Congenital aortic arch anomalies: diagnosis using contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography

Congenital aortic arch anomalies occur most commonly in children. The disease can be classified into three types： ① obstructive congenital abnormalities, including coarctation of aorta （CoA） and interruption of aortic arch （IAA）; ② nonobstructive congenital abnormalities, including double aortic arch and others; ③ congenital shunt abnormalities, including different types of patent ductus arteriosus （PDA）. Management of patients with congenital aortic arch anomalies relies on imaging. Routine imaging modalities, such as conventional X-ray plain film and transthoracic echocardiography （TTE）, have been recently complemented by magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）.

The mechanism of signal transduction during vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation induced by autoantibodies against angiotensin AT1 receptor from hypertension

Background Autoantibodies against angiotensin AT1 receptor have been discovered in patients with preeclampsia or malignant hypertension. Some studies have demonstrated that the autoantibodies are involved in the immunopathogenesis of hypertension and have an agonist effect similar to angiotensin II. Methods Autoantibodies against AT1 receptor were purified from sera of patients with primary hypertension by affinity chromatography. Proliferation of cultured rat vascular smooth muscle cells was detected by bromodeoxyuridine incorporation and activation of signalling molecules detected by Western blotting and electrophoretic mobility shift assay. Results The AT1-RAb caused a significant proliferation similar to the Ang II during first 24 hours. The levels of nuclear factor-KB （NF-KB）, phosphorylated JAK2., phosphorylated STAT1 （pSTAT1） and phosphorylated STAT3 （pSTAT3） molecules were increased in response to the autoantibodies. In contrast, the activations of NF-KB and JAK-STAT were blocked by Iosartan, pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate （a specific inhibitor of NF-KB） and AG490 （a specific inhibitor of the JAK2. tyrosine kinase）. The expressions of NF-KB, pSTAT1 and pSTAT3 reached peak levels at different times. Moreover, the relative densities of electrophoretic bands showed that activation of pSTAT3 was more significant than STAT1 induced by AT1 -RAb. Conclusions These results suggest that the autoantibodies against AT1 receptor have an agonist effect similar to Ang II in proliferation of VSMCs and the NF-KB and JAK-STAT proteins play essential roles. The effect is different from Angll in that STAT3 is the main downstream activating molecule in JAK-STAT signalling pathway.

The paper presents experimental investigation results of crack pattern change in cement pastes caused by external sulfate attack(ESA).To visualize the formation and development of cracks in cement pastes under ESA,an X-ray computed tomography(X-ray CT)was used,i e,the tomography system of Zeiss Xradia 510 *** results indicate that X-CT can monitor the development process and distribution characteristics of the internal cracks of cement pastes under ESA with attack *** addition,the C3A content in the cement significantly affects the damage mode of cement paste specimens during sulfate *** damage of ordinary Portland cement(OPC)pastes subjected to sulfate attack with high C3A content are severe,while the damage of sulfate resistant Portland cement(SRPC)pastes is much smaller than that of OPC ***,a quadratic function describes the correlation between the crack volume fraction and development depth for two cement pastes immermed in sulfate solution.

Small extracellular vesicles derived from human induced pluripotent stem cell-differentiated neural progenitor cells mitigate retinal ganglion cell degeneration in a mouse model of optic nerve injury

Several studies have found that transplantation of neural progenitor cells(NPCs)promotes the survival of injured ***,a poor integration rate and high risk of tumorigenicity after cell transplantation limits their clinical *** extracellular vesicles(sEVs)contain bioactive molecules for neuronal protection and *** studies have shown that stem/progenitor cell-derived sEVs can promote neuronal survival and recovery of neurological function in neurodegenerative eye diseases and other eye *** this study,we intravitreally transplanted sEVs derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells(hiPSCs)and hiPSCs-differentiated NPCs(hiPSC-NPC)in a mouse model of optic nerve *** results show that these intravitreally injected sEVs were ingested by retinal cells,especially those localized in the ganglion cell *** with hiPSC-NPC-derived sEVs mitigated optic nerve crush-induced retinal ganglion cell degeneration,and regulated the retinal microenvironment by inhibiting excessive activation of *** analysis further revealed that hiPSC-NPC derived sEVs transported neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory miRNA cargos to target cells,which had protective effects on RGCs after optic nerve *** findings suggest that sEVs derived from hiPSC-NPC are a promising cell-free therapeutic strategy for optic neuropathy.

The structure and electronic properties of 8-hydroxyquinolinato manganese(Ⅲ) complex(MnQ,Q=8-hydroxyquinolinato)have been studied theoretically by using density functional theory(DFT).The structure was optimized and the calculation results showed that the Manganese ion was coordinated with one nitrogen atom and one oxygen atom of 8-hydroxyquinolinato *** average bond length of Mn-N is 0.2072nm and of Mn-O is 0.1887nm,which were consistent with crystallographic *** addition,the molecular structure and electronic structural characteristics of the complex have been *** contribution of Mn(Ⅲ)to the frontier molecular orbits are very high,to HOMO is 26.53% and to LUMO is 68.30%.The electro-absorption spectrum of MnQ3 was calculated by time-dependent density functional theory,the calculated results show that the two strong absorption peaks are at 756.8nm and 532.7nm respectively due to the charge transformation from intra-ligand to manganese(Ⅲ). From bi-molecular system,charge was transported from one complex to the neighbor *** intermolecular interaction affects the frontier molecular orbital energy and its composition obviously.

Systematic Acupuncture Explains Acupuncture at Baihui(GV20) and Fengchi(GB20) Targeting the Inflammatory Response to Regulate Migraine

Objective: To take Baihui (GV20) and Fengchi (GB20) targeting inflammatory response to regulate migraine as an example to describe a new method for studying the mechanism of stimulating ***: The target information of Baihui (GV20) and Fengchi (GB20) was retrieved， and after intersection with migraine， Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG)， Reactome， and UniProt Keywords were used for functional enrichment. After selecting the main pathway， rats were selected and nitroglycerin was used for modeling， and the behavioral scores， inflammatory factors， heme oxygenase 1 (HMOX1)， protein kinase B (AKT1)， signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3)， phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (P-ERK1/ERK2) and other states of the rats in the acupuncture， twisting， and electroacupuncture groups were ***: A total of 135 Baihui (GV20) targets and 27 Fengchi (GB20) targets were collected. A total of 73 target information were obtained after the intersection of these targets in migraine. These 73 targets have three main pathways: hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) signaling pathway， signaling by interleukins and inflammatory response. The main targets in the pathway were verified and found that interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β)， interleukin-6 (IL-6)， tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and HMOX1， AKT1， STAT3， P-ERK1/ERK2 can be regulated by Baihui (GV20) and Fengchi (GB20).Conclusion: Baihui (GV20) and Fengchi (GB20) can regulate migraine by regulating inflammatory factors and HMOX1， AKT1， STAT3， P-ERK1/ERK2 and other changes in HIF-1 signaling pathway， Signaling by Interleukins and Inflammatory response pathways. Based on systems biology and network pharmacology， and with the model of "acupoint-target-disease"， explore the research methods of systematic acupuncture and moxibustion. We believe this is a usable research direction for exploring the mechanism of acupuncture stimulation.

Palladium installed copper-organic framework for C–C coupling reactions

The formation of C–C bonds is a crucial aspect of organic synthesis. Synthesists' long-term objective is to identify novel catalysts to optimize reaction systems based on traditional transition metal catalysis. This study explores the synthesis and catalytic potential of palladium-installed covalent metal-organic frameworks(CMOFs) based on copper cyclic trinuclear units(Cu-CTUs). By incorporating palladium ions into the imine-based framework JNM-7 through a straightforward immersion method, we achieved a notable enhancement in catalytic activity for critical C–C coupling reactions, including C–H arylation and Sonogashira cross-coupling. The resulting JNM-7-Pd demonstrated remarkable stability and recyclability, maintaining its efficiency over at least three cycles without any decline in efficiency.

De novo synthesis of atropisomeric benzofurans via Cu/SPDO complex catalyzed asymmetric formal [3 + 2] annulation

Herein, the de novo synthesis of atropisomeric benzofurans through the Cu/spirocyclic-pyrrolidine-oxazoline(SPDO) complex catalyze asymmetric formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition between quinones and ynamides is explored, producing a range of structurally diverse axially chiral benzofurans in satisfactory yields with good to excellent enantioselectivities. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations were applied to explain the possible reaction mechanism.
