Various Silver Nanostructures on Sapphire Using Plasmon Self-Assembly and Dewetting of Thin Films

Silver(Ag) nanostructures demonstrate outstanding optical, electrical, magnetic, and catalytic properties and are utilized in photonic, energy, sensors, and biomedical *** target application and the performance can be inherently tuned by control of configuration, shape, and size of Ag nanostructures. In this work, we demonstrate the systematical fabrication of various configurations of Ag nanostructures on sapphire(0001) by controlling the Ag deposition thickness at different annealing environments in a plasma ion coater. In particular, the evolution of Ag particles(between 2 and 20 nm),irregular nanoclusters(between 30 and 60 nm), and nanocluster networks(between 80 and 200 nm) are found be depended on the thickness of Ag thin film. The results were systematically analyzed and explained based on the solid-state dewetting,surface diffusion, Volmer–Weber growth model, coalescence,and surface energy minimization mechanism. The growth behavior of Ag nanostructures is remarkably differentiated at higher annealing temperature(750 ℃) due to the sublimation and temperature-dependent characteristic of dewetting *** addition, Raman and reflectance spectra analyses reveal that optical properties of Ag nanostructures depend on their morphology.

By using the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant theory, we have studied the dynamical and the geometric phases in a generalized time-dependent A-type Jaynes Cummings model. We lind that, compared with the dynamical phases, the geometric phases in a cycle case are independent of the frequency of the photon field, the coupling coefficient between photons and atoms, and the atom transition frequency. It is pointed out that the geometric phases in a cycle ease can be measured under the case of a stronger time-dependent photon field and a stronger coupling photon-atom system. On the other hand, the geometric phases of the model may be measured in the composition of cold atoms.

The local scour around a new pile-group foundation of offshore wind turbine subjected to a bi-directional current was physically modeled with a bi-directional flow flume. In a series of experiments, the flow velocity and topography of the seabed were measured based on a system composed of plane positioning equipment and an *** results indicate that the development of the scour hole was fast at the beginning, but then the scour rate decreased until reaching equilibrium. Erosion would occur around each pile of the foundation. In most cases, the scour pits were connected in pairs and the outside widths of the scour holes were larger than the inner widths. The maximum scour depth occurred at the side pile of the foundation for each test. In addition, a preliminary investigation shows that the larger the flow velocity, the larger the scour hole dimensions but the shorter equilibrium time. The field maximum scour depth around the foundation was obtained based on the physical experiments with the geometric length scales of 1:27.0, 1:42.5 and 1:68.0, and it agrees with the scour depth estimated by the HEC-18 equation.

Using three dimension MCNP code and FENDL2.0 data library, neutronics calculation for a HCSB (helium cooling solid breeder ) TBM ( test blanket module ) with 3×3 sub-modules has been performed. Local tritium breeding ratio (TBR) of 0.907, total tritium generation rate of 0.0175 g· d-1, peak power density of 9.27MW· m-3 and total power deposit of 0.422MW·m-3 are obtained under neutron wall loading of 0.78MW·m-2 and duty factor of 22%.

Phosphorus recovery in the form of struvite has been aroused in recent decades for its dual advantages in eutrophication control and resource *** usage of the struvite products is normally determined by the size which is largely depended on the *** this study,flow behavior of struvite pellets was simulated by means of Eulerian–Eulerian two-fluid model combining with kinetic theory of granular flow in a liquid–solid fluidized bed reactor（FBR）.A parametric study including the mesh size,time step,discretization strategy,turbulent model and drag model was first developed,followed by the evaluations of crucial operational conditions,particle characteristics and reactor *** results showed that a cold model with the mesh resolution of 16 × 240,default time step of 0.001 sec and first order discretization scheme was accurate enough to describe the *** struvite holdup profile using Syamlal–O＇Brien drag model was best fitted to the experimental data as compared with other drag models and the empirical Richardson–Zaki *** the model evaluation,it showed that liquid velocity and particle size played important roles on both solid holdups and *** reactor diameter only influenced the solid velocity while the static bed height almost took no *** results are direct and can be applied to guide the operation and process control of the struvite ***,the model parameters can also be used as the basic settings in further crystallization simulations.
