The current lithospheric geodynamics and tectonophysics in the Baikal rift are discussed in terms of a nonlinear oscillator with *** nonlinear oscillator model is applicable to the area because stress change shows up as quasi-periodic inharmonic oscillations at rifting attractor structures （RAS）.The model is consistent with the space-time patterns of regional seismicity in which coupled large earthquakes,proximal in time but distant in space,may be a response to bifurcations in nonlinear resonance hysteresis in a system of three oscillators corresponding to the rifting *** space-time distribution of coupled MLH ＞ 5.5 events has been stable for the period of instrumental seismicity,with the largest events occurring in pairs,one shortly after another,on two ends of the rift system and with couples of smaller events in the central part of the *** event couples appear as peaks of earthquake ‘migration＇ rate with an approximately decadal *** the energy accumulated at RAS is released in coupled large events by the mechanism of nonlinear oscillators with *** new knowledge,with special focus on space-time rifting attractors and bifurcations in a system of nonlinear resonance hysteresis,may be of theoretical and practical value for earthquake prediction *** of the results into the nearest future indicates the probability of such a bifurcation in the region,i.e.,there is growing risk of a pending M ≈ 7 coupled event to happen within a few years.

Worldwide construction and demolition waste (CDW) is currently dumped. To close the building cycle and the building materials cycle by recycling CDW in high technical applications, the technical quality of stony materials must be improved. For this purpose, concrete rubbles and brick rubbles, the two major stony constituents of CDW, should be separated from each other. Based on the differences in density and content of Fe-2O-3 between the two materials, a wet method of jigging and a dry method of magnetic separation are effective,tested.

Introduction: Choosing an appropriate cannulation site is important for doctors and patients. In our clinical practice, we have observed that agitation and pain were less in the postoperative period when the cannula was inserted site. Cannulation anxiety in adults and especially in children may increase the failure of interventions by activating the sympathetic system in varying degrees we aimed to investigate whether the site of the cannula inserted following the induction of inhalation is associated with postoperative agitation and pain in preschool children who would undergo an otolaryngology operation. Methods: Pediatric patients who would undergo adenoidectomy-tonsillectomy surgery between the ages of 3 - 7 were included in our study regardless of their genders. The patients have been randomly distributed into groups (Group E—hand, Group A—foot). The evaluation was performed 0 and 30 minutes after extubation by FLAAC Pain Scala and PAED. Results: When the hand and foot groups were compared in terms of P0 (PAED 0 min. rating) values, hand group results were statistically significantly higher. Similarly, at the time of P30 (PAED 30. min rating), The Hand group was determined to be high. Conclusion: As a result of the study, we believe that choosing the feet as the cannulation site may be useful in appropriate cases in pediatric patients.

The chemical transformation of natural oils provides alternatives to limited fossil fuels and produces compounds with added value for the chemical *** selective deoxygenation of natural oils to diesel-ranged hydrocarbons,bio-jet fuels,or fatty alcohols with controllable selectivity is especially attractive in natural oil feedstock *** review presents recent progress in catalytic deoxygenation of natural oils or related model compounds(e.g.,fatty acids)to renewable liquid fuels(green diesel and bio-jet fuels)and valuable fatty alcohols(unsaturated and saturated fatty alcohols).Besides,it discusses and compares the existing and potential strategies to control the product selectivity over heterogeneous *** research conducted and reviewed has only addressed the production of one category;therefore,a new integrative vision exploring how to direct the process toward fuel and/or chemicals is urgently ***,work conducted to date addressing the development of new catalysts and studying the influence of the reaction parameters(e.g.,temperature,time and hydrogen pressure)is summarized and critically discussed from a green and sustainable perspective using efficiency indicators(e.g.,yields,selectivity,turnover frequencies and catalysts lifetime).Special attention has been given to the chemical transformations occurring to identify key descriptors to tune the selectivity toward target products by manipulating the reaction conditions and the structures of the ***,the challenges and future research goals to develop novel and holistic natural oil biorefineries are *** a result,this critical review provides the readership with appropriate information to selectively control the transformation of natural oils into either biofuels and/or value-added *** new flexible vision can help pave the wave to suit the present and future market needs.

Recycling of End of Life Concrete Fines into Hardened Cement and Clean Sand

One of the massive by-products of concrete to concrete recycling is the crushed concrete fines, that is often 0 - 4mm. Although the construction sector is to some extent familiar with the utilization of the recycled coarse fraction (>4 mm), at present there is no high-quality application for fines due to its moisturized and contaminated nature. Here we present an effective recycling process on lab scale to separate the cementitious powder from the sandy part in the crushed concrete fines and deliver attractive products with the minimum amount of contaminants. For this study, a lab scale Heating-Air classification system was designed and constructed. A combination of heat and air classification, resulted in a proper separation of finer fraction (0 - 0.250 mm), from coarser fractions. Heating of the materials was followed by ball milling to enhance the liberation of the cementitious fraction. Experiments were carried out at different heating temperatures and milling durations. Experimental results show that by heating the materials to 500℃ for 30 seconds, the required time of ball milling is diminished by a factor of three and the quality of the recycling products satisfies well the market demand. In addition, the removal of contaminants is complete at 500℃. The amount of CaO in the recovered finer fraction from the recycling process is comparable with the amount of CaO in low-quality limestone. By using this fraction in the cement kiln as the replacement of limestone, the release of the chemically bound CO2 could be reduced by a factor of three.
