Gadolinium doped tin dioxide nanoparticles: an efficient visible light active photocatalyst

Photocatalytic degradation of phenol with sol-gel prepared rare earth doped tin dioxide （SnO2） nanoparticles was reported. Gadolinium doped tin dioxide （SnO2：Gd） nanoparticles were found to absorb higher visible light compared to lanthanum, neodymium and cerium doped materials that were studied in detail. Photocatalytic degradation of phenol under artificial white light and sunlight in the presence of SnO2：Gd nanoparticles was studied with high performance liquid chromatography （HPLC）, capillary electrophoresis （CE）, total organic carbon （TOC） measurements and the determination of chemical oxygen demand （COD）. Clear correlations be- tween the results obtained from these multiple measurements were found, and a kinetic pathway for the degradation process was pro- posed. Within 150 min of solar irradiation, the TOC of a 10 ppm phenol solution in water was reduced by 95%-99%, thus demon- strating that SnO2：Gd nanoparticles are efficient visible light photocatalysts.

The evolution of the Internet has enabled us to enjoy the music created in various *** still,it is often difficult to understand the lyrics written in foreign *** translators have published many international songs with lyrics that fit the melody so that the ordinary people can enjoy the lyrics of such international *** paper discusses lyrics transcreation into the Japanese ***,the paper presents an interactive visual lyrics transcreation system and describes the details of its *** system allows users to select temporary lyrics from a set of tentative translations and then freely modify the lyrics with a real-time visualization *** also propose a lyrics translation algorithm that solves an essential problem of lyrics translation into *** this study,we interviewed two experts regarding problems with lyrics translation and received reviews of our presented *** also conducted preliminary experiments with 19 participants to determine the best combination of user interface components for our *** performed additional user experiments inviting 12 participants to compare lyrics transcreation using the presented system to manual lyrics *** transcreation by the presented system brought better results against those of manual transcreation.

We present a method to improve the execution time used to build the roadmap in probabilistic roadmap planners. Our method intelligently deactivates some of the configurations during the learning phase and allows the planner to concentrate on those configurations that axe most likely going to be useful when building the roadmap. The method can be used with many of the existing sampling algorithms. We ran tests with four simulated robot problems typical in robotics literature. The sampling methods applied were purely random, using Halton numbers, Gaussian distribution, and bridge test technique. In our tests, the deactivation method clearly improved the execution times. Compared with pure random selections, the deactivation method also significantly decreased the size of the roadmap, which is a useful property to simplify roadmap planning tasks.

Scalable fabrication of high-rate micro-supercapacitors(MSCs)is highly desired for on-chip integration of energy storage *** virtue of the special self-assembly behavior of 2D materials during drying thin films of their liquid dispersion,a new inkjet printing technique of passivated graphene micro-flakes is developed to directly print MSCs with 3D networked porous *** presence of macroscale through-thickness pores provides fast ion transport pathways and improves the rate capability of the devices even with solid-state *** multiple-pass printing,the porous microstructure effectively absorbs the successively printed inks,allowing full printing of 3D structured MSCs comprising multiple vertically stacked cycles of current collectors,electrodes,and sold-state *** all-solid-state heterogeneous 3D MSCs exhibit excellent vertical scalability and high areal energy density and power density,evidently outperforming the MSCs fabricated through general printing techniques.

The crystal and electronic structure of the Eu^2＋ doped and defect containing Sr2MgSi2O7 persistent luminescence material were studied using the density functional theory （DFT）. The defects may act as energy storage or even luminescence quenching centres in these materials, however their role is very difficult to confirm experimentally. The probability of vacancy formation was studied using the total energy of the defect containing host. Significant structural modifications in the environment of the isolated defects, especially the strontium vacancy, as well as defect aggregates were found. The experimental band gap energy of Sr2MgSi2O7 was well reproduced by the calculations. The defect induced electron traps close to the host＇s conduction band were found to act as energy storage sites contributing to its efficient persistent luminescence. The interactions between the defects were found to modify both the Eu^2＋ 4f^7 ground state energy as well as the trap structure. The effect of charge compensation induced by the rare earth co-doping on the defect structure and energy storage properties of the persistent luminescence materials was discussed.

For understanding the deformation mechanism of AZ31 Mg alloy, two kinds of specimen, hot-rolled sheet and extruded bar were tested in tension at room temperature. Relatively small grain sizes ranging from 32 to 8.7μm are obtained by annealing at several temperatures. And then they were further cold-rolled with rolling angles of 0? 45?and 90? which is the angle between the rolling and the longitude direction of as-received specimen, and annealed at a temperature in recrystallization field. The yield stress were found from the stress—strain curve. The grain size dependence of the yield stress is found not in agreement with the Hall-Petch relationship. The texture of (0002) pole figure of each kind of specimen was tested by X-ray diffractometer. The specimen with strong basal texture shows large yield stress and low work-hardening rate, while the specimen with weak basal texture shows low yield stress and rapid work-hardening rate. These results are interpreted by the slip system activated in the different textures. A combined slip system was used to interpret the yield stress variation with the texture and the deformation mechanism was discussed.

Objective:Overriding/straddling of an atrioventricular valve is a consequence of atrial-ventricular septal *** sought to characterize the malalignment by analogizing it to a flap-door and using structured ***:The echocardiograms and magnetic resonance images of 35 patients with overriding/straddling tricuspid or mitral valve were evaluated to assess the following modifiers;the malaligned part of the septum,the reference structure,and the mechanism,direction and severity of ***:The pathology included classic overriding tricuspid valve in 15,classic overriding mitral valve in 12,and overriding tricuspid valve with left juxtaposition of atrial appendages in *** classic overriding tricuspid valve,the ventricular septum was hinged to the anterior interventricular groove and its insertion to the posterior interventricular groove was displaced toward the right *** VSD primarily involved the inlet but also extended toward the anterior interventricular *** classic overriding mitral valve,the ventricular septum was hinged to the posterior interventricular groove and crux *** insertion to the anterior interventricular groove was displaced toward the left *** VSD primarily involved the anterior part but also extended toward the *** tricuspid valve with left juxtaposition of atrial appendages had a mild degree of malalignment with displacement/rotation of the atrioventricular *** spaced short-axis images were most helpful in characterizing the ***:Overriding/straddling atrioventricular valves can be easily understood by analogizing the atrial-ventricular septal malalignment to a flap-door and describing the pathology in a structured *** to what has previously been known,the VSD is not limited to the inlet or outlet part of the ventricular septum.
