Transcatheter Ventricular septal Defect Closure with Nit-Occlud LêVsD Device—Five Years’Experience and Literature Review

Introduction:Transcatheter closure is an alternative to ventricular septal defect(VsD)occlusion ***-Occlud LêVsD coil is a new device yet to be *** study aimed to evaluate immediate and midterm results after transcatheter closure with the Nit-Occlud LêVsD ***:The retrospective analysis included 30 patients with VsD referred for closure during the period from October 2015 to December ***:At the time of intervention,the patients’mean age and body weights were 7.5±5.6 years and 29.3±19.1 *** majority of the defects had perimembranous location(24/30),four defects had muscular and two outlet subaortic *** mean effective right-side diameter of the VsDs was 3.6±1.3 *** ventricular fibrillation,device embolization,and hemolysis developed in different patients and were successfully *** of the patients had a complete atrioventricular *** coil was successfully placed in 25/30(83.3%)*** majority of the devices were 10 mm×6 mm(11/25)and 12 mm×8 mm(8/25)in *** patients required the implantation of a second *** follow-up period was 2.1±1.4 *** VsD closure was achieved in 48%of cases immediately after the intervention,74%during 2.1±1.6 months after the procedure,and 81%over *** remaining patients had a trivial residual *** the follow-up,approximately one-third of patients developed trivial aortic and mitral valve regurgitation,and half of the patients acquired trace/mild tricuspid ***(z-score)left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(0.15±0.37 vs.0.92±0.82,p=0.005)and left atrium dimension(0.47±0.58 vs.1.89±1.11,p=0.005),as well as the left atrium to aortic root ratio(1.2±0.1 vs.1.4±0.2,p=0.005)showed a significant decrease over follow-up related to the period before ***:Intervention with Nit-OccludLêVsD coil showed appropriate results regarding VsD closure rate,complications,and chamber *** introduction of t

Objective:To elucidate the relationship among knowledge,attitudes,and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status among women with ***:This questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was performed online and offline among women with infertility who visited an infertility clinic in Jakarta,*** assessed the patient’s knowledge,attitudes,and practices regarding Covid-19 and their relationship with booster vaccination status and sociodemographic ***:A total of 178 subjects participated in this study,and most participants(92.6%)had received booster Covid-19 *** the questionnaire,74.2%had good knowledge,and 99.4%had good attitudes regarding Covid-19;however,only 57.9%of patients had good practices.A weak positive correlation existed between knowledge and attitudes(r=0.11,P=0.13)and a moderate negative correlation between attitudes and practices(r=-0.44,P=0.56).Participants’knowledge about vaccines and infertility was correlated with booster vaccination status(P=0.04).Academic background(P=0.01)and attitudes(P=0.01)were also correlated with booster vaccination *** significant determinants of hesitance of receiving Covid-19 booster vaccines were high school education or below(OR=0.08,95%CI 0.02-0.36)and poor practices(OR=0.21,95%CI 0.05-0.95).Conclusions:The majority of the participants had received the Covid-19 booster vaccine and had good knowledge and attitudes but poor practices regarding *** participants had poor knowledge about the relationship between infertility and the Covid-19 *** general population should be more informed and reminded about practices to prevent Covid-19 and the relationship between vaccination and fertility to increase the number of people who receive Covid-19 booster vaccines.

Pledget-assisted hemostasis to fix residual access-site bleedings after double pre-closure technique

Reactive oxygen species and senescence modulatory effects of rice bran extract on 4T1 and NIH-3T3 cells co-treatment with doxorubicin

Objective:To determine the effect of rice bran extract(RBE)in combination with doxorubicin on 4 T1 triple-negative breast cancer cells and NIH-3 T3 ***:RBE was obtained by maceration with *** phytochemical profile of RBE was observed using highperformance liquid *** effect of RBE was evaluated through MTT *** addition,flow cytometry was used for cell cycle and apoptosis *** senescence was observed using sA-β-Gal assay and intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROs)levels were evaluated using DCFDA *** pro-oxidant property of RBE was also evaluated through 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene spectrophotometry and molecular ***:RBE was obtained with a yield of 18.42%w/w and contained tocotrienols as the major *** exerted no cytotoxic effect on 4 T1 and NIH-3 T3 ***,RBE in combination with doxorubicin decreased 4 T1 cell viability synergistically(combination indexsis and senescence on 4 T1 *** significantly decreased senescence in doxorubicin-treated NIH-3 T3 ***,RBE did not increase ROs levels in doxorubicin-treated 4 T1 ***,the combination of RBE and doxorubicin reduced ROs levels in NIH-3 T3 *** significantly reduced glutathione-s-transferase activity and alpha-tocotrienol interacted with glutathione-stransferase in the glutathione binding ***:Rice bran may be used as a co-chemotherapeutic agent to improve the therapeutic effectiveness of doxorubicin while protecting against the cellular senescence effects of doxorubicin on healthy cells.

The Fusarium oxysporum Avr2-six5 Effector Pair Alters Plasmodesmatal Exclusion selectivity to Facilitate Cell-to-Cell Movement of Avr2

Pathogens use effector proteins to manipulate their hosts. During infection of tomato, the fungus Fusarium oxysporum secretes the effectors Avr2 and six5. Whereas Avr2 suffices to trigger I-2-mediated cell death in heterologous systems, both effectors are required for I-2-mediated disease resistance in tomato. How six5 participates in triggering resistance is unknown. Using bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays we found that Avr2 and six5 interact at plasmodesmata. single-cell transformation revealed that a 2xRFP marker protein and Avr2-GFP only move to neighboring cells in the presence of six5. six5 alone does not alter plasmodesmatal transduction as 2xRFP was only translocated in the presence of both effectors. In sIX5-expressing transgenic plants, the distribution of virally expressed Avr2-GFP, and subsequent onset of I-2-mediated cell death, differed from that in wild-type tomato. Taken together, our data show that in the presence of six5, Avr2 moves from cell to cell, which in susceptible plants contributes to virulence, but in I-2 containing plants induces resistance.
