BACKGROUND percutaneous coronary intervention(pCI)of diseased saphenous vein grafts(SVG)continues to pose a clinical *** pCI guidelines give a class III recommendation against performing pCI on chronically occluded ***,contemporary outcomes after SVG intervention have incrementally improved with distal protection devices,intracoronary vasodilators,drug-eluting stents,and prolonged dual antiplatelet *** To reassess the procedural and long-term outcomes of pCI for totally occluded SVG with contemporary *** This was a retrospective observational study conducted at a single university *** study population consisted of 35 consecutive patients undergoing pCI of totally occluded ***-procedure dual antiplatelet therapy was continued for a minimum of one year and aspirin was continued *** outcomes were assessed at a mean follow-up of 1221±1038 *** primary outcome was freedom from a major adverse cardiac event(MACE)defined as the occurrence of any of the following:death,myocardial infarction,stroke,repeat bypass surgery,repeat pCI,or graft *** The study group included 29 men and 6 women with a mean age of 69±12 *** was present in 14(40%)*** patients had Canadian Heart Classification class III or IV *** presentation was an acute coronary syndrome in 34(97%)*** SVG age was 12±5 *** duration of occlusion was acute(patients,subacute(>24 h to 30 d)in 26%,and late(>30 d)in 40%.pCI was initially successful in 29/35 SVG occlusions(83%).Total stent length was 52±35 *** complications of distal embolization or no-reflow occurred in 6(17%)*** longer term follow-up,MACE-free survival was only 30%at 3 years and 17%at 5 *** pCI of totally occluded SVG can be performed with a high procedural success ***,its clinical utility remains limited by poor follow-up outcomes.

Ion-conducting Membranes Based on Bacterial Cellulose Nanofibers Modified by poly(sodium acrylate-co-2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid)

Green method for preparation of ion-conducting membranes(ICM) based on bacterial cellulose nanofibers(CNF) modified by a copolymer of sodium acrylate and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid was elaborated. FTIR and NMR data confirmed grafting of polyacrylate onto cellulose surface. Formation of porous structure of the ICM was controlled by SEM and AFM. The maximal ionic conductivity of the membranes reaches 1.5 and 3.1 mS·cm^(-1)(60 ℃ and 98% relative humidity) when they are saturated with water or H_2SO_4(1 mol·L^(-1)) electrolyte,respectively. prepared ICM was tested as a separator in a symmetrical supercapacitor with electrodes based on polyaniline hydrogel. The assembled cell demonstrate ability to operate at high current density up to 100 A·g^(-1) maintaining specific capacitance 165 F·g^(-1). Maximal specific capacitance of 289 F·g^(-1) was achieved at current density 1 A·g^(-1). Retaining of 90% of initial capacitance after 10000 of charge-discharge cycles proves high electrochemical stability of prepared ICM.

The aim of this study was to develop self-healable and robust elect roconductive film based on polyaniline copolymer for application as electrode in flexible *** this purpose,the electroconductive polymer brushes(EpB)was *** synthesis of EpB is based on graft polymerizations of acrylamide(AAm)on poly(vinyl alcohol)(pVA)with formation of pVA-pAAm polymer brush and subsequent graft copolymerization of aniline and p-phenylenediamine on pVA-pAAm resulting in formation of EpB with electroconducting copoly(aniline-co-pphenylenediamine)(pAph DA).It was found that the ratio between pVA and pAAm at the first stage greatly influence the electrochemical performance of the *** films were prepared by casting of EpB solution with subsequent *** of electrical current distribution through the film with AFM reveal more uniform distribution of pAphDA in EpB in comparison with reference pVA-pAphDA and pAAm-pAphDA *** was demonstrated that mechanical cha racteristics and electrical conductivity values of films restore at large extent after curring and self-healing under optimal relative humidity level(58%).The flexile supercapacitor cell with EpB film electrodes demon strate specific capacitance 602 mF·cm^(-2)at the current density of 1 mA·cm^(-2)and retention 94%of initial capacitance after 5000 charge/discharge cycles.

Outcomes following minimally invasive dorsal cheilectomy for hallux rigidus:A systematic review

An analysis of air pollution associated with the 2023 sand and dust storms over China:Aerosol properties and pM_(10) variability

Every spring,a large part of China is confronted with sand and dust storms(SDS)–mainly originating in the Gobi(including Chinese and Mongolian Gobi)and Taklamakan *** March-April 2023,most of northern,northwestern and northeastern China was struck by three sandstorms that affected an area with more than 500 million *** this study,aerosol optical,microphysical and radiative properties were studied during these SDS events using an integrated approach that combines satellite,terrestrial and re-analysis *** results showed that dusty conditions were observed in most areas north of the Yangtze River(Chang Jiang)with daily average pM_(10)concentrations exceeding 1000 lg/m^(3) in many *** aerosol optical depth(AOD)at 550 nm during three SDS events exceeded a value of 1 throughout nearly the entire northern part of the *** AERONET data obtained from the AOE_Baotou site showed a significant increase in total AOD and a corresponding decrease in AE during the *** single scattering albedo(SSA),asymmetry parameter(ASY),real refractive index(RRI)and imaginary refractive index(IRI)values indicate an abundance of scattering coarse-mode *** radiative forcing(ARF)at top of the atmosphere and at the earth’s surface was nearly always negative during the period and ranged from48.5 to+2.7 Wm^(-2)and from180.8 to66.6 Wm^(-2),resulting in high positive ARF values at ATM(from+63.8 to+132.3 Wm^(-2)).Each of these affects the heating of the atmosphere and cooling on the earth’s *** atmospheric heating rates ranged from 1.8 to 3.7 K day*** formation of these SDS mainly resulted from the passage of cold fronts associated with low pressure systems in the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts,creating conditions for dust to rise into the atmosphere and move further downwind.

Water quality, habitat, and fish assemblage relationships in middle-order agriculture and forest streams of the Mississippi Alluvial plain

Background Agriculture has greatly influenced water quality, habitats, and fish assemblages in streams of the Mississippi Alluvial plain(MAp) ecoregion. However, MAp streams have historically been understudied compared to streams in other agricultural regions of the USA. In this study, water quality, habitat, and fish assemblage composition were assessed seasonally(spring, summer, and fall) in eight representative MAp streams located across three U.S. states. The study design included four streams containing highly agricultural watersheds(herein termed “agriculture” streams) and four streams containing mostly forested watersheds(herein termed “forest” streams), which were intended to represent reference conditions for MAp *** In general, forest streams contained significantly better instream and riparian habitats than agriculture streams(p = 0.010–0.040) whereas agriculture streams contained significantly greater levels of primary nutrients(p pect to other physical and chemical variables were intermittent and season dependent. Fish assemblages in agriculture and forest streams were structured primarily along an environmental gradient reflecting instream habitat conditions, water nutrient concentrations, and benthic chlorophyll-a production. Structurally, fish assemblages in both stream types contained many regionally common species, though some species appeared to exhibit affinities for a particular stream type. Functionally, fish assemblages in agriculture streams contained more tolerant species, more omnivores, and fewer insectivores compared to forest stream assemblages, which were nearly all insectivores. Dietary fibre effects and the interplay with exogenous carbohydrases in poultry nutrition

A comprehensive understanding of the role of dietary fibre in non-ruminant animal production is elusive. Equivocal and conflated definitions of fibre coupled with significant analytical complexity,interact with poorly defined host and microbiome relationships. Dietary fibre is known to influence gut development, feed intake and passage rate, nutrient absorption, microbiome taxonomy and function, gut p H, endogenous nutrient loss, environmental sustainability, animal welfare and more. Whilst significant gaps persist in our understanding of fibre in non-ruminant animal production, there is substantial interest in optimizing the fibre fraction of feed to induce high value phenotypes such as improved welfare,live performance and to reduce the environmental footprint of animal production systems. In order to achieve these aspirational goals, it is important to tackle dietary fibre with the same level of scrutiny as is currently done for other critical nutrient classes such as protein, minerals and vitamins. The chemical,mechanical and nutritional role of fibre must be explored at the level of monomeric sugars, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides of varying molecular weight and decoration, and this must be in parallel to standardisation of analytical tools and definitions for speciation. To further complicate subject, exogenous carbohydrases recognise dietary fibre as a focal substrate and have varying capacity to generate lower molecular weight carbohydrates that interact differentially with the host and the enteric microbiome. This short review article will explore the interactive space between dietary fibre and exogenous carbohydrases and will include their nutritional and health effects with emphasis on functional development of the gut, microbiome modulation and host metabolism.
