Body weight is a crucial trait that aids farmers in decision-making regarding vaccinations, feeding, marketing and selection during the breeding programs. The study was conducted to investigate the effect of sex and age on body weight (BW), body condition score (BCS) and some blood biochemical parameters (BBP) and to determine the correlation amongst BW, BCS and BBP of non-descriptive goats at Santombe communal farming system. Blood samples were collected from 33 apparently healthy goats (27 females and 6 males) aged 6 - 8 tooth with a mean BW (32.62 ± 11.39 kg) while BCS (3.17 ± 0.39) was taken by means of palpating the lumbar area, sternum and the ribs. The BCS was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being emaciated and 5 being extremely fat. The blood samples were analyzed using Cobas intergra 400 plus chemistry analyzer, Roche for biochemical parameters such as total protein (TP), urea, cholesterol (Chol), magnesium (Mg), phosphorous (P) and calcium (Ca) with mean values of 72.79 ± 5.84 mg/l, 2.76 ± 1.16 mmol/l, 2.08 ± 0.40 mmol/l, 1.09 ± 0.09 mmol/l, 2.30 ± 0.49 mmol/l and 2.45 ± 0.12 mmol/l respectively. Sex and age had significant effects on BW, BCS and some biochemical parameters. The BW and BCS for males were significantly higher than for females. Correlation results indicated that BW had a positive relationship with BCS (r = 0.677), TP and BW (r = 0.400), Chol and BCS (r = 0.4025) and Mg and TP (r = -0.075). Age and sex had significant influences on BW, BCS and some blood biochemical parameters. Consideration of the factors can aid in determining the accurate diagnosis of the nutritional status of goats.

葡萄渣浓缩物含有丰富的具有强抗氧化能力的多酚。试验旨在研究α-生育酚盐酸盐(200mg/kg)及15g/kg、30g/kg、60g/kg三个水平的葡萄渣浓缩物(GPC)对肉鸡(21～42日龄)的生产性能、消化器官容量、蛋白质、脂肪、冰冻胸肌的氧化易感性、水解多酚和缩合丹宁的可消化性以及日粮、血清、回肠内容物和排泄物的抗氧化活性等方面的影响。GPC对生产性能、回肠粗蛋白表观消化率、肠相关长度及腹脂、肝脏、胰腺、脾脏的相对重量不产生影响。在基础日粮、添加GPC日粮与添加维生素E的日粮对照中,后者实验鸡的脂肪消化率较前两者高。GPC日粮能减少回肠和粪便中水解多酚的可消化性。水解多酚和缩合丹宁在回肠粪便中的的消化率分别为56%～73%和14%～47%。GPC日粮能减少回肠和粪便中水解多酚的可消化性。GPC日粮、回肠内容物和排泄物[2,2-联氮基-双-(3-乙基苯并二氢噻唑啉)-6-磺酸法]抗氧化活性以及GPC日粮(三价铁抗氧化能力方式)较基础日粮和维生素E日粮具有更高的清除自由基能力。饲喂维生素E日粮与基础日粮相比,胸肌在分别冰冻储存1、4和7d后油脂氧化作用降低。而饲喂GPC日粮与维生素E日粮相比,鸡胸肌在分别储存1、4、7d后在氧化稳定性方面更平衡。总之,添加GPC(达到60g/kg)的日粮不会对肉鸡的生长性能、消化器官容量以及蛋白质的消化性能产生影响。水解多酚与缩合丹宁相比更具生物有效性。GPC日粮中的日粮、排泄物、回肠内容物和胸肌的抗氧化能力皆有提高。GPC添加物具有与维生素E相同的抗氧化效果。基于这些发现,我们可以推断GPC在动物营养中将是一种新的抗氧化剂资源。

The Children’s Faecal Matter Structure Is Built by Their Parents

Introduction: Humans have gone through physical changes over the last 4 million years. The mouth, however, has not changed teeth quantity or quality. Eight incisors for fruits, vegetables and tubers;four little canines for little animals;eight premolars and twelve flat molars are used for crushing these foods, especially whole grains and legumes. The teeth crushing foods are the first step in the building of faecal matter. Foods are selected mostly according to cultural guidelines than to biological needs. The patterns of consumption are induced by the publicity of industrialized or processed foods. Material and Methods: This study design was observational, analytical, correlational, transversal and prospective. One thousand children (0 - 12 years old) were questioned in order to learn about the relationship between Weekly Eating Frequency (WEF) and Faecal Matter (FM) characteristics. The FM was classified as soft, normal or hard and the outcome was expressed as Dry Faecal Residue (DFR). The WEF and Weekly Bowel Movement Frequency (WBMF) were determined and tabulated according to times per week. Environmental factors, parents’ education level and children’s birth order were examined. Results: There was a strong association between DFR, WBMF and WEF. Environment and education level did not play a key role although birth order did matter. Conclusions: Fibre-free foods (dairies, meats, flours and sweeties or sodas) increased DFR. Foods containing fibre from vegetables decreased DFR, which in turn contributed to the WBMF. Lowest DFR was observed in children under Exclusive Breastfeeding (EB). Distant last-born children had higher DFR. Comments: Daily examples support these results and it is clear that children’s FM is built by their parents. We encourage parents to follow the “mouth nature” rather than the “advertisements nature”.

Observations of tropical cyclones(TC)from aircraft and in situ platforms provide critical and unique information for analyzing and forecasting TC intensity,structure,track,and their associated *** report,prepared for the tenth International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones(IWTC-10),discusses the data collected around the world in TCs over the past four years since the IWTC-9,improvements to observing techniques,new instruments designed to achieve sustained and targeted atmospheric and oceanic observations,and select research results related to these *** the Atlantic and Eastern and Central Pacific basins,changes to operational aircraft reconnaissance are discussed along with several of the research field campaigns that have taken place *** changes in the use and impact of these aircraft observations in numerical weather prediction models are also provided along with updates on some of the experimental aircraft *** from three field campaigns in the Western Pacific basin are also *** of in-situ data collected within recent TCs such as Hurricane Ian(2022),also demonstrate that new,emerging technologies and observation strategies reviewed in this report,definitely have the potential to further improve ocean-atmosphere coupled intensity forecasts.

E-Government is the use of information and communication Technologies(ICT)such as internet,smart phones,telecommunication,mobile company among others to interact between government and the citizens in running the affairs of the country such as decision making *** impact and potential of ICTs have not been fully exploited in the Nigerian context,leaving government in a weak position to formulate policy comprehensively and implement plans *** addition to the implementation of e-government in some part of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT)of Nigeria Abuja,but its effectiveness is not *** citizens connection to the government is limited it can be improved more easily using electronic means of communication,A reduction in corruption cases as accountability and transparency can also be increased,Equal opportunity will be given to all to access information irrespective of the person’s physical location or disability and the elimination of the bureaucracy experienced in government *** research work is aimed at assessing the effectiveness of e-government in federal capital territory of Nigeria Abuja using Seoul Metropolitan Government as a yard stick for measuring the *** was used as a primary method of data collection,internet and library as secondary *** data obtained from the questionnaire has been analyzed using frequency table and *** findings of this work shows that 41.91%of the respondents agree e-government initiatives have decreased civil servants corruption in Abuja,46.81%of the respondents agree that E-government services has increased citizens trust in Abuja,58.11%of the respondents believe that E-government initiative have increased the accessibility to the government in Abuja however 37.11%agree that Lack of Information Technology(IT)infrastructure is the major problem affecting E-government in Abuja.

This study presents an integrated examination of livestock production constraints associating with communal farming in six district municipalities (DMs) of the Eastern Cape Province. We collected data on demographic and socio-economic factors from 271 farmers randomly given questionnaires. About 26 Land Redistribution for Agricultural Development (LRAD) owned by communal farmers were surveyed to ascertain the condition of grazing land, meanwhile, tick species and distribution on cattle and goats found in 158 sampling sites of the study area were also recorded. From the results, a total of 34,929 adult ticks belonging to five genera and 10 species were encountered. The most abundant tick genera were Rhipicephalus of the subgenus Boophilus (68.91%), Amblyomma (20.72%), Hyalomma (8.64%), Ixodes (1.22%), and Haemaphysalis (0.51%).
