Targeting the organelle for radiosensitization in cancer radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is a well-established cytotoxic therapy for local solid cancers, utilizing high-energy ionizing radiation to destroy cancer cells. However, this method has several limitations, including low radiation energy deposition, severe damage to surrounding normal cells, and high tumor resistance to radiation. Among various radiotherapy methods, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has emerged as a principal approach to improve the therapeutic ratio of malignancies and reduce lethality to surrounding normal tissue, but it remains deficient in terms of insufficient boron accumulation as well as short retention time, which limits the curative effect. Recently, a series of radiosensitizers that can selectively accumulate in specific organelles of cancer cells have been developed to precisely target radiotherapy, thereby reducing side effects of normal tissue damage, overcoming radioresistance, and improving radiosensitivity. In this review, we mainly focus on the field of nanomedicine-based cancer radiotherapy and discuss the organelle-targeted radiosensitizers, specifically including nucleus, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum and lysosomes. Furthermore, the organelle-targeted boron carriers used in BNCT are particularly presented. Through demonstrating recent developments in organelle-targeted radiosensitization, we hope to provide insight into the design of organelle-targeted radiosensitizers for clinical cancer treatment.

Efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy combined with habit reversal training on anxiety disorders in children with Tourette’s syndrome

BACKGROUND Cognitive-behavioral therapy(CBT)and habit reversal training(HRT)have shown application potential in addressing tic symptoms and comorbid psychiatric *** their theoretical potential,empirical evidence on their combined efficacy remains *** To evaluate the efficacy of CBT combined with HRT on anxiety disorders in children with Tourette’s syndrome(TS).METHODS Clinical data of children with TS admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to June 2023 were collected,and the patients were grouped into the conventional therapy(control)group and the CBT combined with HRT *** charac-teristics,anxiety scores,tic severity scores,treatment adherence,and parental satisfaction were *** analysis was performed using t-tests,chi-square tests,and correlation *** A total of 136 patients,including 65 patients in the control group and 71 patients in the CBT combined with HRT group,were *** CBT combined with HRT group showed remarkable improvements compared with the control ***-intervention assessment revealed a decrease in anxiety scores from 63.52±1.81 to 40.53±1.64(t=2.022,P=0.045),and the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale total score decreased from 22.14±5.67 to 16.28±4.91(t=2.288,P=0.024).Treatment adherence was significantly higher in the CBT combined with HRT group(85.47±7.62%)compared with the control group(82.32±6.54%;t=2.596,P=0.010).Parental satisfaction scores were also higher in the CBT combined with HRT group(8.69±1.77)compared with the control group(7.87±1.92;t=2.592,P=0.011).CONCLUSION This study demonstrates that CBT combined with HRT significantly reduces anxiety symptoms and tic severity in children with TS,with higher treatment adherence and parental *** findings support the potential application of this comprehensive therapeutic approach for TS treatment.

Pd-based metallic nanosheets with advanced physicochemical properties have been widely prepared and employed in various electrocatalytic ***,few concerns were focused on their multiple performances in different ***,highly curved and ultrathin PdNiRu nanosheets(NSs)are developed by facile wet-chemistry strategy and exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance toward both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR).Owing to the synergistically structural(e.g.,ultrathin,curved,defects/steps-rich)and compositional(ternary alloy)advantages,PdNiRu NSs exhibited enhanced ORR and EGOR specific/mass activities and better stability/durability than control *** specific activity(5.52 mA·cm^(−2))and mass activity(1.13 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))of the PdNiRu NSs in ORR are 4.8 and 3.4 times as the ones of commercial Pt/C,*** mass activity of PdNiRu NSs(3.86 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))in EGOR is 2.6 times as commercial Pd/C(1.51 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1)).This study is helpful for the development of desired electrocatalysts with multi-functional application in practical fuel cells.

A_(2)B_(7)-type La-Mg-Ni alloys prepared by Mg thermal diffusion for improved hydrogen storage performance

A novel approach based on thermal diffusion was used to achieve controllable Mg content in A_(2)B_(7)-type La-Mg-Ni-based *** formation mechanism of the A_(2)B_(7)-type phase as a result of the thermal diffusion process and the effect of Mg content on hydrogen storage performance were investigated.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns and Rietveld refinement results showed that increased Mg transformed the LaNi_(5)phase in the La_(0.74)Sm_(0.03)Y_(0.23)Ni_(4.32)Al_(0.04)precursor alloy into a superlattice *** electron microscopy(SEM)images showed that Mg was evenly distributed in the alloy *** in the superlattice significantly inhibited the phase decomposition of the superlattice structure during the hydrogen absorption/desorption *** A_(2)B_(7)-type La_(0.57)Sm_(0.02)Y_(0.18)Mg_(0.23)Ni_(3.38)Al_(0.03)alloy composed of Gd_(2)Co_(7)and Ce_(2)Ni_(7)phases was successfully *** pressure-composition isotherm profiles showed that the alloy had a hydrogen storage capacity as high as 1.73 wt%,with good cycling *** 50 cycles of hydrogen absorption/desorption,the alloy retained a hydrogen storage capacity of 1.45 wt%,with a capacity retention rate of up to 84.28%.The Mg thermal diffusion process thus provides a new approach for the controlled preparation of La-Mg-Ni-based alloys.

目的分析胰腺癌患者全身免疫炎症指数(SII)与临床特征之间的关系及SII影响因素。方法回顾分析2018年1月至2023年1月贵州医科大学附属医院肝胆外科98例行R0切除的胰腺癌患者资料,其中男性54例,女性44例,年龄(59.2±10.7)岁。98例患者依据术前SII的中位数668分为高SII组(n=49)和低SII组(n=49)。比较两组术前白蛋白、肿瘤位于胰头比例、术前总胆红素、住院时间等。分析SII与临床特征的相关性。采用单因素与多因素线性回归分析胰腺癌患者SII影响因素。结果高SII组胰腺癌患者术前白蛋白低于低SII组,肿瘤位于胰头比例、术前总胆红素、住院时间高于低SII组,差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。相关性分析显示术前白蛋白与SII呈负相关(r=-0.28,P=0.050),术前总胆红素与SII呈正相关(r=0.36,P<0.001),住院时间与SII呈正相关(r=0.28,P=0.050)。肿瘤位于胰头(n=81)与胰体尾(n=17)的患者SII分别为734(418,1241)、431(276,613),出院时生存(n=92)和死亡(n=4)患者的SII分别为628(383,1113)、1283(1176,1507),不同肿瘤位置和不同出院状态患者的SII比较,差异均有统计学意义(Z=-2.51、2.05,P=0.012、0.038)。单因素线性回归筛选变量,结果显示术前总胆红素、肿瘤体积、术前白蛋白与SII水平相关(均P<0.05)。将上述变量纳入多因素线性回归,胰腺癌患者术前总胆红素越高(β=2.74,95%CI:1.48~4.00,P<0.001)以及肿瘤体积越大(β=2.34,95%CI:1.04~3.63,P<0.001),SII值越高。结论胰腺癌患者SII与术前白蛋白、肿瘤位置、术前总胆红素、住院时间、出院时生存或死亡相关。术前总胆红素及肿瘤体积是胰腺癌患者SII的影响因素。

Background Respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)is the leading global cause of respiratory infections and is responsible for about 3 million hospitalizations and more than 100,000 deaths annually in children younger than 5 years,representing a major global healthcare *** is a great unmet need for new agents and universal strategies to prevent RSV infections in early life.A multidisciplinary consensus development group comprising experts in epidemiology,infectious diseases,respiratory medicine,and methodology aims to develop the current consensus to address clinical issues of RSV infections in *** sources The evidence searches and reviews were conducted using electronic databases,including PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and the Cochrane Library,using variations in terms for"respiratory syncytial virus","RSV","lower respiratory tract infection","bronchiolitis","acute","viral pneumonia","neonatal","infant""children",and"pediatric".Results Evidence-based recommendations regarding diagnosis,treatment,and prevention were proposed with a high degree of *** supportive care remains the cornerstone for the management of RSV infections,new monoclonal antibodies,vaccines,drug therapies,and viral surveillance techniques are being rolled *** This consensus,based on international and national scientific evidence,reinforces the current recommendations and integrates the recent advances for optimal care and prevention of RSV *** improvements in the management of RSV infections will require generating the highest quality of evidence through rigorously designed studies that possess little bias and sufficient capacity to identify clinically meaningful end points.

在全面依法治国和加快法治中国建设过程中,地区经济的融合发展日益深入,区域协同立法既是地方法制建设的必然结果,也是目前我国法治建设的一个创新领域。第二次立法法修改增设了区域协同立法制度,这是对我国立法工作实践经验的总结与国家区域协调发展战略的贯彻。当下我国已形成了多样化的区域协同立法实践,但立法工作机制、公众参与制度、区域内地方利益协调等方面还存在一定的问题。区域协同立法制度的完善,应当重点从发挥全国人大及其常委会在立法中的协调作用,加强公众参与制度和完善政绩考核机制展开。

数字经济发展正深刻改变当下的全球贸易格局,对提升出口企业乃至整个产业国际竞争力有着重要意义。本文基于异质性企业模型并使用2004~2013年中国工业企业数据库和海关数据库匹配的样本,从理论与实证两方面研究数字经济发展对出口企业加成率以及资源配置效率的影响。研究发现:数字经济发展显著提升出口企业加成率,该结论在经过内生性问题处理和一系列稳健性检验后依然成立。机制检验表明,生产成本和生产率是数字经济发挥作用的两条重要渠道。异质性分析表明,数字经济发展提升了东部地区、资本密集型、技术密集型、非国有出口企业和低制度壁垒地区出口企业加成率。进一步分析表明,数字经济发展降低了出口企业加成率离散度,显著优化了资源配置效率。本文的研究结论对推动对外贸易高质量发展有着重要启示。
