We recruited consecutive patients with stage Ⅲ epithelial ovarian,tubal,and peritoneal cancers who had optimal residual tumor after primary cytoreductive surgery and who received intraperitoneal chemotherapy between 2002 and *** propensity score-matched sample cohorts were *** found that the addition of paclitaxel as a second intraperitoneal agent on a 3-week dosing schedule did not yield significant incremental survival benefits over the intraperitoneal delivery of a single cisplatin-based *** our findings could be confirmed by a prospective randomized study,then it would be interesting to explore the efficacy of shifting back to a dose-dense intraperitoneal delivery of paclitaxel or a dose-dense delivery of a new formulation of paclitaxel for the patients with stage III epithelial ovarian,tubal,and peritoneal cancers.

AIM： The clinical significance of co-infection of SENV-D among patients with chronic hepatitis C （CHC） and response of both viruses to combination therapy with high-dose interferon-alfa （IFN） plus ribavirin remain uncertain and are being ***： Total 164 （97 males and 67 females, the mean age 48.1＋11.4 years, range： 20-73 years, 128 histologically proved） naive CHC patients were enrolled in this study. SENV-D DNA was tested by PCR *** of serum HCV RNA was performed using a standardized automated qualitative RT-PCR assay （COBAS AMPLICOR HCV Test, version 2.0）. HCV genotypes la,lb, 2a, 2b, and 3a were determined by using genotypespecific primers. Pretreatment HCV RNA levels were determined by using the branched DNA assay （Quantiplex HCV RNA 3.0）. There are 156 patients receiving combination therapy with IFN 6 MU plus ribavirin for 24 wk and the response to therapy is ***： Sixty-one （37.2%） patients were positive for SENV-D DNA and had higher mean age than those who were negative （50.7＋ 10.6 years vs 46.6＋ 11.6 years,P = 0.026）. The rate of sustained viral response （SVR） for HCV and SENV-D were 67.3% （105/156） and 56.3% （27/48）, respectively. By univariate analysis, the higher rate of SVR was significantly related to HCV genotype non-1b （P〈0.001）, younger ages （P = 0.014）, lower pretreatment levels of HCV RNA （P = 0.019） and higher histological activity index （HAI） score for intralobular regeneration and focal necrosis （P= 0.037）. By multivariate analyses, HCV genotype non-lb, younger age and lower pretreatment HCV RNA levels were significantly associated with HCV SVR （odds ratio （OR）/95% confidence interval （CI）： 12.098/0.02-0.19, 0.936/0.890-0.998, and 3.131/1.080-9.077, respectively）. The effects of different submerged obstacle longitudinal bars with different arrangement densities on the flow profile and morphology of a scour hole were investigated under clear water conditions. Acoustic Doppler velocimetry(ADV) data were applied to plot the vertical distributions of three-dimensional velocities and turbulent *** experimental results indicate that arrangement density(also can represent porosity),structural material(flexible or solid),and the sidewall effect are the main factors impacting turbulent kinetic energy and the morphology of scour *** flexible vegetation,the maximum turbulent kinetic energy near the bed surface increased with the arrangement *** the same structure,the depth and the magnitude of the lateral expansion of the scour hole also increased with the arrangement *** flexible vegetation reduced the depth of the scour hole because of deflection and arrangement *** larger volumes of scour found in the upstream and middle sections of solid structures compare well to those in flexible *** deflection of porous flexible vegetation transported the turbulent kinetic energy downstream,reduced the turbulent kinetic energy near the sediment bed,and increased the stability of the *** vegetation bars are able to protect the bank and the bed of a river under normal conditions,making them a good alternative design in the management and restoration of rivers.

Although the prevalence of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has declined in renal transplant recipients (RTRs), it remains a relevant clinical problem with high morbidity and mortality in long-term follow up. A thorough evaluation, including liver biopsy as well as assessment of HBV replication in serum (i.e. hepatitis B e antigen and/or HBV DNA) is required before transplantation. Interferon should not be used in this setting because of low efficacy and precipitation on acute allograft rejection. The advent of effective antiviral therapies offers the opportunity to prevent the progression of liver disease after renal transplantation. However, as far as we are aware, no studies have compared prophylactic and preemptive strategies. To date, the majority of RTRs with HBV-related liver disease have had a high virological and biochemical response to lamivudine use. However, lamivudine resistance is frequent with a prolonged course of therapy. Considering long-term treatment, antiviral agents with a high genetic barrier to resistance and lack of nephrotoxicity are suggested. The optimal strategy in RTRs with HBV infection remains to be established in the near future.

Adhesives play an important role in modern society's production and daily *** robust and sustainable adhesives remains a great *** we report a sustainable epoxy-vitrimer adhesive with high adhesive strength(about 10 MPa)and reusability(82%strength after 3 times).This adhesive can be fabricated from commercially available products through a straightforward hot-pressing method without the need of *** adhesive process is also simple,requiring only 30 min at 180℃.In addition,the vitrimer adhesive has the advantages of both erasability for reuse and excellent water *** work provides a facile strategy to fabricate high-strength adhesive that ensures reusability,recyclability,low cost of raw materials,and simple processing ***,it expands the range of potential applications for epoxy vitrimers.

Inorganic relaxor ferroelectric solid solution single crystals are spurring new generations of high performance electromechanical devices,including transducers,sensors,and actuators,due to their ultrahigh electric field induced strain,large piezoelectric constant,high electromechanical coupling factor and low dielectric ***,relaxor ferroelectric single crystals found in organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are very limited,but achieving these superior properties in them will be of great significance in the design of modern functional ***,here the first two-dimensional(2D)organic-inorganic hybrid relaxor ferroelectric single crystal,[Br(CH_(2))_(3)NH_(3)]_(2)PbBr_(4)(BPA_(2)-PbBr_(4),BPA=3-bromopropylamine),achieves some of superior ***,BPA_(2)-PbBr_(4)reveals a successive relaxor ferroelectric-ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transitions accompanying by a large degree of relaxationΔT_(relax)=61 K and ultralow energy loss(tanδ<0.001).Meanwhile,it exhibits a superior second harmonic generation(SHG)effect with maximum value accounts for 95%of the standard KDP due to great deformation of structure(3.2302×10^(-4)).In addition,temperature dependent luminescence spectra(80-415 K)exhibit fluorescence and phosphorescence overlapping emission originated from inorganic and organic components with the nanosecond-scale short lifetime and the millisecond-scale long lifetime,respectively,and the color of the emitted light is continuously adjustable,which is the first to achieve luminescence and relaxor ferroelectricity compatibility.

BACKGROUND Gitelman syndrome(GS)is an autosomal recessive renal tubular disorder characterized by renal wasting hypokalemia,metabolic alkalosis,hypomagnesemia,and *** is usually caused by mutations in the gene SLC12A3,which encodes the thiazide-sensitive Na-Cl *** is not usually diagnosed until late childhood or *** SUMMARY Here,we report the case of a one-year-old girl who was brought to the emergency department due to persistent vomiting for two *** admission to our hospital,generalized weakness was observed,and laboratory investigations revealed severe hypokalemia(1.9 mmol/L).However,persistent hypokalemia was observed during outpatient *** of the GS phenotype was assessed via the patient’s clinical presentation,family history,and biochemical analysis of blood and *** genetic analysis was performed for her and her family by exon-wide sequencing analysis of the gene *** genetic diagnosis of GS was established in the Taiwan region family with three affected individuals,two of whom were children(7 years/17 years)without obvious symptoms,with the youngest being only one year old(patient in our case).CONCLUSION We successfully demonstrated the early diagnosis of GS using family genetic *** instances of hypokalemia should not be neglected,as early detection of GS with suitable treatment can prevent patients from potentially lifethreatening complications.

The incidence of liver injury after coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infection ranged from 15%-53%.The mechanism includes direct viral cytopathic effect,cytokinesis,and treatment drug-induced liver *** symptoms include nausea,vomiting,diarrhea,and loss of *** laboratory results include increased liver enzyme levels,decreased monocyte count,and longer prothrombin *** most common imaging findings are hepatomegaly on ultrasound,ground-glass opacity on chest computed tomography(CT),and liver hypodensity and pericholecystic fat stranding on abdominal *** may also have different presentations and poor outcomes of different liver diseases concomitant with COVID-19 *** function test(LFT)results should be monitored,and all factors known to cause or predispose liver injury should be investigated while managing the *** risks of transfer to an intensive care unit,need for mechanical ventilator support,and acute kidney injury is higher in COVID-19 patients with than without abnormal *** mortality and length of hospital stay are both observed.

Improving cold flow properties of palm fatty acid distillate biodiesel through vacuum distillation

Palm fatty acid distillate(PFAD),a by-product of refining process of crude palm oil can be used as a potential feedstock for biodiesel ***,the application of palm oil-based biodiesel is often hinder by its poor cold flow properties(CFP).Biodiesel fuel with poor CFP may crystallize and result in clogging of fuel lines,filters and injectors that cause engine operability *** that,a vacuum distillation method was designed and its feasibility and efficiency in improving the CFP was examined.A total of 13.60wt%of total saturated fatty acid methyl esters were successfully removed from the PFAD biodiesel,resulting in the improvement of the cloud point(CP),cold filter plugging point(CFPP)and pour point(PP)of PFAD biodiesel from 20℃,19℃,and 15℃to 13℃,11℃,and 9℃,*** is remarkable that the improved CFPP satisfied the requirements for grade C summer biodiesel for temperate climates in EN 14212 ***,Sarin(U FAME)empirical correlation was evaluated and it was found to have a good prediction of CFP for PFAD biodiesel,with lower than 2℃deviation.
