The fall armyworm(FAW),Spodoptera frugiperda(***),spread rapidly in Africa and Asia recently,causing huge economic losses in crop *** armyworm caterpillars were first detected in South Korea and Japan in June ***,the migration timing and path for FAW into the countries were estimated by a trajectory simulation approach implementing the insect's flight *** result showed that FAWs found in both South Korea and Japan were estimated to have come from eastern China by crossing the Yellow Sea or the East China Sea in 10–36 h in three series of *** the first series,FAW moths that arrived on Jeju Island during 22–24 May were estimated to be from Zhejiang,Anhui and Fujian Provinces after 1–2 nights’*** the second series,it was estimated that FAW moths landed in southern Korea and Kyushu region of Japan simultaneously or successively during 5–9 June,and these moths mostly came from Guangdong and Fujian *** FAW moths in the third series were estimated to have immigrated from Taiwan Province onto Okinawa Islands during 19–24 *** these migrations,southwesterly low-level jets extending from eastern China to southern Korea and/or Japan were observed in the northwestern periphery of the western Pacific Subtropical *** results,for the first time,suggested that the overseas FAW immigrants invading Korea and Japan came from eastern and southern *** study is helpful for future monitoring,early warning and the source control of this pest in the two countries.

From the perspective of resource-theoretic approach,this study explores the quantification of imaginary in quantum *** propose a well defined measure of imaginarity,the geometric-like measure of *** with the usual geometric imaginarity measure,this geometric-like measure of imaginarity exhibits smaller decay difference under quantum noisy channels and higher *** applications,we show that both the optimal probability of state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations,and the maximal probability of stochastic-approximate state transformations from a pure state to an arbitrary mixed state via real operations with a given fidelity f,are given by the geometric-like measure of imaginarity.

Simultaneous immobilization of multiple heavy metal(loid)s in contaminated water and alkaline soil inoculated Fe/Mn oxidizing bacterium

Two strains of Fe/Mn oxidizing bacteria tolerant to high concentrations of multiple heavy metal(loid)s and efficient decontamination for them were *** surface of the bio-Fe/Mn oxides produced by the oxidation of Fe(II)and Mn(II)by Pseudomonas taiwanensis(marked as P4)and Pseudomonas plecoglossicida(marked as G1)contains rich reactive oxygen functional groups,which play critical roles in the removal efficiency and immobilization of heavymetal(loid)s in co-contamination *** isolated strains P4 and G1 can growwell in the following environments:pH 5-9,NaCl 0-4%,and temperature 20-30℃.The removal efficiencies of Fe,Pb,As,Zn,Cd,Cu,and Mn are effective after inoculation of the strains P4 and G1 in the simulated water system(the initial concentrations of heavy metal(loid)were 1 mg/L),approximately reaching 96%,92%,85%,67%,70%,54%and 15%,*** exchangeable and carbonate bound As,Cd,Pb and Cu are more inclined to convert to the Fe-Mn oxide bound fractions in P4 and G1 treated soil,thereby reducing the phytoavailability and bioaccessible of heavy metal(loid)*** research provides alternatives method to treat water and soil containing high concentrations of multi-heavy metal(loid)s.

Near-eutectic Al-Si alloys are widely used in automotive manufacturing due to their superior wear resistance and high temperature *** of high Si content,the grain refinement of near-eutectic Al-Si alloy has been a problem for many *** this study,the effect of deep cryogenic treatment(DCT)on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-12Si-4Cu-2Ni-Mg alloy with addition of Al-Ti-C-B master alloy was fully *** show that the average grain size of the alloy is greatly reduced from 0.92 mm to 0.50 mm,and the eutectic Si and Al7Cu4Ni precipitates are spheroidized and refined in Al-12Si-4Cu-2Ni-Mg after DCT for 24 h and aging *** these changes of microstructures result in a significant increment of about 22.5%in elongation and a slight enhancement of about 6.8%in tensile ***,the refinement of microstructure also significantly improves the fatigue life of the alloy.

Enhancement of weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores leaching process with PQ-10 addition

To solve the problems of the long development period,low mass transfer efficiency and high impurity conte nt in the in-situ leaching process of weathe red crust elution-deposited rare earth ores(WCE-DREO),cationic hydroxyethyl cellulose(PQ-10)was composited with conventional leaching agent ammonium sulfate((NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4))to form a novel composite leaching *** effects of PQ-10 concentration,leaching temperature and leaching flow rate of the composite leaching agent on the leaching kinetics and mass transfer processes of rare earth(RE)and aluminum(Al)were *** to the single leaching agent(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4),the composite leaching agent(2 wt%(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)+0.02 wt%PQ-10)can reduce the RE leaching equilibrium time from 465 to 130 min and increase the RE leaching efficiency and decrease the Al leaching *** also facilitates the leaching process of WCE-DREO by increasing the peak concentrations of RE and Al,reducing the theoretical tower plate height(HETP)and improving the leaching mass transfer *** is indicated that PQ-10 can promote the leaching of *** leaching process of the composite leaching system conforms to the diffusion kinetic control *** the PQ-10 concentration is in the range of 0.005 wt%-0.020 wt%,the reaction orders of RE and Al are 0.73 and 0.54,respectively,which shows a positive effect on the leaching velocity;when the PQ-10 concentration is in the range of 0.030 wt%-0.060 wt%,the reaction orders of RE and Al are-1.16 and-0.75,respectively,which show a negative effect on the leaching *** the range of 10-50℃,the apparent activation energies of RE and Al are 15.02 and 17.31 kJ/mol,respectively,and the higher the leaching temperature,the smaller the HETP and the higher the leaching velocity and mass transfer *** increase in leaching flow rate contributes to the increase in the longitudinal diffusion velocity of the leaching agent within WCE-DREO,causing a shorter time for RE

Co-production of hydrogen, oxygen, and electricity via an integrated solar-driven system with decoupled water electrolyzer and Na-Zn ion battery

Combining water electrolysis and rechargeable battery technologies into a single system holds great promise for the co-production of hydrogen (H_(2)) and ***,the design and development of such systems is still in its ***,an integrated hydrogen-oxygen (O_(2))-electricity co-production system featuring a bipolar membrane-assisted decoupled electrolyzer and a Na-Zn ion battery was established with sodium nickelhexacyanoferrate (NaNiHCF) and Zn^(2+)/Zn as dual redox *** decoupled electrolyzer enables to produce H_(2)and O_(2)in different time and space with almost 100%Faradaic efficiency at 100 mA cm^(-2).Then,the charged NaNiHCF and Zn electrodes after the electrolysis processes formed a Na-Zn ion battery,which can generate electricity with an average cell voltage of 1.75 V at 10 m A cm^(-2).By connecting Si photovoltaics with the modular electrochemical device,a well-matched solar driven system was built to convert the intermittent solar energy into hydrogen and electric energy with a solar to hydrogen-electricity efficiency of 16.7%,demonstrating the flexible storage and conversion of renewables.

Stem-leaf saponins of Panax notoginseng attenuate experimental Parkinson's disease progression in mice by inhibiting microglia-mediated neuroinflammation via P2Y2R/PI3K/AKT/NFκB signaling pathway

Stem-leaf saponins from Panax notoginseng(SLSP) comprise numerous PPD-type saponins with diverse pharmacological properties; however, their role in Parkinson's disease(PD),characterized by microglia-mediated neuroinflammation, remains unclear. This study evaluated the effects of SLSP on suppressing microglia-driven neuroinflammation in experimental PD models, including the 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium(MPTP)-induced mouse model and lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated BV-2 microglia. Our findings revealed that SLSP mitigated behavioral impairments and excessive microglial activation in models of PD, including MPTP-treated mice. Additionally, SLSP inhibited the upregulation of inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS) and cyclooxygenase-2(COX2) and attenuated the phosphorylation of PI3K,protein kinase B(AKT), nuclear factor-κB(NFκB), and inhibitor of NFκB protein α(IκBα) both in vivo and in vitro. Moreover, SLSP suppressed the production of inflammatory markers such as interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α) in LPS-stimulated BV-2cells. Notably, the P2Y2R agonist partially reversed the inhibitory effects of SLSP in LPStreated BV-2 cells. These results suggest that SLSP inhibit microglia-mediated neuroinflammation in experimental PD models, likely through the P2Y2R/PI3K/AKT/NFκB signaling pathway. These novel findings indicate that SLSP may offer therapeutic potential for PD by attenuating microglia-mediated neuroinflammation.

AIM:To investigate the clinical profile of patients with acquired lacrimal sac mucocele(ALSM)and evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy(En-DCR)for this ***:En-DCRs were performed on 141 patients with ALSM patients from January 2016 to March *** clinical baseline information and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)images were recorded and *** assess the effectiveness of En-DCR therapy,both anatomical and functional success rate was assessed during a 12mo ***:A total of 141 patients,with a mean age of 57.70±14.11y,were enrolled in this *** of the patients were female(n=91;64.54%)and all had unilateral *** patients had a previous history of epiphora and purulent secretion,and the duration from lacrimal duct obstruction to mucocele formation ranged from 6 to *** findings consistently revealed an enlarged sac diameter,fluid accumulation separated by a thin rim from adjacent tissues,which is indicative of lacrimal sac ***-DCR was performed with an anatomical success rate of 93.62%and a functional success rate of 81.56%.CONCLUSION:ALSM is more commonly seen in females and *** is essentially a complication of lacrimal duct *** characteristics can be used for precise clinical diagnosis,while En-DCR emerges as an optimal therapy for this *** results provide a comprehensive reference for the diagnosis and treatment of ALSM.

Unified monogamy relations for the generalized W-class states beyond qubits

The monogamy of entanglement stands as an indispensable feature within multipartite quantum systems. We study monogamy relations with respect to any partitions for the generalized W-class（GW） states based on the unified-（q, s） entanglement（UE）. We provide the monogamy relation based on the squared UE for a reduced density matrix of a qudit GW state, as well as tighter monogamy relations based on the αth（α ≥ 2） power of UE. Furthermore, for an n-qudit system ABC1...Cn-2, a generalized monogamy relation and an upper bound satisfied by the βth（0 ≤ β ≤ 1） power of the UE for the GW states under the partition AB and C1...Cn-2are established. In particular, two partition-dependent residual entanglements for the GW states are analyzed in detail.

Generation of transgenic chicken through ovarian injection

Background : Traditional DNA microinjection methods used in mammals are difficult to apply to avian species due to their unique reproductive characteristics. Genetic manipulation in chickens, particularly involving immature follicles within living ovaries, has not been extensively explored. This study seeks to establish an efficient method for generating transgenic chickens through ovarian injection, potentially bypassing the challenges associated with primordial germ cell (PGC) manipulation and fertilized egg microinjection. Methods : Hens were anesthetized and underwent a surgical procedure to access the ovary for DNA injection into immature follicles. The study used liposomes to deliver GFP- expressing plasmids at various dosages. After injection, hens recovered, and their eggs were fertilized through artificial insemination. Results : Transgenic chickens were successfully generated in one generation without needing G0 founders. The injection of 20 μg plasmid yielded the highest transgenic efficiency at 12.1%. GFP- positive embryos were confirmed through microscopy, and successful transgene expression was validated at the tissue level using immunostaining. TERT and GFP elements introduced in the G1 generation resulted in 4.1% positive transgene rates, as confirmed by PCR and Southern blotting. Conclusion : This ovarian injection method offers a promising alternative for avian genetic manipulation, bypassing complex PGC procedures and enabling direct generation of G1 transgenic chickens. This technique simplifies the transgenic process for chickens and has the potential to be adapted for other avian species, especially those without established PGCs culture systems.
