Objective This study aimed to evaluate the associations of serum folate and/or vitamin B12 concentrations with obesity among Chinese children and *** A cross-sectional study was conducted including 3,079 Chinese children and adolescents,aged 6 to 17 years,from Jiangsu,*** indices,such as,children's body mass index(BMI),BMI z-scores,waist circumference,and waist-to-height ratio were *** linear regression and generalized additive models were used to investigate the associations of serum folate and vitamin B12 levels with anthropometric indices and odds of *** We observed that serum vitamin B12 concentrations were inversely associated with all anthropometric indices and the odds of general obesity[odds ratio(OR)=0.68;95%confidence interval(CI)=0.59,0.78]and abdominal obesity(OR=0.68;95%CI=0.60,0.77).When compared to participants with both serum vitamin levels in the two middle quartiles,those with both serum folate and vitamin B12 levels in the highest quartile were less prone to general(OR=0.31,95%CI=0.19,0.50)or abdominal obesity(OR=0.46,95%CI=0.31,0.67).Conversely,participants with vitamin B12 levels in the lowest quartile alongside folate levels in the highest quartile had higher odds of abdominal obesity(OR=2.06,95%CI=1.09,3.91).Conclusion Higher serum vitamin B12 concentrations,but not serum folate concentrations,were associated with lower odds of childhood *** and adolescents with high levels of vitamin B12 and folate were less likely to be obese.

We recently read the opinion piece titled“Why people should run after positive affective experiences instead of health benefits”,which was carried out by Maltagliati et al.^(1)and published in the Journal of Sport and Health *** article started an important discussion about a physical activity(PA)promotion approach that encourages the use of affective experience to PA *** we agree with the authors’point of view and believe that its message can generate an important insight for PA promotion,the authors presented a scenario where behavior change seems to be exclusively dependent on the *** the existence of other barriers to an active lifestyle(e.g.,social inequalities)could enhance the authors’suggested approach because many people live in conditions that reduce their opportunities to engage in affective experiences related to PA;furthermore,affective experiences can vary depending on individual context.

Diet composition and its ecological drivers are rarely investigated in coexisting closely related *** used a molecular approach to characterize the seasonal variation in diet composition in four spiny lizard species inhabiting a mountainous *** metabarcoding revealed that the lizards Sceloporus aeneus,***,***,and *** mostly consumed arthropods of the orders Hemiptera,Araneae,Hymenoptera,and *** terrestrial lizards *** and *** mostly predated ants and spiders,whereas the arboreal–saxicolous *** and saxicolous *** largely consumed grasshoppers and *** taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity of the prey was higher during the dry season than the rainy season,likely because reduced prey availability in the dry season forced lizards to diversify their diets to meet their nutritional *** and phylogenetic composition varied seasonally depending on the species,but only dietary composition varied with *** dietary turnover was greater in *** than in ***,suggesting site-specific seasonal variability in prey availability;no other differences among species were ***,which lives at the highest altitude in our study site,displayed interseasonal variation in diet *** differences were correlated with the species’feeding strategies and elevational distribution,which likely contributed to the coexistence of these lizard species in the studied geographic area and beyond.

The factors that determine fibrosis progression or normal tissue repair are largely *** previously demonstrated that autophagy inhibition-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition(eMT)in human alveolar epithelial type Il(ATIl)cells augments local myofibroblast differentiation in pulmonary fibrosis by paracrine ***,we report that liver kinase B1(LKB1)inactivation in ATIl cells inhibits autophagy and induces eMT as a *** IPF lungs,this is caused by the down-regulation of CAB39L,a key subunit within the LKB1 complex.3D co-cultures of ATIl cells and MRC5 lung fibroblasts coupled with RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)confirmed that paracrine signaling between LKB1-depleted ATIl cells and fibroblasts augmented myofibroblast ***,these data suggest that reduced autophagy caused by LKB1 inhibition can induce eMT in ATIl cells and contribute to fibrosis via aberrant epithelial-fibroblast crosstalk.

Toxicity of a seafood toxin， domoic acid， in the retina via modulation of the NRF2 and NF-κB pathways

Domoic acid (DA)， a biotoxin， is produced by several species of marine dinoflagellate and diatom during harmful algal bloom events. DA is a neurotoxin， in humans and non-human primates， oral exposure to DA results in gastrointestinal effects， while DA at higher doses leads to neurological symptoms， seizures and memory deficiency. exposure of humans to DA occurs mainly through consumption of contaminated seafoods containing an accumulation of the toxin. Previously， it was unclear if DA can have toxic effects on the retina. We assessed the toxicity of DA in human retinal cells (ARPe-19) and in zebrafish embryos. DA significantly lowered ARPe-19 cell viability dose-dependently， and decreased anti-oxidative capacity， increased inflammation， and promoted cell death， possibly through modulating the NRF2 and NF-κB signalling pathways. Zebrafish embryos exposed to DA for four days from one day post fertilization (dpf) had an increase in mortality and a decrease in both hatching and heartbeat rate and exhibited morphological abnormalities. DA treatment also significantly downregulated expression of antioxidant genes and upregulated expression of inflammation mediators， as well as causing photoreceptor death in zebrafish embryos. The results demonstrate that consuming seafood containing DA will have potential toxic effects in human retinas.

It is also hoped that this report will provide useful data in comparing the profiles of those patients in the east and West who seek acupuncture treatment.

Physiologic magnetic fields on the order of magnitude 10-8gauss have been unified with their propitiators: quantum genetic particles, the gravitational potential of which is about a few ergs. As these fields are applied to the equations for solenoidal models, B=μNI/L, currents of about a microampere are derived; in perfect accord with recent clinical data indicating the therapeutic efficacy of weak currents in repair and growth of soft tissue, bone and nerve. The mechanism of reorientation of spin angular momentum of leptons and baryons influencing molecular magnetic domains to bring about "particle jumps" is presented to obtain a clinical picture. The clinical picture is that of an organism placed at right angles to flux lines in the midst of a solenoid immersed in water. The patient is then exposed to exogenously sourced resonant physiologic magnetic fields which convert malalligned atomic lattices of oncogenes and associated particles to homologous normal structures.

Adaptive inverse control of random vibration based on the filtered-X LMS algorithm

Random vibration control is aimed at reproducing the power spectral density （PSD） at specified control points. The classical frequency-spectrum equalization algorithm needs to compute the average of the multiple frequency response functions （FRFs）, which lengthens the control loop time in the equalization process. Likewise, the feedback control algorithm has a very slow convergence rate due to the small value of the feedback gain parameter to ensure stability of the system. To overcome these limitations, an adaptive inverse control of random vibrations based on the filtered-X least mean-square （LMS） algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, according to the description and iteration characteristics of random vibration tests in the frequency domain, the frequency domain LMS algorithm is adopted to refine the inverse characteristics of the FRF instead of the traditional time domain LMS algorithm. This inverse characteristic, which is called the impedance function of the system under control, is used to update the drive PSD directly. The test results indicated that in addition to successfully avoiding the instability problem that occurs during the iteration process, the adaptive control strategy minimizes the amount of time needed to obtain a short control loop and achieve equalization.

New Concepts and evidence Based Practice in Physiotherapy：examples from Stroke Rehabilitation

Objective:The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of new concepts and evidence based physiotherapy practice in stroke rehabilitation in the acute,post acute and chronic stage of stroke. Background:Historically physiotherapy has developed through the years from a focus on health,beauty,and equilibrium between spiritual,moral and physical powers,to a client centered service to people and populations to develop,to maintain and to restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. Still the health perspective is strong and divided into first,second and third prophylaxis. New concepts like evidence Based Medicine,evidence Based Practice,International Classification of Function and research within neurophysiology have had a deep impact on physiotherapy services,practice and education. The highest levels of documentation are Meta analyses and Randomised Controlled Trials,and today many of the physiotherapy methods used in rehabilitation of neurological conditions are tried out in different trials,bringing up-to date knowledge into practice. This paper focuses on rehabilitation of persons with stroke and physiotherapy methods in particular. Result:Physiotherapy in the acute stage improves motor function and enhances mobility. Rehabilitative efforts within the first few weeks as opposed to later favors better recovery. Type of physiotherapy in the acute stage is task oriented training with a focus on intensity and variability. Post acute therapy-based rehabilitation services targeted towards stroke patients living at home appear to improve independence in personal activities of daily living. In the chronic stage there is good evidence that aerobic exercise is beneficial for improving aerobic capacity in people with mild and moderate stroke. Progressive resistance strength training programmes reduce musculoskeletal impairment after stroke,without increasing tone or spasticity.
