Peptidoglycan recognition protein(PGRP)plays a vital role in invertebrate innate immunity system as a specific pattern recognition receptor for *** possess various PGRP systems for self-defense;however,it has not been characterized in razor clam Sinonovacula *** this study,eight PGRP coding sequences were identified and analyzed from *** genome,which are designated as ScPGRP-S1,ScPGRP-S2,ScPGRP-S3,ScPGRP-S4,ScPGRP-S5,ScPGRP-S6,ScPGRP-S7,*** results of molecular evolutionary analyses showed that all eight ScPGRP genes were highly conserved and exhi-bited a typical PGRP/amidase_2 domain as PGRP genes in other ***,the presence of signal peptides was predicted in ScPGRP-S2,ScPGRP-S3 and ScPRP-S6,while a transmembrane structure only existed in ***,a tertiary struc-ture analysis indicated that no disulfide bond was observed in ScPGRP-S5 and *** mRNA transcripts analysis of ScPGRPs revealed that the high expression patterns of ScPGRP-S1 and ScPGRP-S4 were found in mantle,adductor muscle and foot,while those of ScPGRP-S2,ScPGRP-S3 and ScPGRP-S6 were observed in ***,the temporal expression profiles of ScPGRPs in the hepatopancreas were analyzed by qPCRmmunology-and-microbiology/real-time-polymerase-chain-reaction>after Gram-negative Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus *** mRNA expressions of ScPGRP-S2,ScPGRP-S3 and ScPGRP-S6 could be induced by ***-rahaemolyticus and ***,our findings indicated that ScPGRPs were involved in the immune defense against invaders,which constituted a comprehensive understanding of the potential role of PGRP genes in ***.

An investigation into the deformation, movement and coalescence characteristics of water-in-oil droplets in an AC electric field

Drop-drop coalescence is important in electric dehydrators used for oil-water separation in the oil *** deformation degree,angle between the electric field and the center line of two drops,effects of intensities and frequencies of the electric field have been studied by analyzing droplet ***,seldom have people investigated the movement and the relative velocity in the process of dropdrop *** this paper forces acting on a single droplet and horizontal water droplets in an AC electric field were analyzed,and experiments were carried out to investigate the deformation,movement and coalescence characteristics of droplets with white oil and *** a micro high-speed camera system and image processing technology,the droplet images were collected and *** results indicate that the deformation is mainly affected by the electric field intensity,frequency,droplet diameter and the oil *** field strength and large diameter facilitate deformation of drops in the electric *** effect of frequency and oil viscosity is not *** frequency and higher oil viscosity will lead to smaller oscillation *** effect of electric field intensity and droplet diameter on oscillation amplitude is not *** the center-to-center distance between droplets is large,the forces acting on droplets in the horizontal direction are mainly dipole-dipole attraction and drag *** is also the film-thinning force when droplets get *** forces are simplified and *** on force analysis and Newton＇s second law,the relative movement is analyzed in different parts,and the relationship of center-to-center distance and time is in accordance with an explinear function at different *** to experimental data,the movement of 145 μm double droplets before coalescence can be fitted well with an explinear function at two *** addition,the whole movement process is investigated and can be estimated with

THE INFlUENCE OF FERTIlIZERS, NaHCO_3,SOIl TYPE ON CHEmISTRY OF FlOODED SOIlS AND RICE PlANT GROWTH

This research was conducted to study the influence of NaHCO3and fertilizer treatments on flooded soils tothe chemistry of soil and rice plant *** experiment was done in a greenhouse using a split-split plot design ofthree factors: two types of soil,three doses of fertilizers and three levels of NaHCO3with three *** firstfactor was two kind of soils Fluvaquent and Calciquert,the factor was without nutrient(blank),macro nutrients,andcompletely nutrients(second macro and micro nutrients),and the third factor was 0 mg/kg,200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kgof NaHCO3or equivalent with 0 mg,1 200 mg and 2 400 mg NaHCO3per *** experimental unit used a pot of 10l capacity and filled with soil mud equivalent with 6 kg of dried *** each of treatment combination mixed into themud soil,two plants of IR-32 variety were grown,and flooded at5 cm high accordingly with growth *** were the growth of tillers,electrical conductivity(E.C.) and *** experiment results showed that the treatment of NaHCO3increased the soluble salt content(E.C.) and soilacidity(pH) during flooding on Calciquerts and *** content of soluble salt decreased to 2.0 mmhos/cm,while pHon Calciquert decreased towards the neutral *** pHon Fluvaquents increased approach to *** treatments of NaHCO3inhibited the tiller growth,either macro fertilizer and completely fertilizer increased thetillers,but did not improve the negative effect of alkalinity due to of NaHCOtreatment.

Paleo-environmental conditions,paleoclimatic significance and effects of weathering on clay deposits in the lower Benue Trough,*** approach

Combined methods for mineralogical identifications were used to characterise the clay deposits within the lower Benue Trough of Nigeria to interpret paleo-environmental conditions,the paleoclimatic significance of the trough,and effects of weathering on the minerals as factors that favour its deposition/accumulation within the trough which host other important industrial minerals like coal,barite,limestone ***-sample random-powder XRD data and data for clay fractions deposited onto zero-background quartz plates were *** samples contained kaolinite,vermiculite,and traces of smectite,and the non-clay phases included quartz,microcline,and *** samples were unaffected after glycolation,confirming the absence of significant *** was characterized by the nature of its 10Åbasal peak with a width oflts support the presence of kaolinite,and the characteristic kaolinite O-H,Al-OH,Si-OH and Si-O-Al FTIR bands also confirmed its *** and book-like morphologies were observed under the SEm,typical of kaolinitic clay from in situ *** kaolinite abundance in these sediments is consistent with intense weathering of parent rocks rich in Al under wet/tropical paleo-climatic conditions with fresh and/or brackish water conditions in a continental *** variety of observed morphologies suggests that the deposits suffered more of chemical *** clay deposits in lower Benue Trough are quartz-rich,kaolinitic and derived from the chemical weathering of Al-rich source rocks.

Recovery of some valuable elements from lamprophyre dykes in the Abu Rusheid area, Southeastern Desert, Egypt

In the Abu Rusheid area, Southeastern Desert of Egypt, polymineralized (HREEs, U, Zn and Pb) lam-prophyre dykes are recently recorded. The lamprophyre dykes cut cataclastic rocks along share zones in NNW-SSE trends. The secondary U-minerals are essentially represented by uranophane, kasolite, torbernite and autunite. Ex-perimental work was carried out on the lamprophyre dykes for the recovery of uranium and other valuable elements (e.g. Zn, Pb and Al) from 50 kg of technological sample. The optimum conditions were: 100 g/l sulfuric acid con-centration, 1:5 S/l (solid/liquid) and soaking for 15 days at room temperature. The leaching efficiencies for the re-covery of uranium and other elements like Al, Zn and Pb were 40, 33.6, 98.8 and 78, respectively.

Second-generation direct-acting-antiviral hepatitis C virus treatment: Efficacy, safety, and predictors of SVR12

AIm To gather data on the antiviral efficacy and safety of second generation direct acting antiviral(DAA) treatment with respect to sustained virological response(SVR) 12 wk after conclusion of treatment, and to determine predictors of SVR12 in this *** Two hundred and sixty patients treated with SOF combination partners PR(n = 51), R(n = 10), SmV(n = 30), DCV(n = 81), lDV(n = 73), or 3D(n = 15).144/260 were pre-treated, 89/260 had liver cirrhosis, 56/260 had portal hypertension with platelets l, 25/260 had a mElD score ≥ 10 and 17/260 were postliver transplantation patients. 194/260 had HCV GT1, 44/260 HCV *** Two hundred and forty/256(93.7%) patients achieved SVR12(m ITT); 4/260 were lost to follow-up. SVR12 rates for subgroups were: 92% for SOF/DCV, 93% for each SOF/SmV, SOF/PR, 94% for SOF/lDV, 100% for 3D, 94% for pretreated, 87% for liver cirrhosis, 82% for patients with platelets l, 88% post-liver transplantation, 95% for GT1 a, 93% for GT1 b, 90% for GT3, 100% for GT2, 4, and 6. 12 patients suffered from relapse, 6 prematurely discontinued treatment, of which 4 died. Negative predictors of SVR12 were a platelet count l, mElD score ≥ 10(P liver cirrhosis(P = 0.005) at baseline. In Interferonfree treatment GT3 had significantly lower SVR rates than GT1(P = 0.016). Side effects were mild. CONClUSION Excellent SVR12 rates and the favorable side-effect profile of DAA-combination therapy can be well translated into "real-world". Patients with advanced liver disease, signs of portal hypertension, especially with platelets l and patients with GT3 are in special need for further research efforts to overcome comparatively higher rates of virological failure.

Stable isotope evidence for trophic niche partitioning in a South African savanna rodent community

Species＇ partitioning of resources remains one of the most integral components for understanding community assem- bly. Analysis of stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes in animal tissues has the potential to help resolve patterns of partitioning be- cause these proxies represent the individual＇s diet and trophic niche, respectively. Using free-ranging rodents in a southern Afri- can savanna as a model community, we find that syntopic species within habitats occupy distinct isotope niches. moreover, spe- cies with strongly overlapping isotope niches did not overlap in their spatial distribution patterns, suggesting an underlying effect of competitive exclusion. Niche conservatism appears to characterize the behaviour of most species in our sample - with little or no observed changes across habitats - with the exception of one species, mastomys coucha. This species displayed a generalist distribution, being found in similar abundances across a variety of habitats. This spatial pattern was coupled with a generalist isotope niche that shifted across habitats, likely in response to changes in species composition over the same spatial gradient. The case for m. coucha supports contentions that past competition effects played a significant evolutionary role in shaping community structures of today, including the absence of strong interspecific niche overlaps within particular habitats. Our study highlights the value of stable isotope approaches to help resolve key questions in community ecology, and moreover introduces novel ana- lytical approaches to quantifying isotope niche breadths and niche overlaps that are easily comparable with traditional metrices
