Vibrio parahaemolyticus,a gram-negative halophilic bacterium that naturally inhabits coastal waters,causes gastroenteritis,skin infections,and septicemia in human beings[1].This bacterium produces multiple virulence factors,including thermostable direct hemolysin(TDH),TDH-related hemolysin(TRH),type Ⅲ secretion system 1(T3SS1),T3SS2,type Ⅵ secretion system 1(T6SS1),and T6SS2[1].Furthermore,Ⅴ.parahaemolyticus forms biofilms on the surface,which help it in adapting to unfavorable conditions[2].Mature biofilm formation requires special structures,including lateral and polar flagella,exopolysaccharide(EPS),and type Ⅳ pili[2].

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) are considered potential successors to lithium-ion batteries in the fields of energy storage and low-speed vehicles, thanks to their advantages such as abundant raw material sources, high energy density, and a wide operational temperature range. However, several scientific and engineering challenges still require attention in the development of sodium-ion batteries. Electrolyte salts, as a key component of sodium-ion battery electrolytes, play a critical role in battery performance. This paper provides a brief overview of the research progress on different electrolyte salt systems in sodium-ion batteries. It discusses characteristics such as ionic conductivity, electrochemical windows, electrochemical performance, and thermal safety in various solvent systems. Furthermore, the paper summarizes a series of strategies for controlling electrolyte and electrode interfaces, offering references for addressing the challenges in the mass production and application of sodium-ion batteries.

Infection and vaccination can provide protective immunity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). However, the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants has persisted, leading to breakthrough infections. Owing to the original antigenic sin (OAS), variant breakthrough infection or vaccination potentially induces a stronger antibody response against the ancestral strain than to subsequent variants, as in the case of influenza. Thus, overcoming OAS is important for the development of future vaccine designs. This review summarizes the recent findings on OAS in the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 and its variants, with an emphasis on future vaccine designs.

Efficient metal recovery from industrial wastewater facilitates addressing of the environmental hazards and resource requirements of heavy *** conventional electrodeposition recovery method is hampered by the limitations of interfacial ion transport in charge-transfer reactions,creating challenges for simultaneous rapid and high-quality metal ***,we proposed integrating a transient electric field(TE)and swirling flow(SF)to synchronously enhance bulk mass transfer and promote interfacial ion *** investigated the effects of the operation mode,transient frequency,and flow rate on metal recovery,enabling determination of the optimal operating conditions for rapid and efficient sequential recovery of Cu in TE&SF *** conditions included low and high electric levels of 0 and 4 V,a 50%duty cycle,1 kHz frequency,and 400 L·h^(-1)flow *** kinetic coefficients of TE&SF electrodeposition were 3.5-4.3 and 1.37-1.97 times that of single TE and SF electrodeposition,*** the deposition process under TE and SF conditions confirmed the efficient concurrence of interfacial ion transport and charge transfer under TE and SF synergy,which achieved rapid and highquality metal ***,the combined deposition strategy is considered an effective technique for reducing metal pollution and promoting resource recycling.

A series of spinel-type Mg_(0.25-x)Al_(2.57)O_(3.79)N_(0.21):xMn^(2+)(MgAlON:xMn^(2+))phosphors were synthesized by the solid-state reaction *** transparent ceramic phosphors were fabricated by pressureless sintering followed by hot-isostatic pressing(HIP).The crystal structure,luminescence and mechanical properties of the samples were systematically *** transparent ceramic phosphors with tetrahedrally coordinated Mn^(2+)show strong green emission centered around 515 nm under blue light *** the Mn^(2+)concentration increases,the crystal lattice expands slightly,resulting in a variation of crystal field and a slight red-shift of green emission *** weak absorption peaks in the transmittance spectra originate from the spin-forbidden ^(4)T_(1)(^(4)G)→^(6)A_(1) transition of Mn^(2+).The decay time was found to decrease from 5.66 to 5.16 ms with the Mn^(2+)*** present study contributes to the systematic understanding of crystal structure and properties of MgAlON:xMn^(2+)green-emitting transparent ceramic phosphor which has a potential application in high-power light-emitting diodes.

Stress measurement plays a crucial role in geomechanics and rock engineering, especially for the design and construction of large-scale rock projects. This paper presents a novel method, based on the traditional stress relief approach, for indirectly measuring rock stress using optical techniques. The proposed method allows for the acquisition of full-field strain evolution on the borehole's inner wall before and after disturbance, facilitating the determination of three-dimensional (3D) stress information at multiple points within a single borehole. The study focuses on presenting the method's theoretical framework, laboratory validation results, and equipment design conception. The theoretical framework comprises three key components: the optical imaging method of the borehole wall, the digital image correlation (DIC) method, and the stress calculation procedure. Laboratory validation tests investigate strain field distribution on the borehole wall under varying stress conditions, with stress results derived from DIC strain data. Remarkably, the optical method demonstrates better measurement accuracy during the unloading stage compared to conventional strain gauge methods. At relatively high stress levels, the optical method demonstrates a relative error of less than 7% and an absolute error within 0.5 MPa. Furthermore, a comparative analysis between the optical method and the conventional contact resistance strain gauge method highlights the optical method's enhanced accuracy and stability, particularly during the unloading stage. The proposed optical stress measurement device represents a pioneering effort in the application of DIC technology to rock engineering, highlighting its potential to advance stress measurement techniques in the field. Heavy metals(HMs)and antibiotic resistance have become serious environmental problems affecting soil and human *** microorganisms play key roles in pollutant degradation and biogeochemical cycling processes;however,the interactions among HMs,soil microbial communities,and antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs)in agricultural soils remain *** quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and NovaSeq sequencing,we evaluated heavy metal contents,abundances of ARGs,soil bacterial community structure and functions,and their correlations in paddy soils at 43 sampling sites along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,central and eastern *** results showed the co-occurrence of HMs,ARGs,and HM resistance genes across all paddy ***,significant positive associations were detected between HMs and resistance ***,czcA,and int1 were positively correlated with bacterial community *** Mantel test showed that bacterial community composition and functions were significantly associated with HMs and resistance genes,such as Cd,Cr,Zn,copA,czcA,int1,and ***,HMs and ARGs were the major factors shaping soil bacterial communities;thus,HMs triggered proliferation of HM and antibiotic resistances by influencing the mobile genetic element(int1)and soil microbial *** study revealed that HMs potentially drive the co-selection of ARGs by shifting soil bacterial community structure and functions,thereby increasing the potential risks to human health as well as ecological environment in the paddy soils along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
