Design of Flexible Films Based on Kinked Carbon Nanofibers for High Rate and Stable Potassium-Ion Storage

With the emergence of wearable electronics,flexible energy storage materials have been extensively studied in recent years.However,most studies focus on improving the electrochemical properties,ignoring the flexible mechanism and structure design for flexible electrode materials with high rate capacities and long-time stability.In this study,porous,kinked,and entangled network structures are designed for highly flexible fiber films.Based on theoretical analysis and finite element simulation,the bending degree of the porous structure(30%porosity)increased by 192%at the micro-level.An appropriate increase in kinking degree at the meso-level and contact points in entanglement network at the macro-level are beneficial for the flexibility of fiber films.Therefore,a porous and entangled network of sulfur-/nitrogen-co-doped kinked carbon nanofibers(S/N-KCNFs)is synthesized.The nanofiber films synthesized from melamine as nitrogen sources and segmented vulcanization exhibited a porous,kinked,and entangled network structure,and the stretching degree increased several times.The flexible S/N-KCNFs anode delivered a higher rate performance of 270 mAh g−1 at a current density of 2000 mA g−1 and a higher capacity retention rate of 93.3%after 2000 cycles.Moreover,the foldable pouch cell assembled by potassium-ion hybrid supercapacitor operated safely at large-angle bending and showed long-time stability of 88%capacity retention after 4000 cycles.This study provides a new idea and strategy for the flexible structure design of high-performance potassium-ion storage materials.

Experimental investigation of tubing collar's influence on hydrodynamic behavior of annular duct flow

Tubing collars’influence on hydrodynamic behavior of annular duct flow has been investigated using Particle Image Velocity(PIV)technology.PIV has become an efficient method for complex transient flows visualization.A water flow loop with two replaceable variable cross-sections(VCS),75-90 mm and 90-110 mm,in a 129 mm inner diameter(ID)pipe was used.The whole field of the variable cross-section annulus(VCSA)was visualized,including forward-facing step(FFS),narrow annulus(NA),and backwardfacing step(BFS)flow.The VCSA ratio and Reynolds(Re)number influence on streamline distribution,velocity distribution,and turbulence intensity were discussed.Results showed that the recirculation is easier to form in BFS than FFS flow under the same condition.The VCSA ratio affects the formation of recirculation zones and the location of the reattachment point.Reynolds number mainly affects BFS flow by influencing the main velocity component-axial velocity.The turbulence intensity is relatively high in BFS than FFS flow and is larger at y/h>1.0 than y/hhermore,the streamwise cohere nt structures reveal that the first two modes are predominant and represent the main characteristics of the flow by proper orthogonal decomposition(POD)method.

Acupuncture for cerebral palsy: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture therapy for children with cerebral palsy. DATA SOURCES： We conducted electronic searches of PUBMED（1950/2017）, EMBASE（1974/2017）, Science Direct（1986/2017）, Academic Source Premier（1887/2017）, the Cochrane Library（Issue 4, April 2017）, Science Citation Index Expanded（1900/2017）, China National Knowledge Infrastructure（1915/2017）, China Biological Medicine（1990/2017-04）, Wan Fang（1980/2017）, VIP（1989/2017）, and Chinese Science Citation Database（1989/2017）. DATA SELECTION： We included randomized controlled trials that aimed to compare the effect of acupuncture plus rehabilitation training versus rehabilitation training alone. Data about functional motor abilities, daily activity/social participation, effective rate, intellectual development, and adverse effects were included. We used Revman 5.2 software for statistical analysis. OUTCOME MEASURES： The primary outcomes included functional motor abilities, daily activity, and effective rate. The secondary outcomes included intellectual development and adverse effects.RESULTS： Twenty-one studies with a total of 1718 participants met the inclusion criteria. The effect size of gross motor function（SMD = 0.64, 95% CI： 0.52 to 0.76, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 0%, P = 0.69; in 13 studies with 1144 patients） and the total effective rate（RR = 1.28, 95% CI： 1.20 to 1.37, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 18%, P = 0.27; in 12 studies with 1106 patients） suggested that acupuncture plus rehabilitation produced a significant improvement in gross motor function and a high total effective rate. The pooled fine motor function（SMD = 3.48, 95% CI： 2.62 to 4.34, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 64%, P = 0.10; in 2 studies with 193 patients）, modified Ashworth scale scores（SMD = –0.31, 95% CI： –0.52 to –0.11, P = 0.003; I^2 = 74%, P = 0.004; in 5 studies with 363 patients） and activities of daily living（SMD = 1.45, 95% CI： 1.20 to 1.71, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 78%, P = 0.004; in 4 studies with 313 patients） also indicated improvements in children with cerebral palsy.

Cancer stem cells(CSCs)show a self-renewal capacity and differentiation potential that contribute to tumor progression and therapy resistance.However,the underlying processes are still unclear.Elucidation of the key hallmarks and resistance mechanisms of CSCs may help improve patient outcomes and reduce relapse by altering therapeutic regimens.here,we reviewed the identification of CSCs,the intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms of therapy resistance in CSCs,the signaling pathways of CSCs that mediate treatment failure,and potential CSC-targeting agents in various tumors from the clinical perspective.Targeting the mechanisms and pathways described here might contribute to further drug discovery and therapy.

Longitudinal corner crack of chamfered slab and optimization of mould

Chamfered mould has gradually become a new technology equipment to eliminate transverse corner crack.However,longitudinal corner crack ratio of chamfered slab was very high.Solidification microstructure was detected in the area where the longitudinal corner crack occurred.Effect of narrow face shape and taper distribution of mould copper plate on longitudinal corner crack was studied by industrial tests.Water velocity distribution in the narrow copper plate was studied by numerical simulation.On the premise of preventing cooling water from nuclear boiling,improvement measures of mould cooling process and water seam structure were put forward through heat transfer calculation.The results showed that local taper of the meniscus region of mould should be increased to prevent generation of longitudinal corner crack.Chamfering slope length of narrow copper plate should be controlled within 55 mm,and chamfering angle should be controlled at about 30°.Average water velocity should be more than 7.0 m/s.The flat and chamfering regions of narrow copper plate working face should be designed as double taper and funnel structure,respectively.The water seam in the chamfering region should preferentially choose the combined cooling structure with two holes and one slot.In order to prevent the extension of longitudinal corner crack,chamfered narrow face foot roller should be used.

Carbon nanofibers films are typical flexible electrode in the field of energy storage,but their application in Zinc-ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs)is limited by the low energy density due to the lack of active adsorption sites.In this work,an in-situ exfoliation strategy is reported to modulate the chemisorption sites of carbon nanofibers by high pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen doping and carbonyl functionalization.The experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the highly electronegative pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen dopants can not only greatly reduce the binding energy between carbonyl group and Z n2+by inducing charge delocalization of the carbonyl group,but also promote the adsorption of Zn2+by bonding with the carbonyl group to form N–Zn–O bond.Benefit from the multiple highly active chemisorption sites generated by the synergy between carbonyl groups and pyridine/pyrrole nitrogen atoms,the resulting carbon nanofibers film cathode displays a high energy density,an ultralong-term lifespan,and excellent capacity reservation under commercial mass loading(14.45 mg cm-2).Particularly,the cathodes can also operate stably in flexible or quasi-solid devices,indicating its application potential in flexible electronic products.This work established a universal method to solve the bottleneck problem of insufficient active adsorption sites of carbon-based ZIHCs.Imoproved should be changed into Improved.

MINDTL： Multiple Incomplete Domains Transfer Learning for Information Recommendation

Collaborative filtering is the most popular and successful information recommendation technique. However, it can suffer from data sparsity issue in cases where the systems do not have sufficient domain information. Transfer learning, which enables information to be transferred from source domains to target domain, presents an unprecedented opportunity to alleviate this issue. A few recent works focus on transferring user-item rating information from a dense domain to a sparse target domain, while almost all methods need that each rating matrix in source domain to be extracted should be complete. To address this issue, in this paper we propose a novel multiple incomplete domains transfer learning model for cross-domain collaborative filtering. The transfer learning process consists of two steps. First, the user-item ratings information in incomplete source domains are compressed into multiple informative compact cluster-level matrixes, which are referred as codebooks. Second, we reconstruct the target matrix based on the codebooks. Specifically, for the purpose of maximizing the knowledge transfer, we design a new algorithm to learn the rating knowledge efficiently from multiple incomplete domains. Extensive experiments on real datasets demonstrate that our proposed approach significantly outperforms existing methods.

Prolonged simulation of near-free surface underwater explosion based on Eulerian finite element method

n the area of naval architecture and ocean engineering,the research about the underwater xplosion problem is of great significance.To achieve prolonged simulation of near-free surface underwater explosion,the underwater explosion transient numerical model is established in this paper based on compressible Eulerian finite element method(EFEM).Compared with Geers Hunter formula,EFEM is availably validated by simulating the free-field underwater xplosion case.Then,the bubble pulsation and flow field dynamic characteristics of the cases with different underwater explosive depth are compared in this work.Lastly,the height of the water hump and the pressure of flow flied are analyzed quantitatively through the simulation results.

Leech-Centipede Granules Suppress EndMT to Improve Erectile Dysfunction in Rats with Diabetes Mellitus via TGF-β/Smad Pathway

Objective:To investigate whether Leech-Centipede(LC) Granules can improve erectile function in rats with diabetes mellitus-associated erectile dysfunction(DMED) through endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EndMT) inhibition.Methods:Components of LC Granules were identified via ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography.Thirty male Sprague Dawley rats were injected with streptozotocin and fed continuously for 8weeks to establish the DMED rat model.Rats with erectile dysfunction symptoms diagnosed using apomorphine were divided into DMED and low-,medium-,and high-doses LC groups(n=6 in each).The negative control(NC, n=6) and DMED groups were given 5 mL of deionized water via intragastric gavage,and the low-,mediumand the high-doses LC groups were administered LC at 1.6,3.2,and 6.4 g/kg,respectively,via intragastric gavage for 4 weeks.The intracavernous pressure(ICP),mean arterial pressure(MAP),and nitric oxide(NO) levels in cavernous tissue were measured for each group.Quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were used to detect mRNA and protein expressions of endothelial and mesenchymal markers.Immunofluorescence staining was used to observe α-SMA, and Masson’s trichrome staining was performed to determine the myofiber/collagen ratio.Results:A total of 474 active components were identified.After treatment,the ICP/MAP value and NO level were significantly higher in the medium-and high-dose LC groups than in the DMED group(Phe DMED groups,the medium-and high-dose groups LC significantly increased and decreased endothelial and mesenchymal markers expression,respectively(Pher following diabetes onset but reduced following LC intervention(P0.05).α-SMA expression was significantly higher in the DMED group and was reduced in all LC intervention groups(P>0.05).The myofiber/collagen ratio in the LC groups was higher than that in the DMED group but lo

Polyphosphoester-modified Cellulose Nanocrystals for Stabilizing Pickering Emulsion Polymerization of Styrene

The structure and properties of functional nanoparticles are important for stabilizing Pickering emulsion polymerization.Recently,cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs)are increasingly favored as a bio-based stabilizer for Pickering emulsions.In this study,we reported a novel functionalized polyphosphoester-grafted CNCs for the stabilization of oil-in-water Pickering emulsions and the emulsion polymerization of styrene.First,polyphosphoester containing an amino group at one end of the chain,abbreviated as PBYP-NH2,was prepared by ring-opening polymerization(ROP)and hydrolysis reaction,wherein PBYP represents poly[2-(but-3-yn-1-yloxy)-2-oxo-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane].Subsequently,CNC-COOH was obtained via 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl(TEMPO)oxidation of CNCs.The functionalized nanocrystals CNC-PBYP-COOH with carboxyl groups and polyphosphoester on the surface were obtained by the amidation reaction of PBYP-NH2 with CNC-COOH.Finally,we used CNC-PBYP-COOH as sole particle emulsifiers to stabilize styrene-in-water Pickering emulsions and studied its effects on the emulsions in details by using dynamic light scattering(DLS).The results indicated that the properties of these emulsions depended on the concentration of hydrophobically modified CNCs,volume ratios of oil to water,and pH values.The modified CNCs had higher ability to stabilize the styrene-in-water emulsions relative to the unmodified CNCs,and a stable oil-in-water(o/w)Pickering emulsion with diameter of hundreds of nanometers could be obtained.The resulting emulsions could be polymerized to yield nanosized latexes.The polyphosphoester-modified CNCs as green particle emulsifiers can efficiently stabilize nanoemulsions and latexes,which would promote the development of novel environmentally friendly materials.
