Special flow mechanism and percolation characteristics for gas transport are presented in nanoporous media,which cannot be explained by the traditional motion equation of Darcy's *** the basis of theoretical analysis,we establish a low velocity nonlinear transfer equation of gas in nanoporous media and a mathematical model of gas volume flow in multi-scale porous *** utilizing nonlinear numerical calculation methodology,a detailed quantitative analysis of the diffusion and convective rate of gas flow is presented,providing a theoretical foundation for the development of nanoporous media.

Abstract This paper studies restricted fault diameter of the n-dimensional hypercube networks Qn (n S 2). It is shown that for arbitrary two vertices x and y with the distance d in Qn and any set F with at most 2nm3 vertices in Qn m {x,y}, if F contains neither of neighbor-sets of x and y in Qn, then the distance between x and y in Qn m F is vigen byFurthermore, the upper bounds are tight. As an immediately consequence, Qn can tolerate up to 2nm3 vertices failures and remain diameter 4 if n=3 and n+2 if nS4 provided that for each vertex x in Qn, all the neighbors of x do not fail at the same time. This improves Esfahanian's result.

Background:Data on the evolution of recent small sub-cortical infarcts are limited,especially in the *** studies have reported a large heterogeneity in cavitation and infarct location;therefore,the present study assessed the morphology of small subcortical infarcts in the basal ganglia in a Chinese ***:Patients who had experienced a recent,single,small sub-cortical infarct in the basal ganglia and received at least one follow-up magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)scan were retrospectively identified from January 2014 to June *** to followup imaging,baseline infarct size,vascular risk factors,and other clinical data,as well as the morphologic changes of the index infarct and surrounding white matter were ***,clinical and MRI characteristics were respectively compared among three groups(white matter hyper-intensitie[WMH]*** ***)and between with and without new WMH formation *** addition,logistic regression analyses were performed in investigating the determinate independent predictors for new WMH ***:Seventy-eight subjects were included with a median follow-up time of 304 days(range:124–552 days).We found a significant reduction in infarct size at follow-up:46 of 78(59.0%)infarctions showed some degree of cavitation,19 of 78(24.4%)index lesions resembled non-cavitated WMH,and 13 of 78(16.7%)infarcts had disappeared at follow-up *** factors were found to be associated with differential outcomes of the *** addition,8 of 78(10.3%)patients demonstrated new WMH formation surrounding the index infarct;white matter progression(odds ratio=15.95,95%confidence interval=1.65–153.99;P=0.017)was an independent risk factor of new WMH ***:More than half of the small sub-cortical infarcts in the basal ganglia progressed to cavities,demonstrating that these infarcts can be reduced and go *** presence of new WMH around the infarct may be indicative of the worsening p

Influence of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on proliferation, apoptosis and multi-drug resistance in osteosarcoma cells

Objective: To study the influence of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on the expression of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, PCNA and P- gp in osteosarcoma cells and the relationship between the expression and tumor cell necrosis rate (TCNR) after chemotherapy. Methods: By using immunohistochemistry, the expression of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, PCNA and P-gp was detected in 23 cases of osteosarcoma and TCNR were calculated. Results: The pre-chemotherapy positive expression rate of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, PCNA and P-gp was 73.9%, 69.6%, 91.3% and 21.7%, respectively, and that post-chemotherapy positive expression rate was 52.1%, 34.8%, 43.5% and 56.5%, respectively. The positive expression rate of Bcl-2 and PCNA after chemotherapy was much lower than that before chemotherapy (P=0.039, 0.034). After chemotherapy, the expression rate of P-gp was higher (P=0.021) and the expression of cyclin D1 had no statistically significant difference (P=0.180) comparing with that before chemotherapy. No correla- tion existed between the expression of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, PCNA, P-gp and TCNR before chemotherapy (P=0.155, 0.371, 1.000 and 0.640). There was a negative correlation between the expression of Bcl-2, PCNA, P-gp and TCNR (P=0.009, 0.012 and 0.015), but no relationship existed between the cyclin D1 and TCNR (P=0.100) after chemotherapy. Conclusion: Chemotherapy could inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells. At the same time, due to the overexpression of the P-gp, the drug resistance of the osteosarcoma cells was increased. The detection of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, PCNA and P-gp in osteosarcoma samples before chemotherapy might not be used to predict the curative effect of the chemotherapy.
