Main linac lattice design and optimization for E_(cm)=1 TeV ClIC

The Compact linear Collider （ClIC） is a future e＋e linear collider. The ClIC study concentrated on a design of center-of-mass energy of 3 TeV and demonstrated the feasibility of the technology. However, the physics also demands lower energy collision. To satisfy this, ClIC can be built in stages. The actual stages will depend on lHC results. Some specific scenarios of staged constructions have been shown in ClIC Concept Design Report （CDR）. In this paper, we concentrate on the main linac lattice design for Ecm=l TeV ClIC aiming to upgrade from E~.,=500 GeV ClIC and then to Ecru=3 TeV one. This main linac accelerates the electron or positron beam froth 9 GeV to 500 GeV. A primary lattice design based on the 3 TeV ClIC main linac design and its optimization based on the beam dynamics study will be presented. As we use the same design principles as 3TeV ClIC main linac, this optimization is basically identical to the 3 TeV one. All the simulations results are obtained using the tracking code PlACET.

BACKGROUND(-)-Fenchone is a bicyclic monoterpene present in essential oils of plant species,such as Foeniculum vulgare and Peumus boldus,used to treatment of gastrointestinal *** studies report its anti-inflammatory,antioxidant,and antinociceptive *** To investigate antidiarrheal activity related to gastrointestinal motility,intestinal secretion and antimicrobial *** A castor oil-induced diarrhea model was used to evaluate antidiarrheal *** transit and gastric emptying protocols were used to assess a possible antimotility *** receptors,presynaptic α2-adrenergic and tissue adrenergic receptors,KATP channels,nitric oxide were investigated to uncover antimotility mechanisms of action and castor oil-induced enteropooling to elucidate antisecretory *** antimicrobial activity was evaluated in the minimum inhibitory concentration model,the fractional inhibitory concentration index using the(-)-fenchone association method with standard antifungal ***(-)-Fenchone(75,150 and 300 mg/kg)showed antidiarrheal activity,with a significant decrease in the evacuation *** activity is possibly related to a percentage of reduced intestinal transit(75,150 and 300 mg/kg).The antimotility effect of(-)-fenchone decreased in the presence of pilocarpine,yohimbine,propranolol,l-NG-nitroarginine methyl ester or *** the enteropooling model,no reduction in intestinal fluid weight was observed.(-)-Fenchone did not show antibacterial activity;on the other hand,inhibits the growth of strains of fungi with a minimum fungicide concentration of 32μg/***,when it was associated with amphotericin B,no synergism was *** The antidiarrheal effect of(-)-fenchone in this study involves antimotility effect and not involve antisecretory mechanisms.(-)-Fenchone presents antifungal activity;however,it did not show antibacterial activity.

Energy development plans involving the use of solar energy are very beneficial from an environmental perspective. Its impacts are specific to geographic location;taking advantage of the solar energy potential basically depends on reliable estimates of the climatological amount of solar radiation received at the surface, which is a complex function of meteorological and environmental factors. Obtaining solar radiation data is essential for local development, to characterize them, there are several cutting-edge methods and technologies. One of them is the use of satellite images with high resolution. The aim of this paper is to assess the climatological aspects of incoming solar radiation in clear sky conditions in the State of Jalisco, Mexico and Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone. The results are intended to stimulate the use of solar radiation as an alternative energy source in an area where heavily relying on fossil fuel combustion.

毛细管是家用制冷应用中最常用的膨胀装置。毛细管是具有很小内径的长管,主要通过摩擦阻力来降低压力。这种装置的主要缺点是其几何形状固定,因此,一旦确定尺寸,毛细管在非设计条件下可能无法正常工作,导致冰箱的性能系数降低,能耗增加。全球能耗标准IEC62552在2015年进行了修订,冰箱的性能要考虑两种环境温度(即32℃和16℃)。因此会出现这类情况,即单速压缩机和毛细管的系统在32℃环境下良好运行,但在16℃环境下可能无法令人满意。替代方案是使用可变膨胀装置,例如,使用能够根据热负荷来调节制冷量的电子膨胀阀(EEV)。

Measurement of calprotectin in ascitic fluid to identify elevated polymorphonuclear cell count

AIM: To evaluate the diagnostic capability of calprotectin in ascitic fluid for detecting a polymorphonuclear (PMN) cell count > 250/μl ascites. METHODS: In this prospective observational study, a total of 130 ascites samples were analysed from 71 consecutive patients referred for paracentesis. Total and differential leukocyte cell counts were determined manually with a Neubauer chamber and gentianviolet stain. Calprotectin was measured in 1 ml ascetic fluid by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ElISA) and a point-of-care (POC) lateral flow assay with the Quantum Blue Reader (Bühlmann laboratories). All measurements were carried out in a central laboratory by senior personnel blinded to patient history. A PMN count > 250/μl was the primary endpoint of the study. The diagnostic value of ascitic calprotectin measurement was assessed by comparing to the final diagnosis of each patient that had been adjudicated by investigators blinded to calprotectin values. RESUlTS: The PMN count was > 250/μl in 19 samples (14.6%) from 15 patients (21.1%) and varied widely among the study population (range 10-19 800/ml and 1-17 820/ml, respectively). Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) was the final diagnosis in four patients (5.6%). All patients with PMN ≤ 250/μl had negative bacterial culture. PMN count was elevated in five patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis, three with lymphoma, one with neuroendocrine carcinoma, and two with secondary peritonitis due to abdominal perforation. PMN cell counts correlated with ascitic calprotectin values (Spearman's rho; r = 0.457 for ElISA, r = 0.473 for POC). A considerable range of ascitic calprotectin concentrations was detected by ElISA [median 0.43 μg/ml, interquartile range (IQR) 0.23-1.23 (range 0.10-14.93)] and POC [median 0.38 μg/ml, IQR 0.38-0.56 (range 0.38-13.31)]. Ascitic calprotectin levels were higher in samples with PMN > 250/μl, by both ElISA [median (IQR) 2.48 μg/ml (1.61-3.65) vs 0.10 μg/ml (0.10-0.36), P < 0.001] and POC

Non-Axillary Sentinel Node in Breast *** we Staging Correctly?A Multicenter Study

Purpose: The study of the sentinel lymph node is the best technique to stage, have a prognosis and decide the adequate treatment in breast cancer. The usual technique implies studding the axillary lymph node. Our work tries to identify affected nodes in other regions apart from the axilla and its possible impact in staging and treatment. Methods: The sentinel lymph node technique was performed on 1660 patients included in an observational and multicentric study designed to observe the presence of metastatic cells in axillary and non-axillary lymph nodes. Results: In 19% of the patients the sentinel lymph node was detected in non-axillary regions. In these cases metastatic cells were more frequent which could suppose a change in the stage and/or treatment. As protective factor against non-axillary nodes involvement we found the localization of the cancer in external quadrants while youth and injecting the tracer inside the tumor were found to be risk factors. Conclusions: Detecting and studding non-axillary lymph nodes in breast cancer leads to a more precise staging of the disease which could imply a change in the optimal treatment.
