A modified stochastic model for lS+AR hybrid method and its application in polar motion short-term prediction

Short-term(up to 30 days)predictions of Earth Rotation Parameters(ERPs)such as Polar Motion(PM:PMX and PMY)play an essential role in real-time applications related to high-precision reference frame ***,least squares(lS)+auto-regressive(AR)hybrid method is one of the main techniques of PM ***,the weighted lS+AR hybrid method performs well for PM short-term ***,the corresponding covariance information of lS fitting residuals deserves further exploration in the AR *** this study,we have derived a modified stochastic model for the lS+AR hybrid method,namely the weighted lS+weighted AR hybrid *** using the PM data products of IERS EOP 14 C04,the numerical results indicate that for PM short-term forecasting,the proposed weighted lS+weighted AR hybrid method shows an advantage over both the lS+AR hybrid method and the weighted lS+AR hybrid *** to the mean absolute errors(MAEs)of PMX/PMY sho rt-term prediction of the lS+AR hybrid method and the weighted lS+AR hybrid method,the weighted lS+weighted AR hybrid method shows average improvements of 6.61%/12.08%and 0.24%/11.65%,***,for the slopes of the linear regression lines fitted to the errors of each method,the growth of the prediction error of the proposed method is slower than that of the other two methods.

Researchers are paying increasing attention to the development of low-cost and microcontroller-based accelerometers,in order to make structural health monitoring feasible for conventional bridges with limited monitoring *** with the low-cost sensor development,the use of the embedded accelerometers of smartphones for eigenfrequency analysis of bridges is becoming popular in the civil engineering *** paper,for the first time in the literature,studies these two promising technologies by comparing the noise density and eigenfrequency analysis of a self-developed,validated and calibrated low-cost Internet of things based accelerometer lARA(low cost adaptable reliable accelerometer)with those of a state of the art smartphone(iPhone XR).The eigenfrequency analysis of a footbridge in San Sebastian,Spain,showed that the embedded accelerometer of the iPhone XR can measure the natural frequencies of the under study bridge.

One-pot synthesis of N-doped petroleum coke-based microporous carbon for high-performance CO_(2) adsorption and supercapacitors

Waste resource utilization of petroleum coke is crucial for achieving global carbon emission ***,a series of N-doped microporous carbons were fabricated from petroleum coke using a one-pot synthesis *** as-prepared samples had a large specific surface area(up to 2512 m^(2)/g),a moderate-high N content(up to 4.82 at.%),and high population(55%)of ultra-micropores(lating the N content and ultra-microporosity led to efficient CO_(2)adsorption and *** ambient pressure,the optimal N-doped petroleum coke-based microporous carbon exhibited the highest CO_(2)uptake of 4.25 mmol/g at 25℃ and 6.57 mmol/g at 0℃.These values are comparable or even better than those of numerous previously reported adsorbents prepared by multistep synthesis,primarily due to the existence of *** sample exhibited excellent CO_(2)/N_(2)selectivity at 25℃ owing to the abundant basic pyridinic and pyrrolic N species;and showed superior CO_(2)adsorption-desorption cycling performance,which was maintained at 97% after 10 cycles at 25℃.Moreover,petroleum coke-based microporous carbon,with a considerably high specific surface area and hierarchical pore structure,exhibited excellent electrochemical performance over the N-doped sample,maintaining a favorable specific capacitance of 233.25F/g at 0.5 A/g in 6 mol/l KOH aqueous *** study provides insight into the influence of N-doping on the porous properties of petroleum coke-based ***,the as-prepared carbons were found to be promising adsorbents for CO_(2)adsorption,CO_(2)/N_(2)separation and electrochemical application.

Precipitation of multi-type nano-quasicrystals in a Mg-Zn-Y alloy

Mg-6Zn-1Y(at.%)ribbons with strengthening precipitates of multi-type nanoquasicrystals were prepared by melt-spinning followed by aging *** evolution of the rapidly solidified ribbons during isothermal aging was comprehensively studied using various electron microscopy *** new kinds of decagonal quasicrystals were formed in aged ribbons,in addition to precipitation of nanometer icosahedral ***-resolution observations reveal that both decagonal quasicrystals can be modeled by quasiperiodic tiling with decagonal clusters of 2.5 nm in diameter,but overlap of neighboring clusters in both decagonal quasicrystals is different from the Gummelt model observed in other quasicrystals.A shell composed of complex laves Mg-Zn domains was formed surrounding each decagonal quasicrystal precipitate upon prolonged *** addition,all kinds of nanoprecipitates exhibit excellent structure and size stability at 573 *** findings may have implications for not only fundamental studies about quasicrystals,but also microstructural manipulation of high-performance Mg alloys.

Transforming liquid flow fuel cells to controllable reactors for highlyefficient oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2, 5-furandicarboxylic acid at low temperature

Highly-efficient oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurtural(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA) at low temperature with air as the oxidant is still ***,inspired by the respirato ry electron transport chain(ETC) of living cells mediated by electron carriers,we constructed artificial ETCs and transformed liquid flow fuel cells(lFFCs) to flexible reactors for efficient oxidation of HMF to produce FDCA under mild *** lFFC reactor employed an electrodeposition modified nickel foam as an anode to promote HMF oxidation and(VO_(2))_(2)SO_(4) as a cathode electron carrier to facilitate the electron transfer to *** reaction rate could be easily controlled by selecting the anode catalyst,adjusting the external loading and changing the cathodic electron carrier or oxidants.A maximal power density of 44.9 mW cm^(-2) at room temperature was achieved,while for FDCA production,short-circuit condition was preferred to achieve quick transfer of *** a single batch operation with 0.1 M initial HMF,FDCA yield reached 97.1%.By fed-batch operation,FDCA concentration reached 144.5 g l^(-1) with a total yield of 96%.Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3+) redox couple was the active species mediating the electron transfer,while both experimental and DFT calculation results indicated that HMFCA pathway was the preferred reaction mechanism.

Role of phosphorus on the biogeochemical behavior of cadmium in the contaminated soil under leaching and pot experiments

Phosphorus(P)is involved in various biochemical reactions in plant growth,so it is beneficial to plants growing in soils contaminated by metals,including cadmium(Cd).However,few studies have reported on the mechanistic roles of P in mitigating Cd toxicity to ryegrass root,and especially in alleviating the disruption of the mitochondrial function of living *** this study,the physiological and biochemical mechanisms associated with ryegrass growth under various Cd and P treatments were investigated using leaching and pot *** concentration of Cd in soil leachates showed a significantly positive relationship with redox potential(Plationship(Pleachate pH values and dissolved organic carbon(DOC),indicating that exogenous P addition(as H_(2)PO_(4)*)may decrease Cd leaching from contaminated *** to the control(without P addition),the cumulative Cd content was reduced by 53.3%and 64.5%in the soil leachate with exogenous P application(20 mg/l and 80 mg/l),***,application of P decreased the Cd concentrations in the symplastic fractions and increased the Cd concentrations in the apoplastic fractions in root tips,which may help to alleviate Cd stress to the ***,exogenous P was found to play a positive role in mitochondrial function and Ca^(2+)variation in root cells under Cd stress,which provides novel insights into the mechanisms of exogenous P in alleviating plant Cd injury.

low-temperature NH_(3) abatement via selective oxidation over a supported copper catalyst with high Cu^(+) abundance

Selective catalytic NH_(3)-to-N_(2) oxidation(NH_(3)-SCO)is highly promising for abating NH_(3) emissions slipped from stationary flue gas after-treatment *** practical application,however,is limited by the non-availability of low-cost catalysts with high activity and N_(2) ***,using defect-rich nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes(NCNT-AW)as the support,we developed a highly active and durable copper-based NH_(3)-SCO catalyst with a high abundance of cuprous(Cu^(+))*** obtained Cu/NCNT-AW catalyst demonstrated outstanding activity with a T_(50)(*** temperature to reach 50% NH_(3) conversion)of 174℃ in the NH_(3)-SCO reaction,which outperformed not only the Cu catalyst supported on N-free O-functionalized CNTs(OCNTs)or NCNT with less surface defects,but also those most active Cu catalysts in open *** kinetics measurements and temperature-programmed surface reactions using NH_(3)as a probe molecule revealed that the NH_(3)-SCO reaction on Cu/NCNT-AW follows an internal selective catalytic reaction(i-SCR)route involving nitric oxide(NO)as a key *** to mechanistic investigations by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and X-ray absorption spectroscopy,the superior NH_(3)-SCO performance of Cu/NCNT-AW originated from a synergy of surface defects and ***,surface defects promoted the anchoring of Cu O nanoparticles on N-containing sites and,thereby,enabled efficient electron transfer from N to Cu O,increasing significantly the fraction of SCR-active Cu^(+)sites in the *** study puts forward a new idea for manipulating and utilizing the interplay of defects and N-dopants on carbon surfaces to fabricate Cu^(+)-rich Cu catalysts for efficient abatement of slip NH_(3)emissions via selective oxidation.

Curcumin Interferes with TGF-β1-Induced Fibrosis in NRK-49F Cells by Reversing ADAMTS18 Gene Methylation

Objective To explore the molecular mechanism by which curcumin affects renal interstitial fibrosis(RIF)progression by regulating ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 18(ADAMTS18)*** NRK-49F cells RIF model were induced with transforming growth factorβ1(TGF-β1).Effects of different concentrations of curcumin(0,10,20,and 30μmol/l)on cell proliferation,cell cycle,cell apoptosis as well as cyclin D1 expression were analyzed by cell counting kit-8,flow cytometry and Western blot,***18 methylation levels were determined by methylation-specific polymerase chain ***18,fibronectin(FN),type I collagen(Col-I)and alpha-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)mRNA and protein expressions were analyzed by real-time PCR(RT-PCR)and Western blot,***,cells were treated with 50 mmol/l 5-aza-2′-deoxycytidine(5-aza-dC,demethylation agent)for 72 *** of curcumin on extracellular matrix(ECM)deposition was evaluated by immunochemical staining and Western ***-49F cells were transfected with ADAMTS18 small interfering RNA and grouped into a normal control,ADAMTS18-knock-out(KO),and ADAMTS18-KO+30μmol/l curcumin groups,and whether curcumin can reverse the effect of ADAMTS18 knockdown on RIF was *** Compared with the control group,TGF-β1 significantly inhibited the proliferation of NRK-49F cells,blocked the G1/G0 phase,promoted cell apoptosis and inhibited cyclin D1 expression(Pl/l curcumin significantly reversed these processes(Pl staining and Western blot results showed that curcumin significantly inhibited the deposition of FN,Col-I andα-SMA(Plation,and reducing ECM ***18 knockdown promoted ECM accumulation,and curcumin reversed this process(Plusion TGF-β1-induced fibrosis in NRK-49F ***
