This study examines whether the Three Links(3L)policy affected stock returns before,during and after the 2008 Taiwan leadership *** evidence shows that companies in the industries benefitting from(being damaged by)the 3L policy earned posi-tive(negative)cumulative abnormal *** the polit-ical party connection/affiliation seems to have had an impact as well,it was not *** both factors–the policy effect and the political connection effect–are considered together,we find that the policy effect persisted during the election,while the political connection effect did *** is obvious that the policy effect is a powerful factor explaining changes of stock returns during the 2008 leadership election in China’s Taiwan.

In this paper,we propose a novel model for pricing double barrier options,where the asset price is modeled as a threshold geometric Brownian motion time changed by an integrated activity rate process,which is driven by the convolution of a fractional kernel with the CIR *** new model both captures the leverage effect and produces rough paths for the volatility *** model also nests the threshold diffusion,Heston and rough Heston *** can derive analytical formulas for the double barrier option prices based on the eigenfunction expansion *** also implement the model and numerically investigate the sensitivities of option prices with respect to the parameters of the model.

The possibility that environmental pollutants damage human fertility is a topic of both public concern and scientific interest. The effect of environmental factors on male fertility （semen parameters） has been a special focus, stimulated in part by the dramatic damage inflicted by the pcstlcide DBCP on testicular function. Extensive searches for testicular toxicants （in particular, the proposed effects of endocrine-disrupting compounds through fetal exposure） have produced little hard evidence of impairment in humans. This scarcity of evidence may reflect the difficultles of studying human fertility. future fertifity studies should consider the wide spectrum of environmental exposures that plausibly affect reproduction.

Design approaches were proposed for both continuous and discrete LQI (linear quadratic with integral) controllers, if exist, to stabilize the inner loops in addition to stabilizing the closed loops and minimizing the quadratic cost functionals. Derived from the algebraic Riccati equations involved in continuous and discrete LQI control, the design approaches were straightforward obtained by setting the quadratic cost functionals to decoupled forms with positive definite weighting matrices. Examples were provided to verify the effectiveness of the approaches.

The oxides formed on the surface of the alloy 690 in hydrogenated supercritical water at 400℃ for 1000 h were investigated using scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,scanning transmission electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray *** oxides on me surface of the alloy 690 exhibited multi-layer structure：an outer layer consisted of granular crystallites（NiO and Nife_2O_4） and a compact inner layer（spinel and Cr_2O_3）.Chemical analysis indicated that the outer layer was enriched in nickel but depleted in chromium,whereas the inner layer was enriched in chromium and iron but depleted in *** inner layer was also characterized as layered structure by fe-rich spinel on top of continuous Cr_2O_3 ***,Cr_2O_3 nodules were readily observed at the oxides/alloy interface.

BACKGROUND Lumbar disc herniation and non-specific low back pain are common conditions that seriously affect patients’health-related quality of life(HRQoL).Although empirical evidence has demonstrated that novel Thermobalancing therapy and Dr allen’s Device can relieve chronic low back pain,there have been no randomised controlled trials for these *** To evaluate the efficacy of Dr allen’s Device in lumbar disc herniation(LDH)and non-specific low back pain(NSLBP).METHODS A randomised clinical trial was conducted investigating 55 patients with chronic low back pain due to LDH(n=28)or NSLBP(n=27),out of which 15 were randomly assigned to the control group and 40 were assigned to the treatment *** intervention was treatment with Dr allen’s Device for 3 *** in HRQoL were assessed using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale and the Japanese Orthopedic Association Back Pain *** Thermobalancing therapy with Dr allen’s Device showed a significant reduction in pain in the treatment group(Pficant improvement in patients’perception of pain indicating improvement in *** The out-of-hospital use of Thermobalancing therapy with Dr allen’s Device for Low Back Treatment relieves chronic low back pain significantly and without adverse effects,improves the level of activity and HRQoL among patients with LDH and *** study demonstrates the importance of this safe first-line therapy that can be used for effective at-home management of chronic low back pain.

Microplastics(MPs)pollution has become a serious environmental issue of growing global concern due to the increasing plastic production and *** climate warming,the cryosphere,defined as the part of Earth’s layer characterized by the low temperatures and the presence of frozen water,has been experiencing significant *** Arctic cryosphere(e.g.,sea ice,snow cover,Greenland ice sheet,permafrost)can store and release pollutants into environments,making Arctic an important temporal sink and source of ***,we summarized the distributions of MPs in Arctic snow,sea ice,seawater,rivers,and sediments,to illustrate their potential sources,transport pathways,storage and release,and possible effects in this sentinel *** concentrations of MPs in snow and ice varied about 1-6 orders of magnitude in different regions,which were mostly attributed to the different sampling and measurement methods,and potential sources of *** concentrations from Arctic seawater,river/lake water,and sediments also fluctuated largely,ranging from several items of per unit to>40,000 items m^(-3),100 items m^(-3),and 10,000 items kg^(-1) dw,*** land snow cover can be a temporal storage of MPs,with MPs deposition flux of about(4.9-14.26)×10^(8) items km^(-2) yr^(-1).MPs transported by rivers to Arctic ocean was estimated to be approximately 8-48 ton/yr,with discharge flux of MPs at about(1.65-9.35)×10^(8) items/*** storage of MPs in sea ice was estimated to be about 6.1×10^(18) items,with annual release of about 5.1×10^(18) *** transport of MPs from long-distance terrestrial sources contributed significantly to MPs deposition in Arctic land snow cover,sea ice and oceanic surface *** Great Rivers can flow MPs into the Arctic *** ice can temporally store,transport and then release MPs in the surrounded *** currents from the Atlantic brought high concentrations of MPs into the ***,there existed large u
