In order to overcome many limitations of the conventional power supplies, such as ponderosity, big wastage, and simplex output characteristic, a dual-inverter power supply is designed to meet the different requirements of micro-arc oxidation. The main circuit structure and principle of the dual-inverter power supply for micro-arc oxidation is described, the control system and the control adjustment method are also introduced. The dual-inverter technology is adopted in micro-arc oxidation power supply. The limited bipolar control mode is applied in the power inverter circuit for adjusting the voltage, and various voltage waveform can be obtained by controlling the chopper circuit. Meanwhile, the control accuracy and response speed are improved greatly because of the higher inverter frequency. The power supply can output direct current（DC） waveform, DC pulse waveform, symmetry alternating current（AC） waveform, asymmetry AC waveform, and so on. Besides, the parameters such as pulse width, range, frequency, duty cycle can be adjusted. The experimental result shows that the power supply has many advantages, such as stable output, wonderful waveform consistency and obvious advantage in technique, and it can meet the requirements of micro-arc oxidation process fully.

In this review a series of organic-based open porous networks are discussed, in which hydrogen bonds play an important role in network formation. Using these open networks as molecular templates: 1) a wealth of functional guest species can be immo- bilized; 2) fullerene molecules can be separated and recognized; 3) photoisomerization reactions can be observed by STM; 4) 1D molecular arrays can be constructed; and 5) heterogeneous bilayer structures can be formed. It is envisioned that these su- pramolecular networks might be developed into a new family of useful soft frameworks for studies toward shape-selective ca- talysis, molecular recognition and host-guest supramolecular chemistry.

In view of the difficulty of extracting iron from Bayer red mud,a new idea of adding laterite nickel ore into red mud was proposed to prepare a high value-added *** this,the influences of laterite nickel ore on thermodynamic reaction,slagging and smelting reduction of extracting iron from red mud were *** results indicated that the product of extracting iron from red mud(R100)was changed with the addition of laterite nickel ore(R70L30).The slag of R100 was strongly basic,while the R70L30 was weakly acidic with composition closer to the ideal blast furnace *** metal recovery of R100 was 75.16%and that of R70L30 was 94.05%.At the same temperature,the slag viscosity of R70L30 was significantly lower than that of R100,which proved that laterite nickel ore can adjust the basicity,reduce melting point of slag and improve metal *** Fe,Ni and Cr in red mud and laterite nickel ore can be reduced sufficiently,a low Ni–Cr alloy cast iron can be directly prepared.

Arsenic removal from contaminated soil using phosphoric acid and phosphate

Laboratory batch experiments were conducted to study arsenic （As） removal from a naturally contaminated soil using phosphoric acid （H3PO4） and potassium dihydrogen phosphate （KHEPO4）. Both H3PO4 and KHEPO4 proved to reduce toxicity of the soil in terms of soil As content, attaining more than 20% As removal at a concentration of 200 mmol/L. At the same time, acidification of soil and dissolution of soil components （Ca, Mg, and Si） resulted from using these two extractants, especially H3PO4. The effectiveness of these two extractants could be attributed to the replacement of As by phosphate ions （PO4^3-）. The function of H3PO4 as an acid to dissolve soil components had little effects on As removal. KH2PO4 almost removed as much As as H3PO4, but it did not result in serious damage to soils, indicating that it was a more promising extractant. The results of a kinetic study showed that As removal reached equilibrium after incubation for 360 rain, but dissolution of soil components, especially Mg and Ca, was very rapid. Therefore dissolution of soil components would be inevitable if As was further removed. Elovich model best described the kinetic data of As removal among the four models used in the kinetic study.

Condensation is a phase-change heat-transfer phenomenon crucial in many industries involving latent heat release and mass ***-and-tube condensers are essential contributors to the condensation process,and their tube bundles serve as a ***,the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of condensation in a longitudinal-flow shell-and-tube condenser were investigated *** shell-side longitudinal-flow condensation on the horizontal tube bundles was studied considering inlet flow rate,overheating temperature,and non-condensable *** pressure drops and heat transfer coefficients were subdivided into several components to provide further ***-phase interface behavior analyses were conducted to demonstrate the outcomes with respect to the non-condensable gas layer,vapor quality,and non-condensable gas *** on the thorough quantitative analyses outlined above,the thermal resistance of the condensation on the horizontal tube bundle was *** thermal resistance outside the tube was found to dominate the condensation ***,hexagon clamping baffles(HCBs)were introduced as a novel solution to impair condensate boundary layers and provide perturbations to intensify condensation heat *** results revealed that the HCBs enhanced the total heat transfer coefficients by 8.1%–40.7%while reducing the critical overheating temperature and the threshold ratio between sensible and latent heat.

A pot experiment was conducted to study the effect of an anionic surfactant linear alkylbenzene sulfonate(LAS) application on cadmium(Cd)fractions in soils and Cd distribution in different tissues of soybean(Glycine max)plants as well as soil *** samples were treated with three levels of Cd(0,5,and 10 mg kg^(-1))and five levels of LAS(0,5, 15,50,and 100 mg L^(-1)).Results indicated that compared to the control soils(no Cd and no LAS treatment),soil pH increased and available Cd decreased in the soil treated with external Cd and watered with LAS ***, soil exchangeable Cd and Cd bound to carbonates decreased;Cd bound to amorphous iron and manganese oxides and Cd bound to organic matter *** addition,LAS application could reduce enrichment of Cd in soybean plants, resulting in decreased Cd in the soybean ***,suitable LAS application could decrease bioavailability and mobility of soil Cd.
