Diamond is a material of choice in the pursuit of integrated quantum photonic *** far,the majority of photonic devices fabricated from diamond are made from(100)-oriented *** this work,we demonstrate a methodology for the fabrication of optically active membranes from(111)-oriented *** use a liftoff technique to generate membranes,followed by chemical vapor deposition of diamond in the presence of silicon to generate homogenous silicon vacancy color centers with emission properties that are superior to those in(100)-oriented *** further use the diamond membranes to fabricate microring resonators with quality factors exceeding^*** by finite-difference time-domain calculations,we discuss the advantages of(111)-oriented structures as building blocks for quantum nanophotonic devices.

A 90th birthday would be a milestone celebration for any person,but exceptionally rare if the person is still active after 75 years of working and serving the photogrammetric and remote sensing communities *** unprecedented career is the motivation to reflect on the technological developments of the past 75 years in the light of Gottfried Konecny’s lifetime achievements.I started to get to know Gottfried not long before he officially retired from the Institute for Photogrammetry and Engineering Surveys in ***,I was not even born when he,as a young and talented scholar supported by the Fulbright Scholarship from the US Government,arrived at the Ohio State University(OSU),which has been my professional home for three *** the second half of Gottfried’s 75-year career,the technological changes have been phenomenal,and,furthermore,shown an accelerating trend in the past few *** is absolutely remarkable how Gottfried has been able to keep up with these rapid changes and advancing technologies and exploits them for mapping and,in general,for all the users of the geospatial field at ***,his open-minded and kind personality has been always a major plus to his technical skills and experiences,and ultimately helped him assist many colleagues to advance their careers,and along the way developed and increased the use of geospatial data and systems in support of many countries worldwide.

Brillouin spectroscopy is a powerful tool for measuring the mechanical properties of materials without *** sensitivity to mechanical changes that a Brillouin spectrometer can detect is determined by the precision to which a spectral peak can be *** localization precision is however fundamentally limited by the low mumber of photons within a Brillouin measurement,as wel as by intrinsic noise of the ***,we present a method to improve the spectral sensitivity of Brillouin measurements by exploiting the autocorelation function of the *** show that by performing a localization process on the autocorrelation function nearly 20%increase in localizat ion precision can be *** result is consistent bet ween our theoretical treatment,numerical simulation and experimental *** further study the efect of back-ground noise on the precision im provement for realistic scenarios.

We introduce and study a sequence of geometric invariants for convex bodies in finite-dimensional spaces, which is in a sense dual to the sequence of mean Minkowski measures of symmetry proposed by the second author. It turns out that the sequence introduced in this paper shares many nice properties with the sequence of mean Minkowski measures, such as the sub-arithmeticity and the upper-additivity. More meaningfully, it is shown that this new sequence of geometric invariants, in contrast to the sequence of mean Minkowski measures which provides information on the shapes of lower dimensional sections of a convex body, provides information on the shapes of orthogonal projections of a convex body. The relations of these new invariants to the well-known Minkowski measure of asymmetry and their further applications are discussed as well.

The purpose of this study is to investigate and quantify the influence of nanoparticle composition,size,and concentration on the difference between dose enhancement values derived from Monte Carlo simulations with homogeneous and structured geometrical representations of the target region in metal nanoparticle-enhanced photon *** of the dose enhancement factor(DEF)were calculated for Pd-103,I-125,and Cs-131 brachytherapy sources with gold,silver,or platinum nanoparticles acting as targeting *** were performed using the Geant4 toolkit with condensed history models of electron *** limits were imposed on adjustable parameters that define secondary electron histories,so that simulations came closest to true event-byevent electron tracking,thereby allowing part of the nanoparticle-laden volume used for calculating the dose to be represented as a structured region with uniformly distributed discrete ***-tuned physical models of secondary radiation emission and propagation,along with the discrete geometrical representation of nanoparticles,result in a more realistic assessment of dose *** DEF correction coefficient is introduced as a metric that quantifies the absorption of secondary radiation inside the nanoparticles themselves,a phenomenon disregarded when the target region is treated as a homogeneous metal–tissue mixture,but accounted for by discrete nanoparticle *** approach applied to correcting DEF values both draws from and expands upon several related investigations published *** of the obtained results to those found in relevant references shows both agreement and deviation,depending on nanoparticle properties and photon energy.

This paper is aimed to show the influence of initial chemical pretreatment prior to subsequent plasma activation of aluminum *** results of our study showed that the state of the topmost surface layer（*** surface morphology and chemical groups）of plasma modified aluminum significantly depends on the chemical *** used chemicals（isopropanol,trichlorethane,solution of Na OH in deionized water）were used as precleaning *** plasma treatments were done using a radio frequency driven atmospheric pressure plasma pencil developed at Masaryk University,which operates in Ar,Ar/O_2 gas *** effectiveness of the plasma treatment was estimated by the wettability measurements,showing high wettability improvement already after 0.3 s *** effects of surface cleaning（hydrocarbon removal）,surface oxidation and activation（generation of OH groups）were estimated using infrared *** changes in the surface morphology were measured using scanning electron *** emission spectroscopy measurements in the near-to-surface region with temperature calculations showed that plasma itself depends on the sample precleaning procedure.

Cyberbullying is a form of harassment or bullying that takes place online or through digital devices like smartphones,computers,or *** can occur through various channels,such as social media,text messages,online forums,or gaming *** involves using technology to intentionally harm,harass,or intimidate others and may take different forms,including exclusion,doxing,impersonation,harassment,and ***,due to the rapid growth of malicious internet users,this social phenomenon is becoming more frequent,and there is a huge need to address this ***,the main goal of the research proposed in this manuscript is to tackle this emerging challenge.A dataset of sexist harassment on Twitter,containing tweets about the harassment of people on a sexual basis,for natural language processing(NLP),is used for this *** algorithms are used to transform the text into a meaningful representation of numbers for machine learning(ML)input:Term frequency inverse document frequency(TF-IDF)and Bidirectional encoder representations from transformers(BERT).The well-known eXtreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)ML model is employed to classify whether certain tweets fall into the category of sexual-based harassment or ***,with the goal of reaching better performance,several XGBoost models were devised conducting hyperparameter tuning by *** this purpose,the recently emerging Coyote optimization algorithm(COA)was modified and adjusted to optimize the XGBoost ***,other cutting-edge metaheuristics approach for this challenge were also implemented,and rigid comparative analysis of the captured classification metrics(accuracy,Cohen kappa score,precision,recall,and F1-score)was ***,the best-generated model was interpreted by Shapley additive explanations(SHAP),and useful insights were gained about the behavioral patterns of people who perform social harassment.

Hybrid systems such as Cyber Physical System(CPS)are becoming increasingly popular,mainly due to the involvement of information technology in different aspects of *** analysis and verification of hybrid system models,simulation is used *** parts of a common hybrid system may belong to different domains of study,it is sometimes beneficial to use specialized simulation packages(SPs)for each *** this case,parts of a system are simulated in different *** idea may seem simple,but coupling more than one simulation component presents challenges related to numerical *** presented article suggests an implicit solver coupling technique enhanced to facilitate simulation of hybrid models using multiple simulation *** technique is developed using two of the most popular simulation interoperability standards,namely,the High Level Architecture and the Functional Mock-up *** using these standards,the developed algorithm will be useful for a large number of practitioners and *** developed algorithm is described using a generic distributed computation model,which makes it reproducible even without using the *** the verification of results,the algorithm is tested on two case *** results are compared to a monolithic simulator and the proximity of results initiates the validity of the developed algorithm.
