Using the NASA Earth Exchange platform,the North American Forest Dynamics(NAFD)project mapped forest history wall-to-wall,annually for the contiguous US(1986–2010)using the Vegetation Change Tracker *** with any effort to identify real changes in remotely sensed time-series,data gaps,shifts in seasonality,misregistration,inconsistent radiometry and cloud contamination can be sources of *** discuss the NAFD image selection and processing stream(NiSPS)that was designed to minimize these sources of *** NiSPS image quality assessments highlighted issues with the Landsat archive and metadata including inadequate georegistration,unreliability of the pre-2009 L5 cloud cover assessments algorithm,missing growing-season imagery and paucity of clear *** maps of Landsat 5–7 image quantities and qualities are presented that offer novel perspectives on the growing-season archive considered for this *** 150,000+Landsat images were considered for the NAFD ***,one high quality cloud-free image in each year or a total of 12,152 images would be ***,to accommodate data gaps and cloud/shadow contamination 23,338 images were *** 220 specific path-row image years no acceptable images were found resulting in data gaps in the annual national map products.

it is known that raw-mixed vegetable salads are essential part of people＇s diet all around the world. These vegetables salads are consumed raw and often without heat treatment or thorough washing. Raw-mixed vegetable salads therefore can serve as vehicle for the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms associated with human diseases. The aim of this study was to isolate and analyze the common bacterial pathogens associated with raw-mixed vegetable salads prepared and sold by street food vendors in Korle-Gonno, Accra, Metropolis, Ghana. A total of 75 different raw-mixed vegetable salads were sampled from the open places and were subjected to bacteriological analysis using standard Food and Agriculture Organization （FAO） of the United Nations （UN） total aerobic plate count method. A total mean colony count of bacteria ranged 0.87-5.6 log10 CFU/g was isolated. Escherichia coli （35%）, Staphylococcus aureus （33%）, Klebsiella sp. （17%）, and Bacillus sp. （15%） were the bacteria isolated from the various raw-mixed vegetables salads investigated. This study has shown that all the raw-mixed vegetable salads sampled from Korle-Gonno, Accra Metropolis, Ghana had a high bacterial contamination and their persistence and proliferation is a reflection of poor hygienic practices by the street food vendors. The use of unsafe or contaminated water to irrigate the vegetables when growing on the farm or garden could also be a contributing factor.

高粱是世界上第五大主要粮食作物，也是非洲国家的主要粮食来源之一，Ｓｔｒｉｇａａｓｉａｔｉｃａ是一种寄生于高粱等主要农作物的野生草之一。选用两个对寄生草抗性表现差异的高粱品系“山桂红”和“ＳＲＮ３９”作亲本，构建了一个重组近交系群体（Ｒｅｃｏｍｂｉｎａｎｔｉｎｂｒｅｄ，ＲＩ），并随机筛选出９４个系用于构建分子连锁图谱和基因定位。在应用的２８６个多态性标记中，有２５１个标记分别标定在１０条不同的连锁群上，标记间的平均图距为７．１ｃｍ，总图谱覆盖了高粱基因组的１７７９ｃｍ，是目前国际上几个比较完整的高粱分子连锁图谱之一。群体的共分离分析表明，与寄生草抗性有关的萌发诱导物基因（Ｇｅｒｍｉｎｉｎａｔｉｏｎ　ｓｔｉｍｕｌａｎｔ　ｇｅｎｅ－ＧｅｒｍＳｔｉｍ）位于高粱的遗传连锁群Ｊ上，相距较近的分子标记为１３ｃｍ。进一步的精细定位分析，发现有两个分子标记分别位于基因的两侧，距离为１．６和２．１个ｃｍ。

Background: The incidence and mortality of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCC) are increasing worldwide. We used age-period-cohort (APC) modeling to evaluate the contribution of cohort effects to trends in iCC incidence and mortality in the US. Methods: incidence data were acquired from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End-Results (SEER) program. Mortality data were obtained from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention WONDER Database. APC models using restricted cubic splines were fitted to estimate change in incidence and mortality risk over age, and modification of incidence and mortality risks according to birth cohort and period of diagnosis or death. Likelihood ratio tests were used to summarize improvement in model fit with APC modeling. Results: There were 4,053 cases of iCC at SEER registry sites between 1973–2012. iCC incidence increased with older age and across all birth cohorts examined. inclusion of cohort effects tended to improve model fit relative to an age-period model (likelihood ratio test P=0.082). The national crude iCC-related mortality rate increased from 2.9 to 5.0 per 100,000 among males and 2.7 to 4.6 per 100,000 among females. Among males, iCC mortality risk varied across birth cohorts, and inclusion of cohort effects in a model predicting iCC mortality risk improved model fit (likelihood ratio test P=0.001), but cohort effects did not alter model fit among females (P=0.223). Conclusions: iCC incidence and mortality have increased over time in the United States. Birth cohort effects influenced increased iCC incidence and iCC mortality among males, but were not evident in the trend of iCC mortality among females.

A Clinical Dosimetry Analysis of Total Body irradiation for Leukemia Patients

Background and Purpose: To perform a retrospective in vivo dosimetry study of 129 total body irradiation (TBi) on leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients treated in our clinic from 2008 to 2011 and to find out if there is any indication of the necessity of developing a new efficient TBi approach. Materials and Methods: The in vivo dosimetry data of 129 patients treated with TBi between 2008 and 2011 were retrieved from the database and analyzed. These patients were mostly treated with the regime of a single fraction or 6 fractions with some exceptions of 8-fraction or 2-fraction treatments depending on the protocols that were applied. For every fraction of treatment, 10 pairs of diode dosimeters were used to monitor the doses to the midline of head, neck, arms, mediastinum, left lung, right lung, umbilicus, thigh, knee, and ankle for both AP and PA fields. The doses to the midline of the above body parts were considered to be the average of the AP and PA readings of each diode pair. Dose deviation from the prescribed value for each body part was studied by plotting the histogram of the frequency versus deviation and comparing this with the dose delivered to the midline of the umbilicus to where the dose was prescribed. The correlation of dose deviation to body part thickness was also studied. By studying the dose deviations, we can find the uniformity of general dose distributions for conventional TBi treatments. Results: The retrospective dosimetry study of the 129 TBi patient treatments indicates that for most of the patients treated in our clinic, the doses received by different body parts monitored with in vivo dosimetry were within the window of 10% difference from the prescribed dose. The inhomogeneity of dose on different body parts could be manually improved by using compensators, but the method is cumbersome and time consuming. The velocity–versus-time rundown curves from two experimental Ti-6Al-4V inertia friction welds were analysed and differentiated several times, to produce rotational acceleration, jerk, jounce (or snap), crackle and pop versus-times curves for each weld. Titanium alloys and their mechanical properties are known to be highly sensitive to strain rate as the material is deformed, though nothing has ever been considered in terms of the higher-order time-derivatives of position. These curves have been studied and analysed further, for a more complete understanding of the derivative trends. Rotational acceleration and jerk traces both display behavior patterns across the two welds as the part rotates under action from the flywheel. The rotational snap also displays a pattern in this derivative during the final approximately 0.5 s of welding, as the energy dissipates. Evidence of a distinct oscillatory pattern in the rotational crackle and pop terms was noted for one weld when differentiating over a larger time-base, though could not be replicated in the 2nd weld. The higher derivative curves allow distinction of different process regimes, indicating that inertial energy mostly influences the time-base of dynamically steady-state phase. Qualitative differences between initial energies are evident in higher derivatives.
