Benzaldehyde byproduct is an imperative intermediate in the production of fine chemicals and *** selectivity to benzaldehyde is therefore critical in alcohol oxidation reactions at the industrial ***,we report a simple but innovative method for the synthesis of palladium hydride and nickel palladium hydride nanodendrites with controllable morphology,high stability,and excellent catalytic *** synthesized dendrites can maintain the palladium hydride phase even after their use in the chosen catalytic ***,the high surface area morphology and unique interaction between nickel-rich surface and palladium hydride (β-phase) of these nanodendrites are translated in an enhanced catalytic activity for benzyl alcohol oxidation *** Ni/PdH0.43 nanodendrites demonstrated a high selectivity towards benzaldehyde of about 92.0% with a conversion rate of 95.4%,showing higher catalytic selectivity than their PdH0.43 counterparts and commercial Pd/*** present study opens the door for further exploration of metal/metal-hydride nanostructures as next-generation catalytic materials.

Cadmium(Cd)and lead(Pb)in soil or water environment cause the ecological destruction and environmental deterioration when their contents exceed the natural background *** trace the concentrations of Cd(II)and Pb(II),a sensitive and selective electrode was developed using disposable screen-printed carbon electrode(SPE)immobilized with a composite film of reduced graphene oxide/carboxylation multi-walled carbon nanotubes/gold nanoparticle hybrid(RGO-mWNT-AuNP)throughπ-π*** highly conductive nano-composite layer,“RGO-mWNT-AuNP,”was characterized by scanning electron microscopy,UV-visible spectrometer,cyclic voltammetry,and electrochemical impedance *** wave stripping voltammetry was applied to RGO-mWNT-AuNP/SPE to electroplate bismuth film and monitor the Cd(II)and Pb(II)*** obtain high current responses,the detecting parameters were *** optimized conditions,the current responses showed a linear relationship with the concentrations of Cd(II)and Pb(II)in the range from 1.0 to 80.0μg/L with a lower detection limit of 0.7μg/L and 0.3μg/L(S/N=3),***,the prepared electrode was further employed to detect Cd(II)and Pb(II)in soil samples with good results.

Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(Gm)(mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(mayer et al., 2022;AguilarHernández et al., 2023).

Vitamin B 12 is an organometallic compound with important metabolic derivatives that act as cofactors of certain enzymes,which have been grouped into three subfamilies depending on their *** them,methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (mCm) has been extensively *** enzyme catalyzes the reversible isomerization of L-methylmalonyl-CoA to succinyl-CoA using adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl) as a cofactor participating in the generation of radicals that allow isomerization of the *** crystal structure of mCm determined in Propionibacterium freudenreichii *** has helped to elucidate the role of this cofactor AdoCbl in the reaction to specify the mechanism by which radicals are generated from the coenzyme and to clarify the interactions between the enzyme,coenzyme,and *** existence of human methylmalonic acidemia (mmA) due to the presence of mutations in mCm shows the importance of its role in *** recent crystallization of the human mCm has shown that despite being similar to the bacterial protein,there are significant differences in the structural organization of the two *** studies have identified the involvement of an accessory protein called mmAA,which interacts with mCm to prevent mCm's inactivation or acts as a chaperone to promote regeneration of inactivated *** interdisciplinary studies using this protein as a model in different organisms have helped to elucidate the mechanism of action of this isomerase,the impact of mutations at a functional level and their repercussion in the development and progression of mmA in *** is still necessary to study the mechanisms involved in more detail using new methods.

Olfactory ensheathing glia promote axonal regeneration in the mammalian central nervous system,including retinal ganglion cell axonal growth through the injured optic ***,it is unknown whether olfactory ensheathing glia also have neuroprotective *** ensheathing glia express brain-derived neurotrophic factor,one of the best neuroprotectants for axotomized retinal ganglion ***,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective capacity of olfactory ensheating glia after optic nerve *** ensheathing glia cells from an established rat immortalized clonal cell line,TEG3,were intravitreally injected in intact and axotomized retinas in syngeneic and allogeneic mode with or without microglial inhibition or immunosuppressive *** and gene expression analyses were *** bulb-derived primary olfactory ensheathing glia and TEG3 express major histocompatibility complex classⅡ*** and syngenically transplanted TEG3 cells survived in the vitreous for up to 21 days,forming an *** axotomized retinas,only the allogeneic TEG3 transplant rescued retinal ganglion cells at 7 days but not at 21 *** these retinas,microglial anatomical activation was higher than after optic nerve crush *** intact retinas,both transplants activated microglial cells and caused retinal ganglion cell death at 21 days,a loss that was higher after allotransplantation,triggered by pyroptosis and partially rescued by microglial inhibition or ***,neuroprotection of axotomized retinal ganglion cells did not improve with these *** different neuroprotective properties,different toxic effects,and different responses to microglial inhibitory treatments of olfactory ensheathing glia in the retina depending on the type of transplant highlight the importance of thorough preclinical studies to explore these variables.

An experimental study was carried out to estimate the effect of the lead impurities on the silver distribution in the phases formed in the lead blast furnace. Samples of sinter with different contents of Cu, S, As and Sb were equilibrated under reducing atmosphere （p（CO）/p（CO2）=2.45） at 1573 K in a tube furnace and slowly cooled. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and microanalysis （SEm-EDS）. There were five immiscible phases：slag （CaO, FeO and SiO2）, matte （S, Cu and Fe）, speiss （As, Fe and Cu）, Cu-Sb phase and lead bullion （Pb, Ag, Sb, Cu, etc）. The results showed that Cu and Sb promote silver losses during the process since they form a liquid solution with higher silver solubility than liquid bullion. Sulfur and arsenic react with copper to form the matte and speiss phases, respectively. The effect of S and As is to reduce the amount of Cu-Sb alloy and then the silver losses from the bullion.

The corrosion and tribocorrosion behavior of Ti6Al4V/xTiN(x=0,5,10 and 15,vol.%)composites fabricated by solid-state sintering and their relationship with the microstructure and microhardness were *** body conditions such as a temperature of 37℃ and a simulated body fluid were *** main results demonstrated a microstructural change caused by theα-Ti stabilization due to solid-solution of nitrogen(N)into the titanium(Ti)lattice,producing a maximum hardening effect up to 109%for the Ti64 matrix by using 15 vol.%*** potentials of composites changed to more noble values with the TiN particle addition,while corrosion current density of samples increased as an effect of the remaining porosity,decreasing the corrosion resistance of ***,changes to a less passive behavior were observed for samples with 15 vol.%*** non-passive behavior of composites resulted in the reduction of the potential drops during rubbing in tribocorrosion ***,an improvement of up to 88%of the wear rate of composites was seen from the solid-solution *** results allowed to understand the relationship between composition and sintering parameters with the improved tribocorrosion performance of materials.

Application of laser shock processing （LSP） on 6061-T6 aluminum was made in order to evaluate its response to the erosive wear by silica sand. Impact angles of 15° , 30° , 60° and 90° were tested, two particle speeds （37 and 58 m/s） and two LSP irradiation conditions were used. Erosion marks were characterized by 3D profilometry and SEm analysis was conducted to identify the erosion mechanisms for each tested angle. The results showed a maximum erosive wear at low impact angles （ductile type behavior）. Erosion strength and the erosion mechanisms were not affected by the application of LSP and they were attributed to the high strain rate of the erosion phenomena. A few differences encountered on the erosion plots were explained on the basis of the surface roughness left by the LSP process. The maximum mass loss and the maximum erosion penetration happened in different impact angles （15° and 30° , respectively）. Finally, a well-defined erosion mechanism transition was observed, from cutting action at low impact angle, to crater formation at 90° of incidence.
