeleton corrosion structure.As a result,it led to leakage when the corrosion of weld occurred from the inner wall to the outer wall.

Temperature/salt tolerance and oil recovery of xanthan gum solution enhanced by surface-modified nanosilicas

Amide-and alkyl-modified nanosilicas(AANPs)were synthesized and introduced into Xanthan gum(XG)solution,aiming to improve the temperature/salt tolerance and oil recovery.The rheological behaviors of XG/AANP hybrid dispersions were systematically studied at different concentrations,temperatures and inorganic salts.At high temperature(75C)and high salinity(10,000 mg,L1 NaCl),AANPs increase the apparent viscosity and dynamic modulus of the XG solution,and XG/AANP hybrid dispersion exhibits elastic-dominant properties.The most effective concentrations of XG and AANP interacting with each other are 1750 mg·L^(-1) and 0.74 wt%,respectively.The temperature tolerance of XG solution is not satisfactory,and high temperature further weakens the salt tolerance of XG.However,the AANPs significantly enhance the viscoelasticity the XG solution through hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic effect.Under reservoir conditions,XG/AANP hybrid recovers approximately 18.5%more OOIP(original oil in place)than AANP and 11.3%more OOIP than XG.The enhanced oil recovery mechanism of the XG/AANP hybrid is mainly increasing the sweep coefficient,the contribution from the reduction of oil-water interfacial tension is less.

Overview of deep space laser communication

The deep space probe is a vital technology for observing and exploring the universe. It is thus intensifying as an aerospace research focus on an international scale. Despite improving the frequency band,the conventional microwave communication technique has difficulty satisfying the increased demand for the enormous volume of scientific data returning to the Earth. With a carrier frequency that is several orders of magnitude higher than the microwave, free-space optical communication is a robust and promising method for achieving both high bit rates and long distances in deep space communication. In this article, the history of this technology is summarized and the objective laws are formulated, while key techniques and development trends are analyzed. Finally, useful concepts and suggestions are proposed for the development of deep space laser communication in China.

Subsection and superposition method for reservoir formation damage evaluation of complex-structure wells

Kinds of complex-structure wells can effectively improve production,which are widely used.However,in the process of drilling and completion,complex-structure wells with long drilling cycle and large exposed area of reservoir can lead to the fact that reservoir near wellbore is more vulnerable to the working fluid invasion,resulting in more serious formation damage.In order to quantitatively describe the reservoir formation damage in the construction of complex-structure well,taking the inclined well section as the research object,the coordinate transformation method and conformal transformation method are given according to the flow characteristics of reservoir near wellbore in anisotropic reservoir.Then the local skin factor in orthogonal plane of wellbore is deduced.Considering the un-even distribution of local skin factor along the wellbore,the oscillation decreasing model and empirical equation model of damage zone radius distribution along the wellbore direction are established and then the total skin factor model of the whole well is superimposed to realize the reservoir damage evaluation of complex-structure wells.Combining the skin factor model with the production model,the production of complex-structure wells can be predicted more accurately.The two field application cases show that the accuracy of the model can be more than 90%,which can also fully reflect the invasion characteristics of drilling and completion fluid in any well section of complex-structure wells in anisotropic reservoir,so as to further provide guidance for the scientific establish-ment of reservoir production system.

Novel long non-coding RNA LINC02532 promotes gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in vitro

BACKGROUND Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs) are a kind of single-stranded RNA of more than 200 nucleotides in length and have no protein-coding function. Amounting studies have indicated that lncRNAs could play a vital role in the initiation and development of cancers, including gastric cancer(GC). Considering the crucial functions of lncRNAs, the identification and exploration of novel lncRNAs in GC is necessary.AIM To explore the role of novel lncRNA LINC02532 in GC.METHODS The upregulated LINC02532 was identified by processing the GC RNA-Seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas. The qRT-PCR assay was performed to confirm the expression levels in GC cell lines and tissues. Cell proliferation, migration,and invasion were evaluated by the cell counting kit-8, colony formation, wound healing, and Transwell assays. The miRNAs downregulated in GC and sponged by LINC02532 were identified from and predicted by the data from the Firehose and RNA22 software programs, respectively. The miRNA downstream target genes were obtained from the TargetScan, miRDB, and DIANA online tools.Gene functional enrichment analysis was carried out using the Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery software in the categories of cellular components, biological processes, molecular functions, and KEGG pathways.RESULTS The qRT-PCR assay demonstrated that the LINC02532 expression level was significantly upregulated in the GC cell lines and 52 paired tissues. Kaplan-Meiersurvival analysis based on The Cancer Genome Atlas data showed that patients with higher LINC02532 expression had poorer prognosis than those with lower LINC02532 expression. The correlation analysis between expression and clinicopathological features revealed that high expression of LINC02532 was associated with a high TNM stage(P = 0.008) and poor differentiation grade(P =0.023). In history,semiconductor-metal-semiconductor transistor(SMST)was proposed for frequency improvement.However,a general fabrication method is still missing due to the unsolved technological problem of deposition of a general crystalline semiconductor on metal,and a thinner metal base is also difficult to be fabricated with high quality.Recently,due to the atomic thickness of graphene,the concept of semiconductor-graphene-semiconductor transistor(SGST)has emerged which leads to the renaissance of SMST,however the experimental study is in its infancy.In this letter,SMST and SGST are fabricated using Si membrane transfer.It is found the common base current gain can be improved from about 0.5%in a Si-Au-Si transistor to about 1%in a Si-Gr-Ge one,and to above 10%in a Si-Gr-Si one,which is attributed to both the ultra-thin thickness and the quantum capacitance effect of graphene.

产业链供应链现代化是实体经济发展的重要支撑,推动中国式现代化进程的重要抓手,提升人民生活品质、构建新发展格局的重要驱动力。基于2011—2021年我国31个省份面板数据,从数字化、韧性、创新、绿色和安全视角多维度构建我国产业链供应链现代化水平指标体系,采用熵值法对产业链供应链现代化水平赋予权重并进行测度;利用达古姆(Dagum)基尼系数分析产业链供应链现代化差异及其来源;以空间核密度估计法进一步探究空间差异;运用莫兰指数(Moran’I)检验产业链供应链现代化水平的空间相关性。研究表明,我国产业链供应链现代化整体水平呈先抑后扬态势,并以整体—东部地区—中部地区—西部地区呈阶梯状,提升速度依次递减;同时产业链供应链现代化发展空间关联性呈U形态势发展。我国应加强数字化赋能,促进绿色技术创新发展,完善产业链供应链现代化测度体系,立足于产业链供应链现代化发展的现状,从多维度多要素实现产业链供应链现代化共治;正视产业链供应链现代化发展存在的区间差异大、区内发展不平衡问题,打造产业链供应链现代化发展新格局;充分发挥空间关联效应,推动周边地区产业链供应链现代化发展,缩小区间产业链供应链现代化水平差距,推动产业链供应链协同创新发展。

Experimental study of enhanced oil recovery by CO_(2) huff-n-puff in shales and tight sandstones with fractures

The fractures and kerogen,which generally exist in the shale,are signifcant to the CO_(2) huf-n-puf in the shale reservoir.It is important to study the efects of fractures and kerogen on oil recovery during CO_(2) huf-n-puf operations in the fracture-matrix system.In this study,a modifed CO_(2) huf-n-puf experiment method is developed to estimate the recovery factors and the CO_(2) injectivity in the fractured organic-rich shales and tight sandstones.The efects of rock properties,injection pressure,and injection time on the recovery factors and CO_(2) usage efciency in shales and sandstones are discussed,respectively.The results show that although the CO_(2) injectivity in the shale is higher than that in the sandstone with the same porosity;besides,the recovery factors of two shale samples are much lower than that of two sandstone samples.This demonstrates that compared with the tight sandstone,more cycles are needed for the shale to reach a higher recovery factor.Furthermore,there are optimal injection pressures(close to the minimum miscible pressure)and CO_(2) injection volumes for CO_(2) huf-npuf in the shale.Since the optimal CO_(2) injection volume in the shale is higher than that in the sandstone,more injection time is needed to enhance the oil recovery in the shale.There is a reference sense for CO_(2) huf-n-puf in the fractured shale oil reservoir for enhanced oil recovery(EOR)purposes.
