Background:Beginning with the concepts of stress developed by Selye,an approach to stress and pain management,known as neuro-emotional technique(NET),has been *** is a treatment approach based on the principle that the stressor effects of dormant and/or current unresolved issues or trauma are what determine one’s bodily *** responses are relatively personalized to the conditioned,experiential and emotional reality of the ***:To determine the effect of NET on patients with chronic low back pain(CLBP)over ***,setting,participants,and interventions:In a randomized,double-blinded,placebo-controlled study conducted in a single clinic,NET or control treatments were given twice weekly for 4 weeks in a population of 112 *** outcome measures:Outcome measures,including Oswestry Disability Index,Quadruple Visual Analogue Scale,the psychoneuroimmunology markers of blood serum levels of C-reactive protein,tumour necrosis factor-a,interleukin-1(IL-1),IL-6,and IL-10,and 10 dimensions of the Short Form Health Survey scale,were assessed at baseline and at 1,3 and 6 months following the intervention ***:Compared to placebo,NET produced clinical and statistical significance(P<0.001)via declines of virtually all physiological,pain and disability markers,accompanied by gains in quality-of-life indicators at 0(baseline),1,3 and 6 *** of the percentages of patients whose 5 biomarkers lay outside the normative range were achieved at 1,3 and 6 months by NET but not control ***:A randomized,controlled trial of CLBP patients indicated that 8 NET interventions,compared to placebo,produced clinically and statistically significant reductions in pain,disability and inflammatory biomarkers,and improvements in quality-of-life measures.

A regional climate-ecosystem model system isdeveloped in this study. It overcomes the weakness in tradi-tional one-way coupling models and enables detailed descrip-tion of interactive process between climate and natural eco-system. It is applied to interaction study between monsoonclimate and ecosystem in East Asia, with emphasis on futureclimate and ecosystem change scenario forced by doubledCO2. The climate tends to be warmer and wetter under dou-bled CO2 in Jianghuai and the Yangzi River valley, but itbecomes warmer and drier in inland areas of northern andnorthwestern China. The largest changes and feedbacks be-tween vegetation and climate occur in northern China,Northern inland ecosystems experience considerable degra-dation and desertification, indicating a marked sensitivityand vulnerability to climatic change. The strongest vegeta-tion response to climate change occurs in northern Chinaand the weakest in southern China. Vegetation feedbacksintensify warming and reduce drying due to increased CO2during summer in northern China. Generally, vegeta-tion-climate interactions are much stronger in northernChina than in southern China.

The use of lead, some of which is characterized by a highly radiogenic signature, sharply distinguishes Bronze Age China from the rest of Eurasia. Scholars have long hypothesized that silver can offer an independent proxy to characterize lead minerals. The summary of silver distribution associated with Shang and Western Zhou bronzes in this paper reveals an important difference between the south(Sanxingdui, Hanzhong, Jinsha, Panlongcheng, Xin’gan) and the Central Plains. Correlating silver with lead content as well as with the isotopic signature indicates that south China and the Central Plains had different lead sources during the late Shang period, and also that the highly radiogenic and common lead used at Anyang come from geochemical environments which cannot be distinguished by the level of silver.

Objective:Treatment options for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer(mCRPC)have expanded rapidly in recent *** the significant economic burden,we sought perform a cost-effectiveness analysis(CEA)of the contemporary treatment paradigm for ***:We devised a treatment protocol consisting of sipuleucel-T,enzalutamide,abiraterone,docetaxel,radium-223,and *** estimated number and length of treatments for each therapy using dosing schedules or progression free survival data from published clinical *** estimated treatment cost using billing data and Medicare reimbursement values and performed a *** analysis assumed US$100,000 per life year saved(LYS)as the threshold societal willingness to ***:Incremental cost-effectiveness ratios(ICER)for strategies incorporating sipuleucel-T that were not eliminated by extended dominance exceeded the societal threshold willingnessto-pay of US$100,000 per LYS,the lowest of which was sipuleucel-T+enzalutamide+abiraterone+docetaxel at US$207,714 per ***+abiraterone+docetaxel exhibited the most favorable ICER among strategies without sipuleucel-T at US$165,460 per ***:Based on the available survival data and current costs of treatment,all treatment strategies greatly exceed a commonly assumed societal willingness-to-pay threshold of US$100,000 per *** in this regard can only comewith a reduction in pricing,better tailoring of treatment or significant enhancements in survival with clinical use of treatment combinations or sequences.
