Background Congenital heart disease(CHD)is one of the main supportive diseases of extracorporeal membrane oxygena-tion in children.The management of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)for pediatric CHD faces more severe challenges due to the complex anatomical structure of the heart,special pathophysiology,perioperative complications and various concomitant malformations.The survival rate of ECMO for CHD was significantly lower than other classifica-tions of diseases according to the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization database.This expert consensus aims to improve the survival rate and reduce the morbidity of this patient population by standardizing the clinical strategy.Methods The editing group of this consensus gathered 11 well-known experts in pediatric cardiac surgery and ECMO field in China to develop clinical recommendations formulated on the basis of existing evidences and expert opinions.Results The primary concern of ECMO management in the perioperative period of CHD are patient selection,cannulation strategy,pump flow/ventilator parameters/vasoactive drug dosage setting,anticoagulation management,residual lesion screening,fluid and wound management and weaning or transition strategy.Prevention and treatment of complications of bleeding,thromboembolism and brain injury are emphatically discussed here.Special conditions of ECMO management related to the cardiovascular anatomy,haemodynamics and the surgical procedures of common complex CHD should be considered.Conclusions The consensus could provide a reference for patient selection,management and risk identification of periop-erative ECMO in children with CHD.

Visual-spatial neglect after right-hemisphere stroke:behavioral and electrophysiological evidence

Background:Visual-spatial neglect (VSN) is a neuropsychological syndrome,and right-hemisphere stroke is the most common cause.The pathogenetic mechanism of VSN remains unclear.This study aimed to investigate the behavioral and event-related potential (ERP) changes in patients with or without VSN after right-hemisphere stroke.Methods:Eleven patients with VSN with right-hemisphere stroke (VSN group) and 11 patients with non-VSN with righthemisphere stroke (non-VSN group) were recruited along with one control group of 11 age- and gender-matched healthy participants.The visual-spatial function was evaluated using behavioral tests,and ERP examinations were performed.Results:The response times in the VSN and non-VSN groups were both prolonged compared with those of normal controls (P 0.05).Conclusions:Visual-spatial attention function is impaired after right-hemisphere stroke,and clinicians should be aware of the subclinical VSN.Our findings provide neuroelectrophysiological evidence for the lateralization of VSN.

Three new triterpenoids isolated from the aerial parts of Ilex cornuta and protective effects against H2O2-induced myocardial cell injury

In the present study, three new triterpenoids, 23-hydroxyurs-12, 18-dien-28-oic acid 3β-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside(1), 23-hydroxyurs-12, 18-dien-28-oic acid 3β-O-β-D-glucuronopyranoside-6-O-methyl ester(2), and urs-12, 18-dien-28-oic acid 3β-O-β-D-glucuronopyranoside-6-O-methyl ester(3), and a known triterpenoid, 3β-hydroxy-urs-2, 18-dien-28-oic acid(4, randialic acid B), were isolated from the aerial parts of Ilex cornuta. Their structures were identified by the spectroscopic analyses(IR, ESI-MS, HR-ESI-MS, and 1D and 2D NMR) and chemical reactions. Compound 4 showed significant cell-protective effects against H_2O_2-induced H9c2 cardiomyocyte injury. Compounds 1-4 did not show any significant DPPH radical scavenging activity.

Microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of high-boron steel with different ratios of boron and carbon

Boron and carbon contents are the main factors influencing the properties of high-boron steel.In this study,experimental samples with different boron-to-carbon ratios(%B/%C)were prepared.The microstructures of the different samples were observed,and their hardness,bending strength,and impact toughness were investigated.Results show that the main microstructures in the investigated high-boron steel samples are the eutectic Fe_(2)B structure with a fishbone shape and the ternary peritectic Fe_(3)(C,B)structure with a chrysanthemum shape.When the boron content is 2.5wt.%and the carbon content is 0.43wt.%(i.e.,%B/%C=5.82),the overall mechanical properties of the alloy are the best.The alloy's hardness,bending strength and impact toughness reach their maximums,which are 67.3 HRC,1,267.36 MPa and 6.19 J·cm^(-2),respectively.The optimized alloy is compared with conventional materials exhibiting excellent wear resistance(namely,high-manganese steel and high-chromium cast iron)through two-body and three-body abrasion tests.The wear resistance of this high-boron steelinvestigated in this work is found to be superior to those of the more common materials.

Recognition of glycine by cucurbit[5]uril and cucurbit[6]uril:A comparative study of exo-and endo-binding

Recognition features of glycine(Gly)with cucurbit[5]uril(Q[5])and cucurbit[6]uril(Q[6])both in aqueous solution and solid state were investigated by 1 H NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.1 H NMR data indicate that the Gly is located outside of the portals of the Q[5],exhibiting exo binding with the Q[5].In the case of the Q[6],the Gly shows endo binding or a dual binding mode(endo and exo binding)with the host,which depends on the amount of the host in the aqueous solution.X-ray crystallography clearly display that the Gly forms 2:1 exclusion complex with the Q[5],and 2:1 inclusion complex with the Q[6].Interestingly,hydrogen bondings between the encapsulated Gly molecules in the Q[6]were observed.

Screening the Synergistic Components of Acetylcholinesterase Inhibition from Phellodendron Bark Based on Fingerprint-Activity Relationship Modeling

Objective:Phellodendron chinense(PC)bark and Phellodendron amurense(PA)bark are two herbal medicines recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 edition)that are easily mistaken for one another.In this study,the chemical constituents of PC and PA were compared using chromatographic fingerprints,and the potential synergistic acetylcholinesterase(ACh E)inhibitor components were screened based on the correlation of fingerprint activity.Materials and Methods:Chromatographic fingerprints based on high-performance liquid chromatography were developed for the analysis and comparison of chemical compounds in PC and PA samples.The ACh E inhibitory activity of PC and PA was determined using the Ellman method.Subsequently,the contribution of the characterized alkaloids in PC and PA to the overall ACh E inhibition was modeled using partial least squares regression(PLSR).Results:The total alkaloid content in PC was higher than that in PA,which causes PC to have stronger anti-ACh E activity.Overall,13 and 20 common peaks were identified in the PC and PA samples,respectively.Among them,berberine(BER)was the dominant alkaloid in PC,which covered more than 65%of the total peak area in PC,but only approximately 25%of that in PA,indicating that the chemical composition is different between PC and PA.The spectrum–effect analysis based on PLSR and the correlation analysis showed that the BER-palmatine(PAL)and BER-jatrorrhizine(JAT)pairs have a synergistic inhibitory effect on ACh E activity.Conclusions:A high-performance chromatographic fingerprint was established to distinguish PC and PA.The efficacy-associated markers were screened,including the pairs of BER-PAL and BER-JAT with anti-ACh E activity,and the findings may assist with the quality control of PA and PC.

Shale oil resource evaluation with an improved understanding of free hydrocarbons:Insights from three-step hydrocarbon thermal desorption

The pyrolysis parameter S1,which indicates the amount of free hydrocarbons present in shale,is often underestimated due to hydrocarbon loss during sample handling and measurement processes.To remedy this issue,we strongly recommend an immediate three-step hydrocarbon thermal desorption(HTD)approach to be conducted on oil shale at the drilling site.This approach measures S_(g),S_(O),and S_(1)^(*),which refer to gaseous,light,and free hydrocarbons,respectively.The new shale oil content value,calculated from the total of these three parameters,is far more precise and reliable than traditional pyrolysis S1.Moreover,we thoroughly investigated the components and microscopic occurrence features of hydrocarbons thermally desorbed at three temperature stages using gas chromatography(GC)and X-ray microcomputed tomography(CT).For example,we selected Chang 7_(3)mud shale.Our experimental results irrefutably indicate that the ultimate shale oil content of poor resource rocks is significantly impacted by evaporative loss,with this effect being greater when the total organic carbon(TOC)is lower.Additionally,C_(1-5)and C_(1-7)hydrocarbons constitute almost all of S_(g)and S_(O),respectively.S_(g)and S_(O)are predominantly composed of C_(1-3)gaseous hydrocarbons,with a maximum proportion of 42.93%.In contrast,S_(1)^(*)contains a substantial amount of C_(16-31)hydrocarbons.A three-dimensional reconstruction model of an X-ray micro-CT scan shows that while the amount of shale organic matter greatly decreases from the frozen state to 300℃,the pore volume significantly increases,particularly between 90 and 300℃.The increased pore volume is mainly due to macropores and fractures.It is imperative to note that the shale oil triple-division boundaries must be adjusted based on more accurate oil content,although this would not affect the resource zones to which the samples already belong(ineffective,low-efficient,and enriched resources).In conclusion,we strongly advise conducting an immediate well-site analysis or utilizing preservation p

从异质性的风险投资经验角度出发,以2005年—2020年初创企业为样本,基于税收优惠(财税[2017]38号)政策研究了典型风险投资与“套利”风险投资的行为策略和投资绩效.研究表明,在项目选择和投后管理策略上,为满足“持有股权满2年”这一政策条件,经验丰富的风险投资采取了“高风险、高增值”策略,缺乏经验的风险投资选择“低风险、低增值”策略.在投资期限上,缺乏经验的风险投资持有股权满2年后迅速退出、投资期限明显下降,经验丰富的风险投资未进行期限操纵.在投资成效上,只有经验丰富的风险投资所投企业存活概率明显提高.本研究为政府利用财税产业政策培育“专精特新”企业提供了理论依据和方向指引.

Dual roles of the Arabidopsis PEAT complex in histone H2A deubiquitination and H4K5 acetylation

Histone H2A monoubiquitination is associated with transcriptional repression and needs to be removed by deubiquitinases to facilitate gene transcription in eukaryotes.However,the deubiquitinase responsible for genome-wide H2A deubiquitination in plants has yet to be identified.In this study,we found that the previously identified PWWP-EPCR-ARID-TRB(PEAT)complex components interact with both the ubiquitin-specific protease UBP5 and the redundant histone acetyltransferases HAM1 and HAM2(HAM1/2)to form a larger version of PEAT complex in Arabidopsis thaliana.UBP5 functions as an H2A deubiquitinase in a nucleosome substrate-dependent manner in vitro and mediates H2A deubiquitination at the whole-genome level in vivo.HAM1/2 are shared subunits of the PEAT complex and the conserved NuA4 histone acetyltransferase com-plex,and are responsible for histone H4K5 acetylation.Within the PEAT complex,the PWWP components(PWWP1,PWWP2,and PWWP3)directly interact with UBP5 and are necessary for UBP5-mediated H2A deu-biquitination,while the EPCR components(EPCR1 and EPCR2)directly interact with HAM1/2 and are required for HAM1/2-mediated H4K5acetylation.Collectively,our study not onlyidentifies dual roles of thePEAT com-plex in H2A deubiquitination and H4K5 acetylation but also illustrates how these processes collaborate at the whole-genome level to regulate the transcription and development in plants.

Development of peanut varieties with high oil content by in vitro mutagenesis and screening

Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important oil crop globally and high oil content is one of the major targets in peanut breeding programs. Previous studies indicated that the osmotic pressure (OP) of the leaves of peanut plants subjected to drought stress was negatively correlated with kernel oil content. Based on this knowledge, we established a practical and reliable method for creating new peanut varieties with high oil content using in vitro mutagenesis and directional OP-based selection. Using embryonic leaflets of peanut variety Huayu 20 as explants, pingyangmycin (PYM) as the mutagen, and hydroxyproline (HYP) as the OP regulator, we developed 15 HYP-tolerant regenerated plants. For each regenerated plant, we selected offspring with oil content>55% (relative to 49.5% for Huayu 20). We developed and released three new peanut varieties with high yield and high oil content from the offspring of the HYP-tolerant regenerated plants. The three new varieties were named as Yuhua 4, Yuhua 9 and Yuhua 14 and their oil contents were 57.7, 61.1 and 59.3%, respectively. The results indicate that in vitro mutagenesis with PYM followed by directed screening with HYP is a useful approach for breeding peanut varieties with high oil contents.
