我国致密油气储层勘探前景广阔,开采价值高,但其储层岩石具有低孔、低渗、强非均质性等特征,建立储层波响应与岩石物性参数之间的联系仍面临挑战,针对致密储层波响应规律的研究有待深入开展。孔隙流体性质及围压会影响岩石的剪切模量及横波衰减,本文对部分饱和的8块致密岩石在不同围压条件下开展了超声波实验观测,采用谱比法估算岩石的横波衰减。结果显示,横波衰减随围压上升而下降,且饱水岩石的横波衰减大于饱油,饱气状态衰减最弱。气、水部分饱和岩石的测量结果中,岩石样本的横波衰减在中间含水饱和度达到峰值,此外,横波衰减随孔隙度、渗透率上升均有增大的趋势。基于实验测量的岩石物性参数,结合Voigt-Reuss-hill(VRH)平均、微分等效介质模型和喷射流模型构建了致密岩石衰减模型,分析了不同围压条件下含流体岩石的衰减特征,结果显示,该模型可合理描述横波衰减特征。在完全饱和与部分饱和条件下,模型预测的横波衰减显示出明显的压力及流体敏感性。以样本TS1-19为例,在完全饱和、变围压条件下,模型预测的横波衰减峰值在11.6~69.5范围内,衰减峰值随着围压增大而降低,且峰值频率有向高频端移动的趋势。在部分饱和、围压30mPa条件下,模型预测的横波衰减峰值在15.5~39.8范围内,衰减峰值随着含水饱和度增大而增大,且峰值频率向低频端移动。对于所有样本,以30mPa围压为例,所预测的横波衰减在5.6~38.6范围内,其中在饱和条件下,模型预测横波衰减随着孔隙度增大而增大,随着围压增大而减小;在气水部分饱和条件下,随着含水饱和度的增大,基于模型及Voigt和Reuss边界法预测的横波衰减整体呈增大的趋势,而实验观测到的横波衰减在中间饱和度达到极大值。

Defective interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling has been associated with Th2 bias and elevated IgE levels. However, the underlying mechanism by which IL-6 prevents the development of Th2-driven diseases remains unknown. Using a model of house dust mite (HDm)-induced Th2 cell differentiation and allergic airway inflammation, we showed that IL-6 signaling in allergen-specific T cells was required to prevent Th2 cell differentiation and the subsequent IgE response and allergic inflammation. Th2 cell lineage commitment required strong sustained IL-2 signaling. We found that IL-6 turned off IL-2 signaling during early T-cell activation and thus inhibited Th2 priming. mechanistically, IL-6-driven inhibition of IL-2 signaling in responding T cells was mediated by upregulation of Suppressor Of Cytokine Signaling 3 (SOCS3). This mechanism could be mimicked by pharmacological Janus Kinase-1 (JAK1) inhibition. Collectively, our results identify an unrecognized mechanism that prevents the development of unwanted Th2 cell responses and associated diseases and outline potential preventive interventions.

Background: Patient-to-patient variability in the degree to which β-amyloid, tau and neurodegeneration impact cognitive decline in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) complicates disease modeling and treatment. However, the underlying mechanisms leading to cognitive resilience are not resolved. We hypothesize that the variability in cognitive function and loss relates to neuronal resilience of the hippocampal GABAergic network. methods: We compared TgF344-AD and non-transgenic littermate rats at 9, 12, and 15 months of age. Neurons, β-amyloid plaques and tau inclusions were quantified in hippocampus and entorhinal cortex. Somatostatin (SST) and parvalbumin (PVB) interneurons were traced to examine hippocampal neuroplasticity and cognition was tested in the Barnes maze. Results: The 9-month-old TgF344-AD rats exhibited loss of neurons in the entorhinal cortex and hippocampus. Hippocampal neuronal compensation was observed in 12-month TgF344-AD rats, with upregulation of GABAergic interneuronal marker. By 15 months, the TgF344-AD rats had robust loss of excitatory and inhibitory neurons. β-Amyloid and tau pathology accumulated continuously across age. SST interneurons exhibited tau inclusions and atrophy from 9 months, whereas PVB interneurons were resilient until 15 months. The hippocampal PVB circuit underwent neuroplastic reorganization with increased dendritic length and complexity in 9- and 12-month-old TgF344- AD rats, before atrophy at 15 months. Strikingly, 12-month-old TgF344-AD rats were resilient in executive function and cognitive flexibility. Cognitive resilience in TgF344-AD rats occurred as maintenance of function between 9 and 12 months of age despite progressive spatial memory deficits, and was sustained by PVB neuroplasticity. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate the inherent neuronal processes leading to cognitive maintenance, and describe a novel finding of endogenous cognitive resilience in an AD model.

The development of laser performance models having real-time prediction capability for the OmEGA EP laser system has been essential in meeting requests from its user community for increasingly complex pulse shapes that span a wide range of energies. The laser operations model PSOPS provides rapid and accurate predictions of OmEGA EP lasersystem performance in both forward and backward directions, a user-friendly interface and rapid optimization capability between shots. We describe the model’s features and show how PSOPS has allowed real-time optimization of the lasersystem configuration in order to satisfy the demands of rapidly evolving experimental campaign needs. We also discuss several enhancements to laser-system performance accuracy and flexibility enabled by PSOPS.

Background: The effect of the K?hler group dynamics paradigm(i.e., working together with a more capable partner where one's performance is indispensable to the team outcome) has been shown to increase motivation to exercise longer at a strength task in partnered exercise video games (exergames) using a software-generated partner(SGP). However, the effect on exercise intensity with an SGP has not been investigated. The purpose of this study was to examine the motivation to maintain or increase exercise intensity among healthy, physically active middle-aged adults using an SGP in an aerobic ***: Participants(n = 85, mean age = 44.9 years) exercised with an SGP in a 6-day cycle ergometer protocol, randomly assigned to either(a)no partner control,(b) superior SGP who was not a teammate, or(c) superior SGP as a teammate(team score was dependent on the inferior member). The protocol alternated between 30-min continuous and 4-min interval lhigh-intensity session days, during which participants could change cycle power output(watts) from target intensity to alter distance and ***: mean change in watts from a targeted intensity(75% and 90% maximum heart rate) was the primary dependent variable reflecting motivational effort. Increases in performance over baseline were demonstrated without significant differences between conditions. Self-efficacy and enjoyment were significantly related to effort in the more intense interval ***: Under these conditions, no K?hler effect was observed. Exercise performance during the higher-intensity interval format is more closely related to enloyment and self-efficacy beliefs compared to the continuous sessions.

metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors on semi-insulating Ga As with interdigital electrodes showed significant enhancement in the spectral response in the near-infrared region as the electrode spacing is reduced. The photocurrent for the device with 5 μm interdigital spacing is five orders of magnitude higher than the dark current, and the room temperature detectivity is on the order of 2.4 × 1012cm Hz1∕2W-1at 5 V bias. Furthermore,the spectral response of this device possesses strong dependence on the polarization of incident light showing potential plasmonic effects with only microscale dimensions. These experimental data were analyzed using optical simulation to confirm the response of the devices.
