Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases(LPMOs)are important enzymes that boost the hydrolysis of recalcitrant polysaccharides,such as chitin.They are found extensively in different insect species and are classified as auxiliary activities family 15(AA15)LPMOs(LPMO15).Some of them were identified from the insect midgut and proven to act on chitin.However,knowledge about their physiological roles during insect growth and development remains limited.Here,we found that midgut-specific LPMO15s are widely distributed in different insect orders,such as the orthopteran Locusta migratoria and the lepidopteran bombyx mori.Using L.migratoria as a model insect,the function of midgut-specific LmLPMO15-3 during development was investigated.Double-stranded RNA-mediated downregulation of LmLPMO15-3 expression at the 4th or 5th instar nymph stage severely decreased the survival rate and resulted in lethal phenotypes.Hematoxylin and eosin staining results indicated that the deficient individuals exhibited incompletely digested peritrophic matrix(PM),which suggested that LmLPMO15-3 is essential for the deconstruction of the PM during molting.This study provides direct evidence of the physiological importance of a midgut-specific LPMO15 during insect development.As L.migratoria is one of the most destructive agricultural pests,LmLPMO15-3 is a potential target for pest management.

Derivation and validation of a preoperative prognostic model for resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

Background: The prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC) remains poor even after radical pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD). The study aimed to develop and validate a novel preoperative prognostic model to accurately predict the long-term survival of patients with PDAC.Methods: Patients with PDAC of pancreatic head from Chinese PLA General Hospital were included. The preoperative PDAC model with contour plots was developed using a non-linear model in the training cohort and then tested in the validation cohort.Results: Of 421 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 280 were in the training cohort and 141 in the validation cohort. Contour plots for preoperative PDAC model were established to visually predict the survival probabilities of these patients, based on preoperative carbohydrate antigen 19-9, preoperative fibrinogen to albumin ratio and pain symptoms. This model stratified patients into low-and high-risk groups with distinctly different long-term survival in the training cohort [median overall survival(OS)32.1 vs. 17.5 months;median recurrence-free survival(RFS) 19.3 vs. 10.0 months, both P both P < 0.001).Time-dependent receiver operating characteristic and decision curve analyses revealed that the model provided higher diagnostic accuracy and superior net benefit compared to other staging systems.Conclusions: This study constructed and validated a novel preoperative prognostic model that can accurately and conveniently predict the long-term survival of patients with resectable PDAC of pancreatic head. Besides, the model can screen high-risk patients with poor prognosis, which may provide references for personal treatment strategies in the future.

Significance of Vestibular Testing on Distinguishing the Nerve of Origin for Vestibular Schwannoma and Predicting the Preservation of Hearing

Background： Determining the nerve of origin for vestibular schwannoma （VS）, as a method for predicting hearing prognosis, has not been systematically considered. The vestibular test can be used to investigate the function of the superior vestibular nerve （SVN） and the inferior vestibular nerve （IVN）. This study aimed to preoperatively distinguish the nerve of origin for VS patients using the vestibular test, and determine if this correlated with hearing preservation. Methods： A total of 106 patients with unilateral VS were enrolled in this study prospectively. Each patient received a caloric test, vestibular-evoked myogenic potential （VEMP） test, and cochlear nerve function test （hearing） before the operation and 1 week, 3, and 6 months, postoperatively. All patients underwent surgical removal of the VS using the suboccipital approach. During the operation, the nerve of tumor origin （SVN or IVN） was identified by the surgeon. Tumor size was measured by preoperative magnetic resonance imaging. Results： The nerve of tumor origin could not be unequivocally identified in 38 patients （38/106, 35.80%）. These patients were not subsequently evaluated. In 26 patients （nine females, seventeen males）, tumors arose from the SVN and in 42 patients （18 females, 24 males）, tumors arose from the IVN. Comparing with tile nerve of origins （SVN and IVN） of tumors, the results of the caloric tests and VEMP tests were significantly different in tumors originating from the SVN and the IVN in our study. Hearing was preserved in 16 of 26 patients （61.54%） with SVN-originating tumors, whereas hearing was preserved in only seven of 42 patients （16.67%） with IVN-originating tumors. Conclusions： Our data suggest that caloric and VEMP tests might help to identify whether VS tumors originate from the SVN or IVN. These tests could also be used to evaluate the residual function of the nerves after surgery. Using this information, we might better predict the preservation of hearing for patients.

Modulation of spin dynamics in Ni/Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-PbTiO_(3) multiferroic heterostructure

Motivated by the fast-developing spin dynamics in ferromagnetic/piezoelectric structures, this study attempts to manipulate magnons (spin-wave excitations) by the converse magnetoelectric (ME) coupling. Herein, electric field (E-field) tuning magnetism, especially the surface spin wave, is accomplished in Ni/0.7Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-0.3PbTiO_(3) (PMN-PT) multiferroic heterostructures. The Kerr signal (directly proportional to magnetization) changes of Ni film are observed when direct current (DC) or alternative current (AC) voltage is applied to PMN-PT substrate, where the signal can be modulated breezily even without extra magnetic field (H-field) in AC-mode measurement. Deserved to be mentioned, a surface spin wave switch of “1” (i.e., “on”) and “0” (i.e., “off”) has been created at room temperature upon applying an E-field. In addition, the magnetic anisotropy of heterostructures has been investigated by E-field-induced ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) shift, and a large 490 Oe shift of FMR is determined at the angle of 45° between H-field and heterostructure plane.

Effect of Compound Zhuye Shigao Granule(复方竹叶石膏颗粒)on Acute Radiation-Induced Esophagitis in Cancer Patients:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective： To observe the efficacy and safety of the Chinese medicine（CM） Compound Zhuye Shigao Granule（复方竹叶石膏颗粒, CZSG） on acute radiation-induced esophagitis（ARIE） in cancer patients. Methods： In a blinded, randomized, Kangfuxin Solution（康复新液, KFX）-controlled, single-centre clinical trial, 120 patients with lung, esophagus or mediastinal cancer were prospectively enrolled and assigned to the treatment group（60 cases） and control group（60 cases） by the random number table method. All patients received concurrent or sequential radiotherapy（2 Gy per day, 5 times per week, for 4 weeks） and were treated for 4 weeks since the radiation therapy. Patients in the treatment group were given 12 mg CZSG orally, thrice daily, while patients in the control group were given 10 m L KFX orally, thrice daily. The major indicators were observed, including the incidence and grade of esophagitis, time of occurrence and duration. Minor indicators were changes of CM symptoms, weight and Karnofsky Performance Status（KPS） Scale during 4 weeks from the beginning, recorded once a week. Blood routine examination and hepatorenal function were detected at the 2nd and 4th weeks. Results： The incidence and grade of ARIE were significantly decreased in the treatment group compared with the control group（P〈0.05）. CZSG appeared to significantly delay the time of ARIE occurrence and reduce the duration compared with KFX（P〈0.05）. The scores of CM symptoms, KPS and weight were improved significantly in the treatment group compared with the control group（P〈0.05）. There were no blood routine and hepatorenal function abnormal or obvious side-effects in both groups. Hemoglobin was improved and neutrophil and interleukin 6 were decreased in both groups after 4-week treatment compared with before treatment（P〈0.05）, and there was no significant difference between the two groups（P〉0.05）. Conclusions： CZSG can decrease the incidence and grade of ARIE, delay the time of occurrence, reduce duration and alleviate the damage of ARIE. It is safe and effective in

INTRODUCTION Granular cell tumor （GCT） of neurohypophysis was first reported by boyce and Beadles in 1983.Iu In 2016 WHO classification of central nervous system （CNS） tumors, GCT of neurohypophysis was defined as a distinct diagnosis.121 Here, we reported two cases of GCT of neurohypophysis misdiagnosed as pituitary adenoma and craniopharyngioma. One of the cases was a very rare fully described neurohypophysial GCT which invaded into the right cavernous sinus [Figure 1a and 1b], indicating that the benign tumor might possess aggressive features.

Novel matrine derivative MD-1 attenuates hepatic fibrosis by inhibiting EGFR activation of hepatic stellate cells

Matrine （MT）, the effective component of Sophora fla- vescens Air, has been shown to have anti-inflammation, immune-suppressive, anti-tumor, and anti-hepatic fibrosis activities. However, the pharmacological effects of MT still need to be strengthened due to its relatively low efficacy and short half-life. In the present study, we report a more effective thio derivative of MT, MD-1, and its inhibitory effects on the activation of hepatic stellate cells （HSCs） in both cell culture and animal models. Cytological experiments showed that MD-1 can inhibit the proliferation of HSC-T6 cells with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration （ICs0） of 62 pmollL. In addition, MD-1 more strongly inhibits the migration of HSC-T6 cells compared to MT and can more effectively induce G0/G1 arrest and apoptosis. Investigating the biological mechanisms underlying anti-hepatic fibrosis in the presence of MD-I, we found that MD-I can bind the epidermal growth factor receptor （EGFR） on the surface of HSC-T6 cells, which can further inhibit the phospho- rylaUon of EGFR and its downstream protein kinase B （Akt）, resulting in decreased expression of cyclin D1 and eventual inhibition of the activation of HSC-T6 cells. Furthermore, in rats with dimethylnitrosamine （DMN）- induced hepatic fibrosis, MD-1 slowed the development and progression of hepatic fibrosis, protecting hepatic parenchymal cells and improving hepatic functions. Therefore, MD-1 is a potential drug for anti-hepatic fibrosis.

大气CO_(2)浓度升高等全球变化过程不仅能促进外来植物入侵,也能改变土壤丛枝菌根真菌(AMF)的群落结构,但我们并不清楚大气CO_(2)浓度升高促进外来植物入侵是否与其对外来入侵植物和本地植物AMF共生的影响有关。为回答这一问题,我们在环境和倍增CO_(2)浓度下连续3年栽培一年生外来入侵植物瘤突苍耳(Xanthium strumarium)与两种共存的一年生本地近缘植物,比较了AMF侵染率、土壤养分和土壤AMF群落组成的差异。研究结果表明,大气CO_(2)浓度升高只在少数情况下提高根系AMF侵染率,并且瘤突苍耳AMF侵染率的提高并不比本地种多。在环境CO_(2)浓度下,栽培第一年瘤突苍耳的AMF侵染侵染率显著高于两种本地植物;而栽培第二年和第三年与两种本地植物的差异不显著,因为两种本地植物的AMF侵染率随种植时间的增加而增加,而瘤突苍耳AMF侵染率受种植时间的影响较小。物种、CO_(2)浓度和种植时间对AMF侵染率的影响与它们对土壤养分和AMF群落的影响有关,土壤养分对AMF侵染率的影响可能比AMF群落组成的影响更大,因为后者也受土壤养分的影响。上述结果表明,与本地植物相比,入侵植物能更快地与AMF形成共生关系,有利于其适应和入侵新生境;在探究全球变化如大气CO_(2)浓度升高等对外来植物入侵的影响时,需要考虑AMF的影响和时间效应。

Microstructure and thermal properties of copper matrix composites reinforced with titanium-coated graphite fibers

Milled form of mesophase pitch-based graphite fibers were coated with a titanium layer using chemical vapor deposition technique and Ti-coated graphite fiber/Cu composites were fabricated by hot-pressing sintering. The composites were characterized with X-ray diffraction, scanning/transmission electron microscopies, and by mea- suring thermal properties, including thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion （CTE）. The results show that the milled fibers are preferentially oriented in a plane perpendicular to the pressing direction, leading to anisotropic thermal properties of the composites. The Ti coating reacted with graphite fiber and formed a continuous and uniform TiC layer. This carbide layer establishes a good metallurgical interracial bonding in the composites, which can improve the thermal properties effectively. When the fiber content ranges from 35 vol% to 50 vol%, the in-plane thermal conductivities of the composites increase from 383 to 407 W.（m.K）-~, and the in-plane CTEs decrease from 9.5 x 10-6 to 6.3 10-6 K-1.

近年来,图表示学习由于其能够更全面地捕捉网络数据的特征,在与各种网络异常检测方法结合后能获得更好的检测结果等特点,逐渐引起网络安全领域的关注.为进一步理清使用图表示学习进行网络安全检测相关工作的研究脉络,本文首先研究了图表示学习的定义,并从基于降维、随机游走和深度学习三类分别介绍目前被广泛使用的图表示学习算法;其次,对公开可用的网络安全数据集按照日志和网络流量、可执行文件、社交和交易网络分类,给出其具体的数据内容;再次,总结了近年来将图表示学习方法应用到网络安全领域的研究成果,给出了模型的基本流程和优缺点分析;最后探讨了目前研究的局限性和未来研究的方向.
