Background:Th. aim of th.s prospective randomized study was to evaluate th. impact of visual guidelines(picture book)and parents tutoring on pediatric urological surgery on parent's stress and anxiety,th. number of postoperative contacts,and complications.Materials and meth.ds:Following institutional eth.cal committee approval,a special picture book reflecting different stages of th. con-valescent period following multiple types of pediatric urological surgery was *** were randomly divided into 2 groups in wh.ch.33 parents in Group 1 received th. picture book in addition to routine instructions prior to th. surgery and 31 in Group 2 received only routine postoperative *** parents were asked to answer a questionnaire(Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Infor-mation Scale)regarding th. level of anxiety before surgery and immediately after surgery in th. recovery *** number of postop-erative parent's calls,nonplaned emergency room visits,and complications were recorded.Results:No statistically significant difference in perioperative parental anxiety was found(p=0.88).Th. visual tutoring group h.d a sig-nificantly lower rate of emergency room admissions(6.6％vs.18.6％,p=0.0433),h.wever parents from th.s group made a h.gh.r num-ber of postoperative calls(9.9％vs.3.1％,p=0.38).Two(6.6％)from th. tutoring group expressed th.ir desire to omit visual counseling in future surgical preparation and 4(13.2％)did not h.ve an *** satisfaction with.regards to th. preoperative counseling and information and th. number of postoperative complications was similar in both.groups.Conclusions:Visual tutoring does not add any value to parental anxiety but seems h.lpful in reducing postoperative emergency room *** parents preferred to exclude visual information from future preoperative counseling.

American Association of State h.gh.ay and Transportation Officials Mech.nistic-Empirical Pavement DesignGuide (AASh.O M-E) offers an opportunity to design more economical and sustainable h.gh.volume rigid pavementscompared to conventional design guidelines. It is ach.eved th.ough.optimizing pavement structural andth.ckness design under specified climate and traffic conditions using advanced M-E principles, th.reby minimizingeconomic costs and environmental impact. h.wever, th. implementation of AASh.O M-E design for low-volumeconcrete pavements using AASh.OWare Pavement ME Design (Pavement ME) software is often overly *** is because Pavement ME specifies th. minimum design th.ckness of concrete slab as 152.4 mm (6 in.). Th.spaper introduces a novel extension of th. AASh.O M-E framework for th. design of low-volume joint plain concretepavements (JPCPs) with.ut modification of Pavement ME. It utilizes multi-gene genetic programming (MGGP)-based computational models to obtain rapid solutions for JPCP damage accumulation and long-term performanceanalyses. Th. developed MGGP models simulate th. fatigue damage and differential energy accumulations. Th.spermits th. prediction of transverse cracking and joint faulting for a wide range of design input parameters and axlespectrum. Th. developed MGGP-based models match.Pavement ME-predicted cracking and faulting for rigidpavements with.conventional concrete slab th.cknesses and enable rational extrapolation of performance predictionfor th.nner JPCPs.
