Thin-walled aerostructural components frequently get distorted after the machining *** to correct distortions or eventually rejecting parts significantly increases the *** paper proposes a new approach to correct distortions in thin-walled components by strategically applying hammer peening on target surfaces of a machined *** alloy 7475-T7351 was chosen for this *** study was divided in two ***,the residual stresses(RS)induced by four different pneumatic hammer peening conditions(modifying the stepover distance and initial offset)were characterised in a test coupon,and one of the conditions was selected for the next *** the second stage,a FEM model was used to predict distortions caused by machining in a representative ***,the RS induced by hammer peening were included in an FEM model to define two hammer peening strategies(varying the coverage area)to analyse the capability to reduce *** workpieces were machined and then treated with the simulated hammer peening strategies for experimental *** in the test coupon showed that pneumatic hammer peening can generate high compressive RS(-50 to350 MPa)up to 800 lm depth,with their magnitude increasing with a reduced stepover *** of hammer peening over 4% of the surface of the representative workpiece reduced the machininginduced distortions by 37%,and a coverage area of 100% led to and overcorrection by a factor of *** confirms that hammer peening can be strategically applied(in target areas and changing the percentage of coverage)to correct low or severe distortions.

Tinnitus is a heterogeneous hearing disorder with no cure at present,but some treatments,such as a combination of counselling and sound therapy,can alleviate the discomfort it *** sound therapy efficiency depends on both the type of sound stimulus and the time of *** study describes the fundamentals of a personalized sound therapy that stimulates the auditory system with either continuous or sequential sounds whose spectra are adjusted to the hearing levels of the *** sound therapy is called Enriched Acoustic Environment and is assessed in a sample of 137 participants with ***-related distress relief was clinically relevant and statistically significant for 90%of these *** was quantified as a mean decrease of 24.3 points on the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory.31%of participants were treated with sequential stimuli and achieved greater relief of distress(29.4 points on their Tinnitus Handicap Inventory score)compared to those treated with continuous sound(69%).According to these results,sequential sound seems to be optimal compared to continuous sound.

In adult animals,it is well established that stress has a proactive effect on psychostimulant ***,whether only a short period of stress during adolescence can also affect cocaine responses later in life and what mechanisms are involved are ***,we showed that 5 days of social isolation during rat adolescence had a long-term impact on anxiety-like behaviors,cocaine-induced conditioned place preference,and the expression of sensitization during *** the molecular level,social isolation decreased the activity of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in the prefrontal cortex(PFC).Furthermore,after the expression of cocaine sensitization,isolated rats showed an increase in this pathway in the nucleus ***,these findings suggest that,adolescent social isolation by altering the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in the developing PFC might increase the cocaine responses during adulthood,introducing this pathway as a novel neuroadaptation in the cortical-accumbens connection that may mediate a stress-induced increase in vulnerability to drugs.

To the Editor:We read with great interest the recent article by Zhu et al.[1].In the study,the authors analyzed the outcomes of 26 patients diagnosed with hepatic artery occlusion(HAO)and treated with an endovascular approach(EVT)within the first 30 days after ortho-topic liver transplantation(LT).The median interval from LT to EVT was 7 days,most patients were treated with angioplasty and only two(7.7%)needed stent *** authors should be congrat-ulated as they achieved a 100%of success rate with an 80.8%of 1-year survival rate.

Fixtures are a critical element in machining operations as they are the interface between the part and the *** components are responsible for the precise part location on the machine table and for the proper dynamic stability maintenance during the manufacturing *** these two features are deeply related,they are usually studied *** the one hand,diverse adaptable solutions have been developed for the clamping of different variable ***,the stability of the part has been long studied to reduce the forced vibration and the chatter effects,especially on thin parts machining operations typically performed in the aeronautic field,such as the skin panels *** present work proposes a commitment between both features by the presentation of an innovative vacuum fixture based on the use of a vulcanized rubber *** solution presents high flexibility as it can be adapted to different geometries while providing a proper damping capacity due to the viscoelastic and elastoplastic behaviour of these ***,the sealing properties of these elastomers provide the perfect combination to transform a rubber layer into a flexible vacuum ***,in order to validate the suitability of this fixture,a test bench is manufactured and tested under uniaxial compression loads and under real finish milling conditions over AA2024 part ***,a roughness model is proposed and analysed in order to characterize the part vibration sources.

Therapies such as direct tension-free microsurgical repair or transplantation of a nerve autograft,are nowadays used to treat traumatic peripheral nerve injuries（PNI）,focused on the enhancement of the intrinsic regenerative potential of injured ***,these therapies fail to recreate the suitable cellular and molecular microenvironment of peripheral nerve repair and in some cases,the functional recovery of nerve injuries is ***,new biomedical engineering strategies based on tissue engineering approaches through molecular intervention and scaffolding offer promising outcomes on the *** this sense,evidence is accumulating in both,preclinical and clinical settings,indicating that platelet-rich plasma products,and fibrin scaffold obtained from this technology,hold an important therapeutic potential as a neuroprotective,neurogenic and neuroinflammatory therapeutic modulator system,as well as enhancing the sensory and motor functional nerve muscle unit recovery.

Pressure drop is an essential parameter in the operation of conical spouted beds(CSB)and depends on its geometric factors and materials *** materials,like biomass,are complex to treat and,unlike other gas–solid contact methods,CSB turn out to be a suitable technology for their *** neural networks were used in this study for the prediction of operating and peak pressure drops,and their performance has been compared with that of empirical correlations reported in the ***,a multi-layer perceptron network with backward propagation was used due to its ability to model non-linear multivariate *** fitting of the experimental data of both operating and peak pressure drop was significantly better than those reported in the literature,specifically in the case of the peak pressure drop,with R^(2) being ***,artificial neural networks have been proven suitable for the prediction of pressure drop in CSB.

This study examined elutriation,attrition,and segregation in a conical spouted bed with a fountain confiner and incorporating an open sided draft *** silica sand with a wide particle size distribution was employed as a model material,operating in both the batch and continuous *** use of a fountain confiner is crucial when operating with fine particles,because otherwise the bed rapidly exhibits significant *** extent of attrition was quantified using a tracing technique based on differently-coloured sand fractions as well as monitoring size distributions by *** breakage was found to be the primary attrition mechanism,and the fountain confiner was determined to limit the elutriation of fine particles resulting from ***,only a small fraction of the finest particles were entrained from the *** incorporation of a confiner increased operational stability while reducing segregation,especially in the upper half of the bed where the majority of segregation typically ***,the bed was perfectly mixed apart from very minimal segregation close to the wall and at the bottom of the *** results provide a basis for the design and operation of larger scale equipment for the continuous drying of materials.
