Precision tuning of highly efficient Pt-based ternary alloys on nitrogen-doped multi-wall carbon nanotubes for methanol oxidation reaction

The electrochemical methanol oxidation is a crucial reaction in the conversion of renewable *** enable the widespread adoption of direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs),it is essential to create and engineer catalysts that are both highly effective and robust for conducting the methanol oxidation reaction(MOR).In this work,trimetallic PtCoRu electrocatalysts on nitrogen-doped carbon and multi-wall carbon nanotubes(PtCoRu@NC/MWCNTs)were prepared through a two-pot synthetic *** acceleration of CO oxidation to CO_(2) and the blocking of CO reduction on adjacent Pt active sites were attributed to the crucial role played by cobalt atoms in the as-prepared *** precise control of Co atoms loading was achieved through precursor *** physicochemical techniques were employed to analyze the morphology,element composition,and electronic state of the *** investigations and theoretical calculations confirmed that the Pt_(1)Co_(3)Ru_(1)@NC/MWCNTs exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance and durability for the process of *** enhanced MOR activity can be attributed to the synergistic effect between the multiple elements resulting from precisely controlled Co loading content on surface of the electrocatalyst,which facilitates efficient charge *** interaction between the multiple components also modifies the electronic structures of active sites,thereby promoting the conversion of intermediates and accelerating the MOR ***,achieving precise control over Co loading in PtCoRu@NC/MWCNTs would enable the development of high-performance catalysts for DMFCs.

Atomistic mechanism of high ionic conductivity in lithium ytterbium-based halide solid electrolytes:A first-principles study

As the next generation of commercial automotive power batteries begins replacing liquid lithium batteries,many look towards all-solid-state batteries to pioneer the ***-so lid-state batteries have attracted the attention of countless researchers around the world because of their high safety and high energy *** recent times,halide solid-state electrolytes have become a research hotspot within solid-state electrolytes because of their potentially superior *** this paper,in the framework of DFT,we investigated the atomic mechanisms of improving the ionic conductivity and stability of Li_(3)YbCl_(6).Our calculations show that both trigonal and orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) exhibit wide electrochemical windows and metastable properties(100 meV/atom>Ehull>0 meV/atom).However,the orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) can be stabilized at high temperatures by taking the vibrational entropy into account,which is supported by the experimental ***,it is expected that because of the Yb/Li synergistic interactions that,due to their strong mutual coulomb repulsion,influence the Li^(+)transport behavior,the orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) might have superior ionic conductivities with appropriate Li+migration paths determined by the Yb^(3+) ***,higher ionic conductivities can be obtained by regulating the random distribution of Li^(+) *** Li^(+)-deficiency can also largely increase the ionic conductivity by invoking *** study helps gain a deeper understanding of the laws that govern ionic conductivities and stabilities and provides a certain theoretical reference for the experimental development and design of halide solid-state electrolytes.

High efficiency photothermal cyclic self-healing antibacterial coating based on in-situ dual-functional BiOI@Bi_(2)S_(3)

Although extremely challenging,it is highly desirable to develop self-healing materials that exhibit high efficiency under environmental conditions for marine protection *** this work,polyurethane elastomers with hydrogen bond and dimethylglyoxime-urethane(DOU)coordination complex were combined with in-situ dual-functional BiOI@Bi_(2)S_(3) to synthesize high-efficiency photothermal cyclic self-healing antibacterial *** photothermal efficiency of BiOI@Bi_(2)S_(3) is improved by 38% through interfacial ***@Bi_(2)S_(3)/PU rapidly rises by 50.2℃ within 300 s under near-infrared(NIR)light,which can trigger the hydrogen bond of polyurethane coating and recover the barrier properties of the coating through *** functional theory was used to simulate and analyze the generation of multiple electron transfer paths after the vulcanization of BiOI,which improves the interfacial mobility of photogenerated carriers and generates more ***,molecular dynamics verified the self-healing mechanism of hydrogen bond and the photothermal lifting mechanism of the *** 5th scratches and self-healing cycle tests,the coating has a self-healing efficiency of more than 80%,which can ensure the self-healing and anticorrosion protection performance of the coating for multiple *** photocatalytic and photothermal properties of BiOI@Bi_(2)S_(3) enhance the antibacterial rate of the coating up to 99%.This work provides heuristic perspectives for the design of coatings with anti-corrosion,antibacterial and self-healing properties.

Graph neural network-based scheduling for multi-UAV-enabled communications in D2D networks

In this paper,we jointly design the power control and position dispatch for Multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)-enabled communication in Device-to-Device(D2D)*** objective is to maximize the total transmission rate of Downlink Users(DUs).Meanwhile,the Quality of Service(QoS)of all D2D users must be *** comprehensively considered the interference among D2D communications and downlink *** original problem is strongly non-convex,which requires high computational complexity for traditional optimization *** to make matters worse,the results are not necessarily globally *** this paper,we propose a novel Graph Neural Networks(GNN)based approach that can map the considered system into a specific graph structure and achieve the optimal solution in a low complexity ***,we first construct a GNN-based model for the proposed network,in which the transmission links and interference links are formulated as vertexes and edges,***,by taking the channel state information and the coordinates of ground users as the inputs,as well as the location of UAVs and the transmission power of all transmitters as outputs,we obtain the mapping from inputs to outputs through training the parameters of *** results verified that the way to maximize the total transmission rate of DUs can be extracted effectively via the training on ***,it also shows that the performance of proposed GNN-based method is better than that of traditional means.

Exploration on electrical resistance tomography in characterizing the slurry spatial distribution in cemented granular materials

This study investigated the application of electrical resistance tomography(ERT)in characterizing the slurry spatial distribution in cemented granular materials(CGMs).For CGM formed by self-flow grouting,the voids in the accumulation are only partially filled and the bond strength is often limited,which results in difficulty in obtaining in situ samples for quality ***,it is usually infeasible to evaluate the grouting effect or monitor the slurry spatial distribution by a mechanical *** this research,the process of grouting cement paste into high alumina ceramic beads(HACB)accumulation is reliably monitored with *** shows that ERT results can be used to calculate the cement paste volume in the HACB accumulation,based on calibrating the saturation exponent n in Archie’s *** results support the feasibility of ERT as an imaging tool in CGM characterization and may provide guidance for engineering applications in the future.

Correlative Mn-Co catalyst excels Pt in oxygen reduction reaction of quasi-solid-state zinc-air batteries

Zn-air batteries(ZABs)as a class of promising energy storage setups are generally powered by efficient and robust catalysts at the oxygen-involving *** the existing non-noble catalysts have outperformed noble Pt benchmark in the alkaline liquid-state ZABs,to the best of our knowledge few have excelled Pt in quasi-solid-state(QSS)***,we found that an integrated Mn-Co cathode derived from the bimetallic Mn/Co metal organic frameworks generates a 1.4-fold greater power density in the QSS ZABs than a Pt cathode while its power density in liquid-state ZABs is only 0.8-fold of the ***,such Mn-Co catalyst delivers high-rate oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)capability with half-wave potential of 0.84 *** in-depth characterizations and analyses have demonstrated that the Co and Mn species show the specific affinity towards H_(2)O and O_(2),respectively,synergizing the ORR process in the water-deficient environment of QSS *** work has enlightened the rational design of non-noble metal catalysts to improve the power density of QSS ZABs.

Aortic valve calcification disease (CAVD) is the most prevalent degenerative valve disease in humans, leading to significant morbidity and mortality. Despite its common occurrence, our understanding of the underlying mechanisms remains incomplete, and available treatment options are limited and risky. A more comprehensive understanding of the biology of CAVD is essential to identify new therapeutic strategies. Animal models have played a crucial role in advancing our knowledge of CAVD and exploring potential treatments. However, these models have inherent limitations as they cannot fully replicate the complex physiological mechanisms of human CAVD. In this review, we examine various CAVD models ranging from pigs to mice, highlighting the unique characteristics of each model to enhance our understanding of CAVD. While these models offer valuable insights, they also have limitations and shortcomings. We propose that the guide wire model shows promise for future CAVD research, and streamlining the methodology could enhance our understanding and expand the research scope in this field.

Europium-bearing organic framework with excellent X-ray scintillating luminescence

Two europium-bearing organic frameworks,termed as EuTPO-1 and EuTPO-2(H_(3)TPO=tris(4-carboxylphenyI)-phosphineoxide),are reported in this work.A series of characterizations of EuTPO-1and EuTPO-2,such as X-ray crystallography and photoluminescence spectroscopy,was performed to expatiate their structure and physicochemical *** of them are constructed by dimers of the europium-oxygen subunit of [Eu_(2)O_(16)] and TPO *** from high X-ray stopping attenuation and excellent luminescence efficiency,they emit sufficient luminescence when irradiated with ***,they possess stable light outputs when exposed to high humidities and strong radiation dose,outperforming the commercial scintillator CsI:*** result paves the way for developing new scintillator and enriches the compound of europium-bearing organic framework with X-ray scintillating luminescence.

The influence of patterned microporous layer on the proton exchange membrane fuel cell performances

The ordered membrane electrode assembly(MEA)has gained much attention because of its potential in improving mass ***,a comprehensive study was conducted on the influence of the patterned microporous layer(MPL)on the proton exchange membrane fuel cell *** patterned MPL is employed,grooves are generated between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion *** is found that the grooves do not increase the contact resistance,and it is beneficial for water *** the MEA works under low humidity scenarios,the MEA with patterned MPL illustrated higher performance,due to the reduced inner resistance caused by improved water retention,leading to increased ionic ***,when the humidity is higher than 80%or working under high current density,the generated water accumulated in the grooves and hindered the oxygen mass transport,leading to a reduced MEA performance.

An interesting synergistic effect of heteronuclear dual-atom catalysts for hydrogen production:Offsetting or promoting

To elucidate the synergistic effect of dual-atom catalysts(DACs)at the microscopic level,we propose and construct a prototype heteronuclear system,CuNi/TiO_(2),in which the two elements of a pair have significantly different d electron-donating abilities,as a piece in the *** density functional theory calculations,we investigate charge-dependent configurations of Cu-Ni dimers anchored on TiO_(2)by the mixing of individual constituent *** d electron-donating ability determines deposition sequence and position of transition metal atoms on oxides,establishing dimer pattern and metal-support *** interaction between Cu and Ni,beyond the coordination environment,predominately contributes to the synergistic effect.A complex adsorption-reduction behavior of H species on CuNi/TiO_(2)is *** reaction mechanism and catalytic activity of CuNi/TiO_(2)for hydrogen production are *** room temperature and high H coverages,CuNi/TiO_(2)shows better performance and efficiency than Ni1/TiO_(2).Our findings provide a new understanding of the synergistic effect on structure-activity relationships of supported dimers,which would be beneficial in the future design of various DACs or even atomically dispersed metal catalysts.
