Effect of dietary near ideal amino acid profile on heat production of lactating sows exposed to thermal neutral and heat stress conditions

Background:Reduced protein diet manifested potential to mitigate heat production based on the concept of ideal amino acid *** hypothesis of this study was that lactating sows fed a low crude protein(lCP)diet with supplemental amino acid produce less heat compared to those fed a high crude protein(HCP)diet under both thermal neutral(TN)and heat stress(Hs)***:Thirty-two lactating sows were allotted to HCP(193 g CP/kg)and lCP(140 g CP/kg)diets under thermal neutral(TN,21±1.5°C)or cycling heat stress(Hs,32±1.5°C daytime and 24±1.5°C nighttime)*** contained 0.90%sID lysine and 10.8 Mj/kg net *** pressure indirect calorimeters were used to measure gas exchange in individual sows with litters,and individual piglets on days 4,8,14 and *** and litter weights were recorded on days 1,10 and ***:sow total heat production(THP)was calculated by subtracting litter THP from sow+litter THP based on *** BW and body protein(BP)loss was greater for lCP diet compared to HCP diet in peak lactation(Pspectively)and throughout the entire lactation period(Pspectively)under Hs ***-stressed sows fed HCP diet had higher(Pl temperature at 13:00(Pspiration rate at 07:00(Psows fed HCP *** sows fed lCP diet,those under Hs tended to have higher(P=0.098)rectal temperature at 13:00 and had higher(Pspiration rate at 07:00,13:00 and 19:00 compared to TN *** relationship between daily THP and days in lactation of sows fed lCP diet was quadratic(Pscending trend until day 14 and a descending trend from days 14 to *** fed lCP diet had lower daily THP at day 18(Pse fed the HCP diet under Hs ***:Reduction in THP in sows fed lCP diet was largely associated with THP on day 18 of lactation under Hs *** lCP die

Making use of the Carlson-shaffer convolution operator, we introduce and study a new class of analytic functions related to conic domains. The main object of this paper is to investigate inclusion relations, coefficient bound for this class. We also show that this class is closed under convolution with a convex function. some applications are also discussed.

The perturbation method is applied to investigate the frictionally excited thermoelastic dynamic instability (TEDI) of a functionally graded material (FGM) coating in half-plane sliding against a homogeneous half-plane. We assume that the thermoelastic properties of the FGM vary exponentially with thickness. We also examine the effects of the gradient index, sliding speed, and friction coefficient on the TEDI for various material combinations. The transverse normal stress for two different coating structures is calculated. Furthermore, the frictional sliding stability of two different coating structures is analyzed. The obtained results show that use of FGM coatings can improve the TEDI of this sliding system and reduce the possibility of interfacial failure by controlling the interfacial tensile stress.

sexual selection via female mate choice is thought to have played a key role in the speciation ofhaplochromine cichlids, but a dominant role for visual signals in such processes has lately been called into question. In addition, the possible role of male mating preferences in haplochromine speciation has been little studied. We studied patterns of both female and male mate choice, based exclusively on visual signals, in order to evaluate potential reproductive isolation between two populations of the lake Malawi haplochromine labeotropheus fuelleborni. In the first experiment, females were allowed to choose between two males, one from the same population and the other allopatric with respect to the female. Females in this experiment responded more frequently to males from their own population. similarly, the males in these trials displayed more frequently when presented with females of their own population. In the second experiment, a female was allowed to choose between two males, either both from her own population or both allopatric. In these trials, both males and females from the Katale population interacted significantly more frequently in settings in which all three individuals were from the same population （＂same-population trios＂）, and those from the Chipoka population showed a similar trend. Thus, patterns in both male and female courtship behavior suggest that visual signals contribute to at least incipient reproductive isolation between populations of l. fuelleborni [Current Zoology 56 （ 1 ）： 65-72 2010].

The entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea Wize, formerly known as Paecilomyces fumosoroseus is reported as a promising biocontrol agent for controlling subterranean termites, particularly those belonging to the family Rhinotermitidae. In Malaysia, the family Rhinotermitidae includes two species of subterranean termites with extremely high economic importance; namely Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren, and the Asian slubterranean Termite (Coptotermes gestroi Wasmann). To comprehend the potential control of this soil-dwelling fungus against these subterranean termites in Malaysia, an investigation was carried out by testing the pathogenecity of 11 isolates against these termite species. All isolates showed pathogenic potential against the termite (Mortality rate of C. curvignathus:84.4%; C. gestroi:67.3%). IsolatePF49 was the most effective against both species of termites and was further tested for its virulence and *** lC_(50) values of PF49 against C. curvignathus and *** were 7.55×103 and 1.09×102 conidia/ml,respectively. The average number of days required to complete the mycosis process in C. curvignathus and *** were 4.7 and 8 days, respectively. These fungi are believed useful for protecting living trees, plants, wood,wood structures, and other cellulosic materials susceptible to termite infestation and damage.

For many years finite element method(FEM)was the chosen numerical method for the analysis of composite ***,in the last 20 years,the scientific community has witnessed the birth and development of several meshless methods,which are more flexible and equally accurate numerical *** meshless method used in this work is the natural neighbour radial point interpolation method(NNRPIM).In order to discretize the problem domain,the NNRPIM only requires an unstructured nodal ***,using the Voronoi mathematical concept,it enforces the nodal connectivity and constructs the background integration *** NNRPIM shape functions are constructed using the radial point interpolation *** this work,the displacement field of composite laminated plates is defined by high-order shear deformation *** the end,several antisymmetric cross-ply laminates were analysed and the NNRPIM solutions were compared with the *** obtained results show the efficiency and accuracy of the NNRPIM formulation.

Three New spiral Galaxies with Active Nuclei Producing Double Radio lobes

Double radio lobes are generally believed to be produced by active nuclei of elliptical ***,several double-lobed radio sources have been solidly found to be associated with spiral *** cross-matching~9×105 spiral galaxies selected from the sloan Digital sky survey DR8 data with the full 1.4 GHz radio source catalogs of NRAO VlA sky survey and Faint Images of the Radio sky at Twenty-centimeters,we identify three new spiral galaxies:j0326-0623,j1110+0321 and j1134+3046 that produce double radio lobes,and five doublelobed spirals previously *** combining the newly discovered and all the other known cases in literature,we confirm the relation that more massive spiral galaxies could produce more powerful radio *** find that most of these spiral galaxies are located in a galaxy group or a poor cluster,in which the environment is denser than in the field,and about half of them are the central brightest galaxies in their parent *** therefore suggest that the environment is one of the key factors for a spiral to produce double radio lobes.

In the present work, we synthesized sm2O3 doped snO2 in order to prepare a selective acetone sensor with fast response, quick recovery and good repeatability. Pure as well as 2 mol.%, 4 mol.%, 6 mol.% and 8 mol.% sm2O3 doped snO2 nanostructured samples were synthesized by using a co-precipitation method. The characterization of the samples was done by thermogravimetric and differential thermo-gravimetric analysis（TG-DTA）, X-ray diffraction（XRD）, field emission gun-scanning electron microscopy（FEG-sEM）, energy dispersive analysis by X-rays（EDAX）, high resolution scanning electron microscopy（HR-TEM）, selected area X-ray diffraction（sAED）, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller（BET） and ultraviolet-visible-near infrared（UV-Vis-NIR） spectroscopy techniques. The gas response studies of liquid petroleum gas, ammonia, ethanol and acetone vapor were carried out. The results showed that sm doping systematically lowered operating temperature and enhanced the gas response and selectivity for acetone. The response and recovery time for 6 mol.% sm2O3 doped snO2 thick film at the operating temperature of 250 °C were 15 and 24 s, respectively.
