Ocular alignment and results of strabismus surgery in neurologically impaired children

AIM:To evaluate ocular alignment and surgical results of strabismus surgery in neurologically impaired children.· METHODS:Files of 33 neurologically impaired squint children were *** patients had cerebral palsy(CP),4 had CP with mental retardation,therest had mental-motor retardation of unknown *** refractions,type and angle of strabismus,surgeries performed were recorded.· RESULTS:Mean follow-up was 34.0±16.5 ***-three patients had esodeviation,the remaining had *** 19 patients,angle of deviations measured at different visits were highly *** patients with stable angle of deviations or with unstable but high angle deviations had horizontal muscle *** horizontal deviation decreased from 43.75±10,69 D to 12.83±8.38D with surgery.· CONCLUSION:In neurologically impaired strabismic children,surgery is effective in patients with stable deviations or unstable but high angle *** for surgery should be made after a long follow up period.

Objective:To investigate the diuretic and renal effects of Silybum marianum *** Cistus ladaniferus *** normal ***:Four groups of rats were used in each *** first group received water,the second group received Cistus ladaniferus ***(100 mg/kg ***),the third group received Silybum marianum ***(100 mg/kg ***),and the fourth group received furosemide(10 mg/kg ***).Variables including urine volume,plasma and urine sodium,potassium and creatinine,and creatinine clearance were *** experiments were conducted.A single dose of each intervention was used and the variables were measured during 24 h,and the interventions were given daily for a total of 8 d and the variables were measured during various ***:The single dose of each plant extract increased urine volume at all-time intervals and increased urine sodium and potassium excretion without affecting plasma sodium and potassium(P<0.05).On the day 8 after daily administration,the plant extracts induced a significant diuresis and natriuresis without affecting serum electrolytes(P<0.05),while furosemide caused *** plant extracts significantly increased creatinine clearance(P<0.05).Conclusions:Silybum marianum *** Cistus ladaniferus L Increase creatinine clearance and have a significant diuretic effect without affecting serum *** marianum *** more potent than furosemide or Cistus ladaniferus L.

员工显然是公司最重要的资产,没有他们,就很难实现公司的基本目标。为了从员工身上获取更多的资源,有必要创造一个合适的工作环境,既满足员工个人的需求,又满足组织管理者的需求。员工关系是影响员工绩效的重要环境因素之一,尤其是在跨国公司。本研究旨在找出员工关系对员工绩效的影响,特别是确定摩洛哥跨国公司参与度、员工激励和员工沟通的影响。本研究的目标样本包含200名员工。通过分层随机抽样获得了186名员工的代表性样本。研究发现,投入和参与会影响员工的绩效。研究还发现,激励对员工关系与员工绩效之间的关系具有调节作用。研究得出的结论是,如果研究变量投入和参与,以及积极性得到改善,所选跨国公司的员工绩效将会提高。因此,本研究建议跨国公司政策制定者、政府和其他利益相关方应制定支持改善参与度和积极性的政策。

Objective: To investigate the diuretic, hypotensive and renal effect of Opuntia ficusindica in two different species in oral and intravenous ***: Diuretic activity was evaluated in rats with the plant cladode gel and aqueous extract administrated orally, and was evaluated in rabbits with plant extract administered intravenously. Single and repeated doses of cladode gel or aqueous extract of cladode were tested. Urine volume and blood and urine creatinine, sodium and potassium were measured, and creatinine clearance was calculated. The hypotensive effect of lyophilized extract of cladode was evaluated in rabbits. Two polyethylene PE50 catheters were used:one in the jugular vein for the infusion of the plant extract and the other in the carotid for the evaluation of the arterial ***: The cladode gel or aqueous extract increased urine volume, creatinine clearance and urinary excretion of sodium and potassium without significant effect on serum creatinine or blood urea. Furosemide, gel and aqueous extract of cladode insignificantly lowered plasma potassium in rats. Intravenous administration of the lyophilized extract caused a significant decrease in mean arterial pressure in rabbits with a significant increase in urine volume and urine sodium and potassium; the effect was dose *** administration of lyophilized extract did not affect plasma sodium or ***: Gel and aqueous extract of Opuntia ficus-indica cladode have a significant diuretic effect on rats, and the lyophilized extract has a diuretic and hypotensive effect on normotensive rabbits without deterioration in renal function test. Additional studies on active ingredients are essential to pave the way for clinical studies on diuretic and hypotensive effect of the plant.

Crustal deformation and deep metallogenic mechanisms in southeastern(SE)China are still *** this study,we applied the receiver function method to measure crustal thickness and Poisson’s ratio for crustal rock using teleseismic data recorded at 207 seismic stations from China Earthquake Administration *** results showed that crustal thickness varied from~27 km in the eastern part to~43 km in the western part of the study area,with an average crustal thickness of 31 *** crust is thick in the west and thin in the *** observed Poisson’s ratio for crustal rock was relatively high in the southern Cathaysia Block(CB),with an average of 0.295,while in the Qinling—Dabie terrane,it was relatively low,with an average of *** the middle of the Yangtze craton and central east of the CB,Poisson’s ratio for crustal rock varied from 0.257 to *** comparing Poisson’s ratio of the intrusive deposits with that of igneous rocks in volcanic complexes,we deduced that the metallic mineral system might be associated with orogenic and hydrothermal *** results indicated that multistage magma and mineralization in the study area might be attributed to the tectonic-magma-thermal *** high Poisson’s ratio for crustal rock in the southeastern margin of the CB and northeastern Upper Yangtze Craton might be related to Mesozoic lower crustal mafic partial melt,which provides an important environment for various magmatic intrusions and metallogenies.

Dear Editor, The cytosolic protein Tau is naturally present in human neurons, where it has a pivotal role in controlling microtubule stability. Hyperphosphorylation of Tau （observed during neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer＇s disease） impairs the protein＇s ability to bind microtubules. This results in microtubule disassembly and the formation of Tau aggregates, Tau protein is also widely expressed in peripheral tissues. In the male reproductive system, screening for Tau has focused solely on the rodent and bovine testis. In the present study, we used immunofluorescence and immunoenzymatic techniques （with a Tau-specific antibody） to investigate the presence of Tau protein in human ejaculated sperm and testicular tissue.

Demirkazık formation consisting of the limestones and dolomites is common in the Adana, Turkey. In this study, it is aimed to find the origin of dolomitization by preparing a detailed geological map. For this purpose, firstly, thin section/polished section and, chemical analysis of the twenty-one samples characterizing dolomitization of the field were prepared and examined. In the chemical analyzes, 21 samples were determined MgO-CaO ratio. Geological map was prepared by field study and MgO contents of the samples that are known coordinates in the chemical data, and the regions where dolomitization was effective were determined. Dolomitization in these carbonates occurs at early stages and late stages. Two dolomite types are petrographically determined;(1) fine crystalline dolomite (TD-1) with 10 - 25 μm crystal size and (2) coarse crystalline dolomite (TD-2) with 50 - 120 μm crystal size. TD-1 is formed by synsedimentary replacement and TD-2 derived from TD-1. The evidence of dolomitization due to pressure changes in the TD-2 dolomites is evidence of late diagenetic. There are three types of carbonate by chemical data;limestone, dolomitic limestone, calcitic dolomite and MgCO3 ratio of these is increased respectively. The rate of dolomitization is very variable and at the fracture regions, the Mg ratio increases, indicating that tectonism is the cause of dolomitization.

Objective:To investigate the importance of immunization in preventing measles infection and to determine the most useful laboratory tests for confirmation of ***:This study included pediatric cases evaluated with a presumed diagnosis of measles between December 2022 and June 2023,at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research *** effects of vaccination status and underlying disease on the clinical course,treatments,and complications were ***:In total,117 patients were enrolled in the study with a median age of 80 months(IQR:32.5-125.0).Twelve patients with contact history were asymptomatic and had an underlying disorder,and intravenous immunoglobulin was given to them for post-exposure ***-one patients had confirmed measles *** treatment was given to three patients(a newborn,a girl with rhabdomyosarcoma,and a healthy boy)with respiratory ***-eight percent of confirmed measles cases were unvaccinated,and all hospitalized cases were unvaccinated or *** full-vaccinated children had confirmed measles *** PCR from nasopharyngeal swabs was negative in all of them,and their diagnosis was established with anti-measles IgM ***:The measles vaccine is the most effective way to protect from measles and measles-related *** measles can also occur in fully vaccinated patients,the disease is milder than in unvaccinated *** ELISA and RT-PCR tests together may be beneficial in patients with high clinical suspicion for early diagnosis.
