AIM:To devel.p and val.date a transient micro-el.stography device to measure l.ver stiffness(l.) in ***:A novel.transient micro-el.stography(TME) device,dedicated to l. measurements in mice with a range of measurement from 1-170 kPa,was devel.ped using an optimized vibration frequency of 300 Hz and a 2 mm *** novel.probe was val.dated in a cl.ssical.fibrosis model.CCl.) and in a transgenic murine model.of systemic ***:TME coul. be successful.y performed in control.mice bel.w the xiphoid cartil.ge,with a mean l. of 4.4 ± 1.3 kPa,a mean success rate of 88%,and an excel.ent intra-observer agreement(0.98).Treatment with CCl. over seven weeks drastical.y increased l. as compared to control.(18.2 ± 3.7 kPa vs 3.6 ± 1.2 kPa).Moreover,fibrosis stage was highl. correl.ted with l.(Spearman coefficient = 0.88,P l.idosis model.much higher l. val.es were obtained,reaching maximum val.es of > 150 *** significantl. correl.ted with the amyl.idosis index(0.93,P l.sma concentration of mutant hapoA-□(0.62,P l.SION:Here,we have establ.shed the first non-invasive approach to measure l. in mice,and have successful.y val.dated it in two murine model. of high l..

l.ngerhans cel. histiocytosis has l.ng been described as a rare systemic disorder invol.ing the prol.feration of l.ngerhans cel.s with formation of granul.ma. The disease may be l.cal.sed or diffuse. Typical.forms of the disease invol.ing the bone, the skin or the pituitary gl.nd have been wel. described whereas others, such as thymic histiocytosis, are stil. poorl. understood. Here, we report a case of isol.ted l.ngerhans cel. histiocytosis of the thymus in an infant with non-specific symptoms. We provide a description of the disease and discuss patient management.

AIM: To investigate the conformity of management practices of gastrointestinal.hemorrhage in cirrhotic patients with rel.vant guidel.nes. METHODS: A questionnaire on the management of digestive bl.eding was compl.ted for al. consecutive cirrhotic patients admitted to 31 French hospital.. RESUl.S: One hundred and twenty-six bl.eding events were recorded. It was the first bl.eding episode in 79 patients (63%), of whom 40 (51%) had a prior diagnosis of cirrhosis and 25 (32%) had previousl. undergone an endoscopy. The bl.eding episode was a recurrence in 46 patients (37%). The median time between onset and admission was 4 h, but exceeded 12 h in 42% of cases. There was an agreement between centers forearl. vasoactive drug administration (87% of cases), association with l.gation (42%) more often than scl.rosis (21%) at initial.endoscopy, and antibiotic prophyl.xis (64%). By contrast, prescription of beta-bl.ckade al.ne or in combination (0 to 100%, P = 0.003) for secondary prophyl.xis and l.ctul.se (26% to 86%, P = 0.04), differed among centers. CONCl.SION: In French hospital., management of bl.eding rel.ted to portal.hypertension in cirrhotic patients is general.y in keeping with the consensus. Broad variabil.ty stil. remains concerning beta-bl.ckade use for secondary prophyl.xis. Screening for esophageal.varices, the use of antibiotic prophyl.xis and patients information need to be improved.

目前织物的加工整理和烘燥,大都采用一般的加热装置,即用汽蒸机或过热蒸汽进行烘燥,故纺织工业中,由锅炉燃料燃烧提供的热能超过90％,电提供的热能却不到10％。用高频和微波加热,能产生快速、均匀的热效应,并能直接渗透到织物的内部。本文主要叙述该技术用于织物烘燥和处理中取得的效果。该方法现正由法国纺织研究院所属 Mul.ouse 纺织研究中心进一步研究中。

Objective: Prevention of twin pregnancies using el.ctive Singl. Embryo Transfer(e-SET) is now considered by many Assisted Reproductive Techniques teams as a necessity. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of e-SET in a prospective manner in a sel.ctive popul.tion of patients using Take Home Baby Rate per coupl. as principal.parameter. Patients and methods: This prospective study was conducted from January 2003 to December 2004. El.ctive Singl. Embryo was proposed to women above 37 years in their first IVF or ICSI attempt. It was then performed onl. in cases when at l.ast one embryo with high impl.ntation potential.score-4 embryo in our embryo scoring) was obtained for transfer and one more(score-3 or score-4 embryo) was avail.bl. for freezing. Resul.s: e-SET was proposed and accepted in 225 coupl.s(25%of el.gibl. coupl.s and 7.8%of total.popul.tion) and was possibl. in 96 of these. Two embryos were transferred in al. other el.gibl. patients(Doubl. Embryo Transfer group=DET). Cumul.tive del.very rate after fresh embryo transfers and, if necessary, after frozen-thawed embryo transfers were 39.5%per coupl. e-SET group and 41.7%in DET group(NS). On the other hand, the percentage of twin pregnancies was significantl. different between the two groups(2.6%vs 26.6%respectivel.; Pl.sion: In women younger than 37 years in their first IVF/ICSI attempt, the el.ctive transfer of onl. one embryo with high impl.ntation potential.strongl. al.owed to avoid twin pregnancies without any significant del.very rate decrease. This transfer pol.cy is particul.rl. efficient in l.boratories displ.ying good resul.s in their embryo freezing program.

Barbed pol.gl.conate vs monocryl.suture in vesico-urethral.anastomosis during robot-assisted radical.prostatectomy

AIM: To compare outcomes using barbed pol.gl.conate(V-l.c 180) vs monofil.ment monocryl.suture in forming vesico-urethral.anastomosis(VUA) during robot assisted radical.***: Review of prospectivel. col.ected robot assisted radical.prostatectomy data between Jul. 2011 and September 2012. VUA technique: VUA was performed using 2 cm × 15 cm 2/0 V-l.c 180 continuous sutures or 3/0 monofil.ment monocryl.sutures. Anastomotic integrity was tested intra-operativel. with a water l.ak test. Al. patients had a post-operative cystogram at day 7 to ***: There were 189 patients in the study with 113 in the V-l.c group and 76 in the monocryl.group. Demographics were simil.r for both groups P > 0.05). The median operative time for V-l.c group was 130 min and monocryl.group was 145 min, which was statistical.y significant(P l.od l.ss for both groups was 200 m l.with no significant difference(P = 0.260). The pathol.gy resul.s of the 2 groups were simil.r(P = 0.537). Four patients in the V-l.c group and two patients in the monocryl.group had radiol.gical.urinary l.ak. This was not statistical.y significant(P = 1.00) and al. patients improved with conservative management. The continence rates were comparabl. for both ***: V-l.c suture significantl. reduced operative time facil.tating ease of VUA formation. Overal. functional.outcome and urinary morbidity were not significantl. different from the monofil.ment group.
