Bone formation is a highly energy-demanding process that can be impacted by metabolic *** has been considered the principal substrate for osteoblasts,although fatty acids are also important for osteoblast ***,we report that osteoblasts can derive energy from endogenous fatty acids stored in lipid droplets via lipolysis and that this process is critical for bone *** such,we demonstrate that osteoblasts accumulate lipid droplets that are highly dynamic and provide the molecular mechanism by which they serve as a fuel source for energy generation during osteoblast *** cytoplasmic lipolysis leads to both an increase in lipid droplet size in osteoblasts and an impairment in osteoblast *** fatty acids released by lipolysis from these lipid droplets become critical for cellular energy production as cellular energetics shifts towards oxidative phosphorylation during nutrient-depleted *** vivo,conditional deletion of the ATGL-encoding gene pnpla2 in osteoblast progenitor cells reduces cortical and trabecular bone parameters and alters skeletal lipid ***,our data demonstrate that osteoblasts store fatty acids in the form of lipid droplets,which are released via lipolysis to support cellular bioenergetic status when nutrients are *** in this process result in impairment of bone formation,specifically reducing ATp production and overall osteoblast function.

Supersonic-Subsonic Transition in Relatively Narrow Channels

The flow structure in relatively narrow channels has a strong three-dimensional character with complex flow phenomena, including regions of localized separation, various vortical smictures, etc., all of which have to be considered when dealing with the problem of supersonic-subsonic transition. In this paper only the following three problems are considered: 1. the effect of channel width on transition from supersonic to subsonic velocities, 2. transition from supersonic to subsonic velocities in a system of shock waves - pseudoshock wave, 3. transition from subsonic to supersonic velocities in a critical cross section at the end of a duct with fully developed turbulent channel flow. problems connected with vortical structures and flow separation were discussed by the same author elsewhere (see References).

Vortices and Vortical Structures in Internal Aerodynamcs

The paper aims at summarizing the author’s recent phenomenological study of the orthe, developmeot and identification of vortical structures in internal aerodynamics.A connection between evolution of these structures and flow separation in closed cUrVed channels is also discussed. It has been shown that in real fluids the individual vortex cores very soon lose their identity and merge into a new dissipative structure, the properties of which still have to be defined.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Condensation Shock in Shock Tube

The homogeneous nucleation with subsequent spontaneous condensation of water, pentanol, and ethanol xupors in a carrier gas are investigated experimentally and theoretically in the expansion part of a shock tube. The precise pressure and Mcw measurements give additional information about the wetness, so that the nucleation and condensation rates which are closely coupled for stronger expansion rates are determined more accurately. predictions of the principle of the minimum of entropy production are compared with experiments performed for water, ethanol and pentanol at different pressures.

We examine a simple averaging formula for the gradieni of linear finite elemelitsin Rd whose interpolation order in the Lq-norm is O(h2) for d ptic problems in R2 we derive an interior superconvergencefor the averaged gradient over quasiuniform triangulations. We examine a steady-state heat radiation problem and its finite element approximation in Rd, d = 2, 3. A nonlinear Stefan-Boltzmann boundary condition is considered. Another nonlinearity is due to the fact that the temperature is always greater or equal than 0[K]. We prove two convergence theorems for piecewise linear finite element solutions.

This study was to assess the effect of fermented rapeseed meal(FRSM) in the diet of sows,taking into account the physiological period(pregnancy or lactation) and reproductive cycle(primiparous or multiparous sows),on production performance,nutrient digestibility,colostrum immunoglobulin content,and microbial flora in *** experimental material included 30 primiparous gilts and 30 multiparous sows after their second *** animals in the control groups C_G(gilts) and Cs(sows)received a standard diet for pregnant or lactating sows,depending on the reproductive *** groups E_G and E_S comprised gilts and multiparous sows,respectively,receiving a diet with a 4%share of FRSM in place of soybean meal up to 100 d of *** addition,from 100 d of gestation to7 d of lactation,the sows in experimental groups received a diet with a 9% share of FRSM,and then again a diet with a 4% share of FRSM until the end of *** addition of 4% to 9% share of a FRSM component in feed significantly improves production parameters,mainly in primiparous gilts,leading to an increase in litter size and in litter weight at 28 d of *** also helps to improve the digestibility of crude protein,fat,and crude fiber,and positively affects the gut microbiota of *** of rapeseed meal is an effective way to reduce anti-nutrients and to increase the level of lactic acid in the diet It also stimulates the immune system,which improves piglet health,reducing the severity of diarrhoea and mortality.

Calculated Lattice Energies of Energetic Materials in a prediction of their Heats of Fusion and Sublimation

The paper specifies an unambiguous basic relationship between the published results of ab initio calculations of lattice energies, E L,and heats of sublimation, ΔH s,of individual energetic materials. In this relationship,the ΔH s value has been replaced by heats of fusion, ΔH m,tr . Thereby its unambiguity has been lost,and the similarity of details of molecular structure begins to be of decisive importance. The resulting partial relationships,together with the basic relationship,have been used for prediction of ΔH s,and ΔH m,tr values of technically attractive polynitro compounds.
