An integrative review of the influence of job strain and coping on nurses'work performance:Understanding the gaps in oncology nursing research

Nursing is known to be a stressful profession that can lead to physical and psychological health issues and behavioural *** oncology,workload among nurses is believed to be increasing in conjunction with rapidly increasing numbers of patients with cancer and staff shortages worldwide,therefore it is essential to sustain a quality oncology nurse *** studies have presented evidence on job strain,effects of coping strategies,and nurses'work performance within healthcare settings,but few have focused on oncology settings and none of these on nurses working in Saudi *** purpose of this review was to summarize empirical and theoretical evidence concerning job-related stressors in nurses,particularly oncology nurses,and the interrelationships among job strain,coping strategies,and work performance in this *** strategies identified studies published on studies in peer-reviewed journals from 2004 to ***-five nursing studies were found examining the relationships among the concepts of *** job-related stressors among oncology nurses were high job demands,dealing with death/dying,lack of job control,and interpersonal conflicts at *** strain was found to be significantly linked to coping strategies,and negatively associated with work performance among nurses in *** is no existing empirical evidence to support the relationship between coping strategies and work performance among oncology *** present evidence is limited,and a considerable amount of research is required in the future to expand the oncology nursing *** is needed to investigate job-related stressors and their effects on oncology nurses.

Higher Cell Viability and Enhanced Sample Quality Following Laser-Assisted Liposuction versus Mechanical Liposuction

Background: Despite the popularity of autologous fat transfer applications, high resorption rates, and consequential volume loss, have been reported. Viable adipocyte content has been defined as a key determinant of fat transfer longevity. Moreover, traces of blood, free oil fat and fibrotic tissue accelerate adipocyte degradation. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of a 1470 nm, radial emitting laser-assisted liposection device to a mechanical liposection device in maintaining adipocyte viability in fat tissue harvests. Methods: Bilateral subcutaneous adipose tissue samples were harvested from ten female patients. Fat was harvested from one side using the LipoLife laser-assisted liposuction device and from the other side with a Byron mechanical aspirator. Samples were visually analyzed and blood:fat ratios and cell viability were determined. Results: Laser-harvested samples separated into two distinct phases, with a negligible blood phase at the bottom (1.1%) and a significant adipose phase at the top (98.9%), containing small, uniform-sized cells, of which 95.7% ± 2.7% proved viable. Mechanically harvested samples separated into blood (18%), adipose (60%) and lipid (22%) phases. The adipose phase contained significant amounts of connective tissue, large adipose tissue fragments, large oil droplets and a mean 79.7% ± 18.3% viable adipocytes. Conclusions: Laser liposuctioning was superior to mechanical liposuctioning, providing both higher cell viability and enhanced sample quality. The 1470 nm diode laser bears the potential of improving long-term clinical outcomes of fat transfer procedures. Improved purity of the harvested sample and heightened preadipocyte content are projected to provide for extended graft longevity.

The aftermath of the Liberia civil war witnessed massive reconstruction of damaged infrastructure,this includes significant tax policy reforms as an effort to mobilise resource for infrastructure *** 2013,the government created the Liberia Revenue Authority as an autonomous agency for assessing,enforcing,and collecting the taxes on behalf of the government as well as the establishment of Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to formulate fiscal and tax policies to enhance revenue *** of all these efforts,there remain serious challenges for the smooth operation of the Revenue *** is against this backdrop that this study assesses the effects of the tax reforms instituted by the government and its impact on revenue growth in Liberia in *** particular,to understand the challenges that are hindering the smooth operation of the Liberia Revenue Authority from collecting legitimate revenue for the *** order to achieve this,a qualitative methodological approach was adopted to collect data through interviews with the key informants,which includes but not limited to stakeholders from Ministry of Finance and development Planning,Ministry of Commerce,Liberia Revenue Authority,Liberia Maritime Authority,Liberia Institute of Geo-Information Services and National Investment Commission of *** private sector led by the Liberia Chambers of Commerce amongst *** findings of the study revealed that the tax policy still has a significant level of weaknesses and *** a successful fiscal policy reform,there should be an interactive forum between the government and the private sector,especially business people as a means of finding common ground on issues of primary ***,the revenue code needs to be precise and definite in its definition of what is obtainable and what is *** was gathered that if the ambiguity in the revenue code is removed,it will assist in generate sustainable revenue for the country

The Downlink Adjacent Interference for Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) Search and Rescue Satellites

NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) - LEO environmental satellites provide continuous coverage of Earth, supplying high-resolution global meteorological, oceanic and space observation data. In addition, these satellites are part of the international COSPAS – SARSAT program, which aides search and rescue teams worldwide. The USA segment, referred to as SARSAT (Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking) system, is designed to provide distress alert and location data to assist on search and rescue operations. SARSAT locates distress beacons (406MHz) activated at distress locations. The system calculates a location of the distress event using Doppler processing techniques. Processed data is continuously retransmitted through the SARSAT downlink to Local User Terminals (LUT) when satellites are in view. The downlink adjacent interference is expected when two satellites operate in close proximity and share the same frequency. The downlinks of all SARSAT LEO satellites use the same 1544.5 MHz frequency. In cases where the satellites are within the main lobe of the local user terminal antenna, transmissions from adjacent satellites act as interference to one-another, effectively decreasing the signal-to-noise ratio of the desired downlink. This can result in missed distress beacon bursts or no stored solutions received at the LUT, consequently no data is provided about a distress location. Analysis on interference prediction, impacts on system operation and recommendations for mitigating interference periods where the duration may be significant, are presented in this paper.
