BACKGROUND Urinary tract lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma is rarely *** it is termed after lymphoepithelioma at the nasopharynx,it behaves more like high grade urothelial carcinoma by immunohistochemical *** published literatures focused on its rarity but few discussed results of long-term *** no available guidelines are applicable,we postulated that principles should be similar to that of urothelial carcinoma at urinary *** of now,this work features the longest follow-up of this cancer at the upper urinary *** SUMMARY A 63-year-old female had a chief complaint of intermittent left flank pain for 2 mo,along with accompanying symptoms including vomiting and body weight loss,about 7 kg over 2 *** data showed normocytic anemia,mildly poor renal function,and *** analysis showed mild *** tomography showed a 4.2-cm-width irregular mass over left renal pelvic and enlarged lymph node at the left renal ***-body bone scan was negative of active bone *** from ureteroscopy showed urothelial *** from laparoscopic nephroureterectomy with bladder cuff resection showed lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma with muscular invasion(pT3).She took adjuvant chemotherapies of 2 cycles and full courses of radiation *** recurrence was observed with designed investigative *** Locally advanced urinary tract lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma could benefit from nephroureterectomy and bladder cuff excision in terms of recurrence-free survival.

This paper introduces a scalable virtual learning environment of the ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong;an explicitly geographical, immersive, and sharable 3Dlearning space with comprehensive social elements. It is characterized by multiuser collaborative modeling, group learning approaches of geo-collaboration,social space-oriented hierarchical avatars, and knowledge exchanging and sharingbased on virtual geographic experiments. Applications for the purpose of publiceducation and virtual geographic experiment, and indicated future works provethe possibility to offer a greater opportunity to foster interdisciplinary collaborations, revitalize teaching patterns and learning contents, improve learners’cognitive abilities to solve problems, and enhance their understanding of scientificconcepts and processes.

Metal clusters with photoswitching ligands can undergo magnetic changes under light radiation,which makes them potential optical-response magnetic-switching ***,a photoswitchable Mn-oxo cluster[Mn^(II)_(15)Mn^(III)_(4)(L)_(18)(OH)_(12)(N_(3))_(6)](ClO_(4))_(2)(C_(6)H_(5)CN)_(8),(Mn19azo,HL=1-(hydroxymethyl)-3,5-dimethyl-4-(phenyldiazenyl)-pyrazole)has been designed and synthesized to realize the photoswitching ***19azo shows quick trans-to-cis transformation upon 365 nm light irradiation in CH2Cl2 solution and solid state as confirmed by UV-Vis *** the powder sample was irradiated for 80 min,the Curie constant of Mn19azo increases by about 7%.The change of magnetic properties can be considered as the result of the change of intermolecular interactions.

The creep behavior of the plasma sprayed NiCr and NiCrA1 coating/Nickel alloy 690 substrate systems at 1033 K was investigated. Results showed that there was almost no difference in the creep lives between the NiCr and NiCrA1 coated specimens at a given stress level, since the contents of Cr used in the NiCr and NiCrA1 powders are almost same. The relationship between the minimum creep rate and the applied stress followed the well-known Norton＇s power law, εmin=Aσ^n, with the values of A=2.66×10^-16 MPa^-n·h^-1 and n=6.48. The relation between the applied stress and time to rupture of the coated specimens can be estimated by using Larson-Miller equation. The θ projection method can be used to accurately characterize the creep behavior of the coated specimens.

Obesity is a critical health issue *** a long time,the concept of drinking tea for health and pleasure is widely *** strain of Andraca theae lives on the tea leaf and the bioactivity of its metabolites in the feces is unknown ***,the objective of this study was to investigate whether the extract of tea(Taiwan Tea Experiment Station No.12(TE))and its metabolites from Andraca theae(TME)could prevent obesity in the high fat diet-induced obese *** results showed that TE had higher concentrations of epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG)and caffeine than that from *** significantly decreased abdominal adipose tissue,especially epididymal fat via increasing preadipocyte factor 1(Pref-1),SRY(sex determining region Y)-box 9(SOX-9)and decreasing peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorγ(PPARγ),CCAAT/enhancer binding protein(C/EBP)β,C/EBPαand C/EBPβprotein *** together,these results suggest that the content of tea polyphenols in TE play an important role for alleviating abdominal fat.

Aim： To determine if robot-assisted varicocelectomy can be safely and effectively performed when compared to microscopic inguinal varicocelectomy. Methods： Eight patients aged 29.1 ± 12.5 years underwent microscopic subinguinal varicocelectomies： seven patients with left-sided repair, and one patient with bilateral repair. Eight patients aged 22.0 ±8.0 years underwent robot-assisted varicocelectomies： seven patients with left-sided repair and one patient with bilateral repair. Results： The average operative time for microscopic inguinal varicocelectomy was 73.9 ±12.2 min, whereas the robot-assisted technique took 71.1± 21.1 min. There were no difficulties in identifying and isolating vessels and the vas deferens with robot-assisted subinguinal varicocelectomy. Hand tremor was eliminated using the robotic procedure. Patients who underwent either microscopic or robot-assisted varicocelectomies were able to resume daily activities on the day of surgery and full activities within 2 weeks. There were no complications or recurrences of varicocele. Conclusion： From our experience, compared to microscopic surgery, robot-assisted varicocelectomy can be safely and effectively performed, with the added benefit of eliminating hand tremor.

Isolating reductive silver kernel from shell is a challenging task but is quite important to understand the embryonic form during the formation of silver *** intercalation of suitable anionic species may be of benefit for passivating then capturing such highly active ***,we successfully isolated a novel silver thiolate nanocluster[Ag_(13)@Ag_(76)S_(16)(Cyh S)_(42)(p-NH_(2)-Ph As O_(3))_(4)]^(3+)(SD/Ag89 a,Cyh SH=cyclohexanethiol)that contains a well-isolated icosahedral Ag_(13) kernel passivated by four Ag S_(4)^(7-) tetrahedra and four p-NH_(2) Ph As O_(3)^(2-) piercing from outer Ag_(72) *** note,this Ag_(13) kernel is the largest isolable subvalent silver kernel beneath the silver shell with extremely legible core-shell boundary ever before and represents a precise embryonic model formed in the reducing Ag(I)to Ag(0)followed by aggregating to large silver *** reductive role of DMF and the introduction of anionic passivation layer(APL)synergistically modulate the reduction kinetics,facilitating the capture of ultrasmall subvalent silver ***/Ag89 a emits in near infrared(NIR)region(λ_(em)=800 nm)at low *** synthetic strategy shown in this work opens up new opportunities for precisely capturing and recognizing diverse reductive silver kernels in different systems.

The soil-borne necrotrophic fungus Rhizoctonia solani is one of destructive fungi causing severe yield losses in various important crops. However, the host defense mechanisms against the invasion of this pathogen are poorly understood. In this study, we employed an i TRAQ-based quantitative proteomic approach to investigate host proteins responsive to R. solani using the resistant rice cultivar YSBR1. As a whole, we identified 319 differentially accumulated proteins(DAPs) after inoculation of rice plants with R. solani. Functional categorization analysis indicates that these DAPs cover a broad range of functions. Notably, a substantial portion of the DAPs are involved in cell redox homeostasis, carbohydrate metabolism, and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, or belong to pathogenesis-related proteins, indicating that these processes/proteins play important roles in host defense against R. solani. Interestingly, all of the DAPs involved in photosynthesis and chlorophyll biosynthetic processes, and part of the DAPs involved in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, show reduced accumulation after R. solani infection, suggesting that R. solani probably inhibits host photosynthetic system and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis to facilitate infection and colonization. In conclusion, our results provide both valuable resources and new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying rice and R. solani interaction.

Renewable portfolio targets have been established in many regions around the world. Regional targets such as 20% renewable energy by year 2020 are not uncommon. As the levels of wind power penetration increase, there are many power system impacts. This work investigated possible challenges and technical requirements for high penetration of wind power systems. The main issues to discuss covers reserve determination, wind power forecasting, unit commitment with appropriate generation portfolio, wind turbine and storage system technical development, demand response management, electricity market design, and frequency stability.
