BACKGRoUND Neoadjuvant treatment has become a standard of care for borderline or locally advanced pancreatic cancer and is increasingly considered even for up-front resectable *** aim of this article is to present the case of a 62-year-old patient with locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma who was successfully treated with gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel after the failure of the first line *** SUMMARY Computerized tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a nodular lesion of ill-defined limits in the body of the pancreas,measuring approximately 4.2 cm×2.7 cm,with an infiltrative *** tumor had contact with the superior mesenteric vein,splenomesenteric junction and the proximal segment of the splenic artery,causing focal reduction of its *** to vascular involvement,neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment with eight cycles of“folinic acid,5-fluorouracil,irinotecan and oxa-liplatine”(FoLFIRINoX)were *** the end of the cycles,surgery was performed,but the procedure was interrupted due to finding of lesions suspected of *** plus nab-paclitaxel was then successfully used for neoadjuvant treatment with subsequent R0 surgical *** Gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel may be effective as an alternative regimen when FoLFIRINoX fails as the first line of treatment,suggesting the need for further studies to identify which patients would benefit from each type of therapeutic approach.

Rare-earth silicates are promising environmental barrier coatings(EBCs)that can protect SiC_(f)/Si C_(m)substrates in next-genera tion gas turbine ***,RE_(2)Si_(2)o_(7)(RE=Yb and Ho)shows potential as an EBC due to its coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE)compatible with substrates and high resistance to water vapor *** target operating temperature for next-generation tur bine blades is 1400°*** is inevitable during adhesion to molten volcanic ash,and thus,understanding the corrosion behavior o the material is crucial to its *** study investigates the high-temperature corrosion behavior of sintered RE_(2)Si_(2)o_(7)(RE=Yb and Ho).Samples were prepared using a solid-state reaction and hot-press *** were then exposed to volcanic ash at 1400°C for 224,and 48 *** 48 h of exposure,volcanic ash did not react with Yb_(2)Si_(2)o_(7)but penetrated its interior,causing *** Ho_(2)Si_(2)o_(7)was partially dissolved in the molten volcanic ash,forming a reaction zone that prevented volcanic ash melts from penetrating the *** increasing heat treatment time,the reaction zone expanded,and the thickness of the acicular apatite grains increased The Ca:Si ratios in the residual volcanic ash were mostly unchanged for Yb_(2)Si_(2)o_(7)but decreased considerably over time for Ho_(2)Si_(2)o_(7).Th Ca in volcanic ash was consumed and formed apatite,indicating that RE^(3+)ions with large ionic radii(Ho>Yb)easily precipitated apatit from the volcanic ash.

Antimicrobial resistance(AMR)poses a critical threat to global health and development,with environmental factors—particularly in urban areas—contributing significantly to the spread of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs).However,most research to date has been conducted at a local level,leaving significant gaps in our understanding of the global status of antibiotic resistance in urban *** address this issue,we thoroughly analyzed a total of 86,213 ARGs detected within 4,728 metagenome samples,which were collected by the Meta SUB International Consortium involving diverse urban environments in 60 cities of 27 countries,utilizing a deep-learning based *** findings demonstrated the strong geographical specificity of urban environmental resistome,and their correlation with various local socioeconomic and medical *** also identified distinctive evolutionary patterns of ARG-related biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)across different countries,and discovered that the urban environment represents a rich source of novel *** study provides a comprehensive overview of the global urban environmental resistome,and fills a significant gap in our knowledge of large-scale urban antibiotic resistome analysis.

Towards a sustainable technology for production of extra-pure Ti metal:Electrolysis of sulfurized Ti(C,N)in molten CaCl_(2)

A new concept for producing highly pure Ti metal powder from ilmenite(FeTio)_(3))is proposed in this *** nitride(TiN)or titanium oxycarbonitride(Tio_(x)C_(y)N_(z))could be synthesized in the first step via the simultaneous carbothermal reduction and nitridation(CTRN)of FeTio3 to remove oxygen *** separate oxygen completely,high-quality TiS2 samples were then synthesized from TiN and TiC using S2 gas,and the clean sulfides were finally reduced toα-Ti powders with spherical morphology using electrolysis in molten CaCl_(2).Xray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)in conjunction with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and elemental LECo analysis were used to study the phases and microstructures of the sulfides and the electrochemically reduced *** Ti powder showed no carbon contamination and consisted of high-purity foil-like Ti sheets with very low oxygen,carbon,and nitrogen contents of less than 0.15 wt%o,0.02 wt%C,and 0.003 wt%N,*** quality of the Ti powder was much higher than that of the powder obtained using the conventional oS process(proposed by *** and ***)starting directly from the oxides.

通过对日本岐阜县、爱知县、东京都三个区域的服务型老年公寓的入住老人进行问卷调研,解析老人的入住理由和服务型老年公寓位置选择模式,提出合理规划建设服务型老年公寓的策略建议。结果显示老人在选择服务型老年公寓时,重视离自己及子女居住地近的要素,并在实际入住时,呈现相同趋势。城市化水平不同的区域,入住老人的护理等级,入住理由和服务型老年公寓位置选择模式呈现差异性。根据区域特征差异,分别提出相应规划建设策略。在我国老龄化程度日益严峻的社会背景之下,探讨日本服务型老年公寓的规划建设策略,从中汲取经验,对完善我国老年公寓规划建设,实现老年人居住环境高质量发展具有重要的启示意义。

A novel ascosporogenous yeast species,Zygosaccharomyces siamensis,and the sugar tolerant yeasts associated with raw honey collected in Thailand

The scope and aim of this work is to describe the two-body interaction mediated by a particle （either the scalar or the gauge boson） within the light-front formulation. To do this, first of all we point out the importance of propagators and Green functions in Quantum Mechanics. Then we project the covariant quantum propagator onto the light front time to get the propagator for scalar particles in these coordinates. This operator propagates the wave function from x＋ = 0 to x＋〉 0. It corresponds to the definition of the time ordering operation in the light front time x＋. We calculate the light-front Green＇s function for 2 interacting bosons propagating forward in x＋. We also show how to write down the light front Green＇s function from the Feynman propagator and finally make a generalization to N bosons.

Effect of stirring on preparation of hollow copolymer particles by alkali/cooling method

Hollow particles were prepared by the treatment of styrene-metbacrylic acid copolymer particles with alkali/cooling method. The influences of stirring position （in aqueous phase or at the interface of o/W） and stirring speed （90, 110 and 240 r/min） on the formation of hollow particles were investigated. It is found that the soft stirring in aqueous phase at 90 r/min leads to the formation of monohollow particles, while the violent stirring at the interface of o/W and 240 r/min gives non-hollow products. In contrast, the weak stirring in aqueous phase at 110 r/min results in sterically heterogeneous dispersion of methacrylic acid-rich regions within the original particles, and hence the formation of multihollow particles. Further investigation indicates that the change of stirring efficiency provides a way to tune the diffusion behavior of monomer styrene, and therefore influences the distribution of methacrylic acid units in the original particles as well as the morphology of the treated particles.

Up-grading of natural ilmenite ore by combining oxidation and acid leaching

Rutile （Tio2） is heavily used in pigments mid colormlts, mid the most abundmlt source of rutile is ilmeinte. Upon oxidation of ilmeinte, mtile cml be formed wiffl modest energy consumption; furfflermore, after leaching, only a few byproducts are formed. Unfortunate- ly, one drawback is file necessarily long oxidative process of typically used mefflods. In fflis study, we show fflat a fluidized bed reactor cml be used to oxidize ilmeinte ore to rapidly form ruffle mid pseudobrookite （Fe2Tios） phases. Ilmeinte was oxidized wiffl 5vo1% 02 in Ar at temperatures of 1173 K or 1223 K mid subsequently leached using a diluted H2So4 solution to dissolve file pseudobrookite phase. The effects of acid concentration, temperature, mid cooling rate after oxidation were investigated. We show fflat file ilmeinte was rapidly oxidized to form rutile mid pseudobrookite phases at 1173 mid 1223 K in a 5vo1% o2/95vo1% Ar environment wifflin 40 min. The fmal maximum mtile yield was 84.2mo1% after leaching in （1 ＋ 1） H2So4 solution at 393 K for 12 h.
