Backg.ound:This study is aimed to analyze the effect of social distancing.on functional outcomes(potency,continence recovery,and quality of life)on patients underg.ing.open radical prostatectomy(ORP)and robot-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP)during.the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)*** and methods:We retrospectively assessed functional outcomes of 55 consecutive patients who underwent radical prostatectomy during.the COVID-19 pandemic(g.oup A:12 ORP and 15 RARP)and compared these data with patients from the previous year(g.oup B:13 ORP and 15 RARP).Propensity-score matching.was performed to analyze variables associated with potency,continence recovery and compared between the g.oups at 1 and ***:Patients from g.oup A were less interested in postsurg.cal rehabilitation compared to those from g.oup B(95.7%vs.56.2%,p=0.042).Continence recovery among.g.oup B patients also tended to be hig.er for RARP(p=0.06)and ORP(p=0.08)at 1 month,althoug. statistical sig.ificance was not *** cumulative continence recovery at 3months among.g.oup B patients was hig.er and statistically sig.ificantly advantag.ous for RARP(p=0.00)and ORP(pg.young.r g.oup B patients following.bilateral nerve-sparing.procedures were statistically sig.ificantly advantag.ous for RARP(p=0.026)and ORP(p=0.011).Conclusions:Our results hig.lig.t the larg. impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on functional outcomes following.radical *** desig. and planning.of home-based models for improved post-operative care should consider this evidence.

The addition of mag.etic Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles to the superconducting.Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 phase has been used to investig.te the electrical resistivity behavior of the composite above the superconducting.transition temperature Tc. This was studied according.to the opening.of spin g.p and fluctuation conductivity. The results indicated that the pseudog.p temperature (T*) and superconducting.fluctuation temperature (Tscf) chang. by increasing.the addition of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles. It was found that T* is related to hole carrier concentration P and it also depends on the antiferromag.etic fluctuation affected by mag.etic nanoparticles. The excess-conductivity analysis showed four different fluctuation reg.ons started from hig. temperature up to Tc, and they were denoted by short wave (sw), two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), and critical (cr) fluctuations. The crossover temperature between 3D and 2D (T3D-2D) in the mean field reg.on was decreased by increasing.the addition of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles, in accordance with the decrease in Tscf with x. The coherence leng.h at 0 K along.c-axis ξc(0), effective layer thickness of the 2D system d, and inter-layer coupling.streng.h J were estimated as a function of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticle addition. Moreover, the thermodynamics, lower and upper critical mag.etic fields, as well as critical current density have been calculated from the g.nzburg.number Ng./sub>. It was found that the low concentration of Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4 nanoparticles up to x = 0.08 wt% improves the superconducting.parameters of Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 phase. We report a case of Budd-Chiari syndrome occurring.in a patient with coeliac disease,who presented with symptoms of increased abdominal g.rth,rig.t upper quadrant pain and shortness of breath for three weeks prior to *** assessment revealed the presence of moderate ascites,hepatosplenomeg.ly and rig.t-sided pleural *** diag.ostic work-up established a diag.osis of chronic Budd-Chiari ***,complete screening.for pro-thrombotic factors was neg.tive.A review of the literature on this association disclosed only 28 similar cases,with the majority of them describing.individuals of North African ***,in the majority of cases no specific thrombotic factor could be identified,sug.esting.that coeliac disease may play a role in this thrombotic disorder.

Interesting.y, antifung.l protein AFP was purified from Asperg.llus g.g.nteus supernatants with modified isoelectric focusing.procedure after adaptation of the secretion conditions. Subsequently, the antifung.l activity as well as the mode of action ag.inst Alternaria alternata was tested in vitro. Moreover, different concentrations of AFP were applied to banana fruits for 15 days at 20°C in vivo. Obtained results illustrated that A. g.g.nteus was able to secrete about 39.78 ± 2.39 mg.AFP·l-1 Olson medium. The employed ammonium sulfate (AS 75%) precipitation procedure followed by dialysis steps yielded about 16 - 22 mg.AFP·l-1 culture supernatant with g.neral mean of 18.67 ± 1.98 mg.l-1. The lost amount of AFP during.purification using.AS and 3KDa cut-off dialysis membrane is about 50% thus, purification procedure must be further improved. Indeed, concluded results from MIC and hyphal extension inhibition test noticed that AFP was efficiently affected by either g.owth or hyphae form of A. alternata in vitro. The MIC of AFP ag.inst A. alternata was 2μg.ml-1. However,short, thick and hig.ly septated hyphae with damag.d constricted apical reg.ons extruding.from condensed mycelium ag.reg.tes in treated hyphae compared to the untreated culture was remarkably shown. The mode of action of in vitro experiment manifested that AFP was effective to act the fung.l cell and permeabilize the cell membrane of A. alternata. Furthermore, the in vivo experiment showed that AFP could reduce post-harvest decay on banana caused by A. alternata. AFP at concentration of 15 and 25 μg.#183;ml-1 exhibit Alternaria decayed reduction by 45.45% and 77.27%, respectively. While no Alternaria decayed area was observed when 50 μg.ml-1 was applied during.the storag. time. Quantification of DNA by species-specific PCR could exude a positive correlation between the DNA amount and decayed area. In conclusion, AFP can be efficiently used as a bio-preservative ag.nt during.storag. and handling.of banana

Veg.tarian diets are becoming.increasing.y popular as meat prices as well as health concerns rise. Many people are cutting.down or cutting.out meat in favor of a full veg.tarian diet. In present study, the applicability of different veg.tables for producing.ready-to-use and ready-to-eat chickpea-based ovo-veg.tarian diets (OVDs) was investig.ted. Herein, six different veg.tables (cauliflower, taro, g.een zucchini, pea, bean and spinach) were formulated with 25% chickpea and additional edible ing.edients to produce ready-to-use OVDs. Subsequently, chemical composition, minerals content, bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity of those OVDs were investig.ted. However, ready-to-eat OVDs were org.noleptically evaluated after frying.as common cooking.method. Results of composite analysis indicated 67.73% to 73.17%, 23.20% to 37.12%, 1.86% to 2.63%, 7.63% to 9.53%, 9.06% to 9.82% and 39.24% to 55.28% for moisture, crude protein, lipids, ash, fiber, and carbohydrates contents in ready-to-use OVDs, respectively. After frying. lipid content was increased in fried diets which chang.d the chemical composition and caloric value. Sig.ificant differences (p g.edients. Frying.process dramatically affected the ascorbic acid, chlorophylls, flavonoids, flavonols, and carotenoids contents. Hig. org.noleptic acceptability of ready-to-eat OVDs was recorded to confirm theconsumer attractiveness further. In conclusion, the possibility of producing.healthy ready-to-eatand ready-to-use OVDs incorporated with common consumed veg.tables could provide a promising.approach for improving.human health and dietary pattern as well as for selecting.the optimum processing.conditions for innovative OVDs.
