A hydrogel based on chitosan,collagen,hydroxypropyl-c-cyclodextrin and polyethylene glycol was developed and *** incorporation of nano-hydroxyapatite and pre-encapsulated hydrophobic/hydrophilic model drugs diminished the porosity of hydrogel from 81.6262.25%to 69.9863.07%.Interactions between components of hydrogel,demonstrated by FTIR spectroscopy and rheology,generated a network that was able to trap bioactive components and delay the burst *** thixotropic behavior of hydrogel provided adaptability to facilitate its implantation in a minimally invasive *** profiles from microspheres included or not in hydrogel revealed a two-phase behavior with a burst-and a controlled-release *** same release rate for microspheres included or not in the hydrogel in the controlled-release period demonstrated that mass transfer process was controlled by internal *** diffusion coefficients,Deff,that describe internal diffusion inside microspheres,and mass transfer coefficients,h,*** contribution of hydrogel to mass transfer,were determined using‘genetic algorithms’,obtaining values between 2.64·10^(-15) and 6.67·10^(-15)m^(2)/s for Deff and 8.50·10^(-10) to 3.04·10^(-9) m/s for *** proposed model fits experimental data,obtaining an R2-value ranged between 95.41 and 98.87%.In vitro culture of mesenchymal stem cells in hydrogel showed no manifestations of intolerance or toxicity,observing an intense proliferation of the cells after 7 days,being most of the scaffold surface occupied by living cells.

Background:The analysis of chromatin integrity has become an important determinant of sperm *** frozenthawed bovine sperm,neither the sequence of post-thaw injury events nor the dynamics of different types of sperm DNA breaks are well *** aim of the present work was to describe such sperm degradation aftermath focusing on DNA damage dynamics,and to assess if this parameter can predict pregnancy rates in ***:A total of 75 cryopreserved ejaculates from 25 Holstein bulls were evaluated at two post-thawing periods(0-2 h and 2-4 h),analyzing global and double-stranded DNA damage through alkaline and neutral Comet assays,chromatin deprotamination and decondensation,sperm motility,viability,acrosomal status,and intracellular levels of total ROS,superoxides and *** of 59,605 females was conducted using sperm from the same bulls,thus obtaining the non-return to estrus rates after 90 d(NRR).Results showed an increased rate of double-stranded breaks in the first period(0-2 h:1.29±1.01%/h vs.2-4 h:0.13±1.37%/h;P0.05).Finally,whereas no correlations between bull fertility and any dynamic parameter were found,there were correlations between the NRR and the basal percentage of highly-damaged sperm assessed with the alkaline Comet(Rs=-0.563,P=0.003),between NRR and basal progressive motility(Rs=0.511,P=0.009),and between NRR and sperm with high ROS at 4 h post-thaw(Rs=0.564,P=0.003).Conclusion:The statistically significant correlations found between intracellular ROS,sperm viability,sperm motility,DNA damage

AIM:To study the ability of human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells(AMSCs)to survive over the short and long term,their biodistribution and their biosafety in vivo in tumor-prone ***:We subcutaneously injected human AMSCs from different human donors into immunodeficient SCID mice over both short-(2 and 4 mo)and long-(17 mo)term in young,and aged tumor-prone *** of human cells was studied by immunohistochemistry and polymerase chain reaction analysis in all organs of injected ***:Subcutaneously injected AMSCs did not form teratomas at any time *** did not migrate but remained at the site of injection regardless of animal age,and did not fuse with host cells in any organ *** survived in vivo for at least 17 mo after injection,and differentiated into fibroblasts of the subdermic connective tissue and into mature adipocytes of fat tissue,exclusively at the site of ***:Our results support the assertion that AMSC may be safe candidates for therapy when injected subcutaneously because of their long term inability to form teratomas.

Background: Cryopreservation is currently the most efficient method for long-term preservation of mammalian gametes and is extensively used in swine artificial insemination(AI) centres. However, it is well-known that cryopreservation procedures induce changes in the water phase in both intra and extracellular compartments,which alter the content and localisation of several proteins and ends up curtailing the structural integrity of functional sperm(i.e., cryoinjuries). Alterations and deficiencies of sperm-oocyte binding proteins during gamete recognition are one of the causes of reproductive failure both in vitro and in vivo. In this sense, characterisation of cryopreservation effects upon oocyte-binding proteins of sperm, such as IZUMO1 and GSTM3, is essential when assessing the impact of this technique in swine ***: Cryopreservation was found to induce changes in the localisation of IZUMO1 and GSTM3 in boar ***, the relative content of both proteins was not altered after thawing. Furthermore, whereas IZUMO1 content was found not to be related to the cryotolerance of boar sperm, GSTM3 content was observed to be higher in poor(PFE) than in good(GFE) freezability ejaculates in both pre-frozen(1.00 INT·mm^2± 0.14 INT·mm^2 vs.0.72 INT·mm^2± 0.15 INT·mm^2;P < 0.05) and post-thawed(0.96 INT·mm^2± 0.20 INT·mm^2 vs. 70 INT·mm^2± 0.19 INT·mm^2;P < 0.05) samples. Moreover, GSTM3 levels were found to be higher in those spermatozoa that exhibited low mitochondrial activity, high reactive oxygen species(ROS) production, and high membrane lipid disorder postthaw(P < 0.05).Conclusions: The difference in GSTM3 content between GFE and PFE, together with this protein having been found to be related to poor sperm quality post-thaw, suggests that it could be used as a cryotolerance marker of boar spermatozoa. Furthermore, both IZUMO1 and GSTM3 relocate during cryopreservation, which could contribute to the reduced fertilising capacity of frozen-thawed boar

Recent evidence shows that deleting brain insulin receptors leads to mildobesity and insulin resistance without influencing brain size and apoptosis ***, deleting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) affects brain size anddevelopment, and contributes to behavior changes. Insulin is synthesized locally in the brain andis released from the neurons. Here, we reviewed proposed pathophysiological hypotheses toexplain increased risk of dementia in the presence of DM. Regardless of the exact sequence ofevents leading to neurodegeneration, there is strong evidence that mitochondrial dysfunctionplays a key role in AD and DM. A triple transgenic mouse model of AD showed mitochondrialdysfunction, oxidative stress, and loss of synaptic integrity. These alterations are comparable tothose induced in wild-type mice treated with sucrose, which is consistent with the proposal thatmitochondrial alterations are associated with DM and contribute to AD development. Alterationsin insulin/IGF-1 signaling in DM could lead to mitochondrial dysfunction and low antioxidantcapacity of the cell. Particulate matter （PM） emissions from various sources can affect significantly human health and environmental quality especially in the Chihuahuan Desert region along US- Mexico border. The objective of this study was to use the low-cost sticky tape method to collect airborne PM for size characterization and identification of fungal spores. Sticky tape samplers were placed at 1.0 and 2.0 m above the ground surface at experimental sites in Ciudad Ju＆ez, Mexico and at 0.6, 1.2 and 1.8 m at New Mexico sites, USA. Soil samples were collected in both countries to determine fungal diversity, texture and moisture content. Dust particles collected from all of the experimental sites had a dominant texture of clay （〈0.002 mm）. The dominant textures identified from soil samples collected from the US and Mexican sites were loam and sandy clay loam, respectively. Alternaria, Penicillium and Fusarium were frequently found funguses in the US sites while Alternaria and Aspergillus were commonly observed in the Mexican sites. The sticky tapes also showed a similar diversity of fungal microorganisms present in the airborne PM at both Mexico and US sites. Alternaria, Penicillium and Aspergillus were the three groups of airborne fungal microorgan- isms consistently present in the US and Mexican sites. The low-cost sticky tape method has the potential to be used for characterizing different airbome microorganisms and dust particles.

Coronavirus(COVID-19)has impacted nearly every person across the globe either in terms of losses of life or as of *** current coronavirus(COVID-19)pandemic is a rare/special situation where people can express their feelings on Internet-based social *** media is emerging as the biggest platform in recent years where people spend most of their time expressing themselves and their *** research is based on gathering data from Twitter and analyzing the behavior of the people during the COVID-19 *** research is based on the logic expressed by people in this perspective and emotions for the suffering of COVID-19 and *** this research,we have used a Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)network model with Convolutional Neural Network using Keras python deep-learning library to determine whether social media platform users are depressed in terms of positive,negative,or neutral emotional out bust based on their Twitter *** results showed that the model has 88.14%accuracy(representation of the correct prediction over the test dataset)after 10 epochs which most tweets showed had neutral *** evaluation shows interesting results in positive(1),negative(–1),and neutral(0)emotions through different visualization.

Rural geotourism looks at the natural resources of the territory as a means of promoting a specialized,educational,sustainable *** is an increasingly sought-after *** paper presents a rural georoute across a high mountain village,highlighting the remarkable value of the geological heritage of biological trace fossils and physical sedimentary structures exposed on street pavements and façades of houses.A series of tourist georesources were created and implemented:educational and interpretive panels,videos,QR codes,geoapps and games,all of which promote and disseminate the exceptional geological content and the history of the earth through the use of new technologies(smartphones,ipod,etc.).All this is intended as a means to make geotourism a natural tourism,favoring experiences,whilst explaining the natural environment and its temporal and spatial dimensions,offering opportunities for socio-economic development and job creation in rural areas with problems of depopulation.

Eosinophilic esophagitis is an immune-allergic pathology of multifactorial etiology(genetic and environmental)that affects both pediatric and adult *** symptoms,which include heartburn,regurgitation,and esophageal stenosis(with dysphagia being more frequent in eosinophilic esophagitis in young adults and children),are similar to those of gastroesophageal reflux disease,causing delays in diagnosis and *** endoscopic findings such as furrows,esophageal mucosa trachealization,and whitish exudates may suggest its presence,this diagnosis should be confirmed histologically based on the presence of more than 15 eosinophils per high-power field and the exclusion of other causes of eosinophilia(parasitic infections,hypereosinophilic syndrome,inflammatory bowel disease,among others)for which treatment could be ***,the 3“D”s(“Drugs,Diet,and Dilation”)are considered the fundamental components of *** first 2 components,which involve the use of proton pump inhibitors,corticosteroids,immunosuppressants and empirical diets or guided food elimination based on allergy tests,are more useful in the initial phases,whereas endoscopic dilation is reserved for esophageal ***,the most important aspects of eosinophilic esophagitis pathophysiology will be reviewed,in addition to evidence for the various treatments.
