The expansion of the Internet of Moving Things(IoMT)leads to limitless and continuous working playgrounds exploited by highly dynamic end *** requires the adoption of multi-Radio Access Technologies(RATs)-based strategies to provide IoMT units with ubiquitous *** this end,the development of secure bootstrapping and authentication mechanisms is necessary to permit the secure operation of end *** the transmission and power limitations of these elements,current cryptographic solutions do not address these stringent *** that reason,in the study we present a Multi-Access Edge Computing(MEC)-based endto-end architecture that enables an efficient and secure authentication and key agreement between end devices and network servers over heterogeneous resource-limited networks such as the Low Power Wide Area Networks(LPWANs).Our proposal is based on the Authentication,Authorization,and Accounting(AAA)architecture and the recent Internet Engineering Task Force initiatives Static Context Header Compression and Low-Overhead *** results obtained from experimental tests reveal the validity of the proposal as it enables constrained IoMT devices to gain IPv6 connectivity as well as performs end-to-end secure authentication with notable reliability and controlled latency.

The potential for the positive manipulation of the gut microbiome through the introduction of beneficial microbes, as also known as probiotics, is currently an active area of investigation. The FAO/WHO define probiotics as live microorganisms that confer a health benefit to the host when administered in adequate amounts. However, dead bacteria and bacterial molecular components may also exhibit probiotic properties. The results of clinical studies have demonstrated the clinical potential of probiotics in many pathologies, such as allergic diseases, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease and viral infection. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the beneficial effects of probiotics, most of which involve gene expression regulation in specific tissues, particularly the intestine and liver. Therefore, the modulation of gene expression mediated by probiotics is an important issue that warrants further investigation. In the present paper, we performed a systematic review of the probiotic-mediated modulation of gene expression that is associated with the immune system and inflammation. Between January 1990 to February 2014, PubMed was searched for articles that were published in English using the MeSH terms “probiotics' and 'gene expression' combined with “intestines', 'liver', 'enterocytes', 'antigen-presenting cells', 'dendritic cells', 'immune system', and 'inflammation'. Two hundred and five original articles matching these criteria were initially selected, although only those articles that included specific gene expression results (77) were later considered for this review and separated into three major topics: the regulation of immunity and inflammatory gene expression in the gut, in inflammatory diseases of the gut and in the liver. Background: In highly myopic eyes, myopic foveoschisis (MF), the earliest stage of myopic traction maculopathy (MTM), is present in up to 34% of patients with pathologic myopia and slowly progresses to form foveoretinal detachment (FRD) or macular hole (MH) with or without macular hole retinal detachment (MHRD) as a part of its natural history. Aim: To describe the microstructural and functional results in three highly myopic eyes that underwent macular surgery for early-stage MTM. The last postoperative structural findings were correlated with the final vision and macular automated microperimetry evaluation. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed three highly myopic eyes that underwent successful fovea-saving internal limiting membrane (FS-ILM) macular surgery for chronic FRD at Oftalmologia Integral ABC, Mexico City, Mexico. We performed postoperative multimodal microstructural and functional evaluations, including SD-OCT, SS-OCT, and microperimetric macular examinations. Results: There was a substantial difference between best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) preoperatively and postoperatively in all three cases. Postoperative surgery was associated with significant improvement in visual acuity confirmed using a paired-sample permutation test. The mean presurgical BCVA value (LogMAR;mean ± SE) was ~0.83 ± 0.15, and the postsurgical value was ~0.43 ± 0.52 (P = 0.00065). The myopic foveoretinal detachment evaluation was ~7.3 ± 3.5 months, with a mean postoperative follow-up time of ~14 ± 4.08 months. Furthermore, postoperative multimodal imaging tests demonstrated an abnormal microstructural foveal SS-OCT pattern without evidence of macular hole (MH) development at the postoperative follow-up. Macular microperimetry confirmed a subclinical reduced macula threshold sensitivity with an anomalous retinal sensitivity analysis map and a stable central foveal fixation site. Unintentional food resources in urban areas(street litter,food leftovers,overflowing trash bins)are dietary components of some urban-exploiter bird *** this study,we report on 13 bird species in six southern Finnish cities using urban trash bins and describe differences in their activity when provided with food resources(i.e.,bait)in different bin *** used generalized linear models(GLM)and classification and regression trees(CART)to test for associations between environmental variables and bird activity at the *** activity at the binscapes significantly differed among all cities and among types of bins and was significantly higher after placing bait in all *** with the largest opening had more activity as opposed to those with smaller openings or *** and gulls had the highest activity,with corvids usually being present before the bait was placed and gulls increasing their activity *** differences show that trash bin foraging is highly malleable and thus susceptible to management preventing its *** waste management measures could aid in reducing the number of species close to bins and their surroundings,benefiting both bird and human health.

FT-1R spectroscopy of carboxylic groups and viability tests were useful to understand the antibacterial proper- ties of six highly efficient silver（I） pyridinecarboxylate （nicotinic, picolinic and isonicotinic acids） and bipiridinecarboxylate （pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic, pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic and pyridine-2,5-dicarboxylic acids） complexes with Ag--O and Ag--N bonds against E. coli （ATCC 25922） and Streptococcus＇ agalactiae （ISP 329-09）. The resuits show a tendency between the nature of Ag--X （X=oxygen and nitrogen） bonds and the rate or efficiency of antibacterial behavior.

Electroencephalographic Correlates of Sexual Arousal Induced by Sexually-Explicit Reading in Human Females

This study explored the cortical functionality in young women while reading a sexually-explicit text. Electroencephalographic activity (EEG) was recorded in heterosexual women while reading either a sexually-explicit text or one with neutral content. Absolute power (AP) and the degree of EEG synchronization among the prefrontal, temporal and parietal cortices were analyzed for the different EEG bands. To evaluate sexual arousal, valence and general activation, Likert-type and Manikin scales were applied. Subjects scored the sexually-explicit text as more pleasurable, and reported greater general activation and sexual arousal than while reading the neutral one. During reading of the sexually-explicit text only, they showed a higher AP in the beta and gamma bands in temporal areas in both hemispheres, and in the theta band in parietal ones, with a lower degree of EEG synchronization between prefronto-temporal areas in the fast bands. Results show that both hemispheres were activated in these sexually-aroused women. The low bilateral synchronization between prefrontal and temporal regions indicates the independent functionality of these cortices, which could be a requirement for inducing and maintaining sexual arousal during reading of sexually-explicit texts in women. These data should broaden our knowledge of the cortical mechanisms that underlie sexual arousal in women.
