Undoubtedly,the enormous progress observed in recent years in the Ni-rich layered cathode materials has been crucial in terms of pushing boundaries of the Li-ion battery(LIB)*** achieved improvements in the energy density,cyclability,charging speed,reduced costs,as well as safety and stability,already contribute to the wider adoption of LIBs,which extends nowadays beyond mobile electronics,power tools,and electric vehicles,to the new range of applications,including grid storage *** numerous published papers and broad reviews already available on the subject of Ni-rich oxides,this review focuses more on the most recent progress and new ideas presented in the literature *** covered topics include doping and composition optimization,advanced coating,concentration gradient and single crystal materials,as well as innovations concerning new electrolytes and their modification,with the application of Ni-rich cathodes in solid-state batteries also *** cathode materials are briefly mentioned,with the high-entropy approach and zero-strain concept presented as well.A critical overview of the still unresolved issues is given,with perspectives on the further directions of studies and the expected gains provided.

The complex mechanical and damage mechanisms of rocks are intricately tied to their diverse mineral compositions and the formation of pores and cracks under external *** rock tests reveal a complex interplay between the closure of porous defects and the propagation of induced cracks,presenting challenges in accurately representing their mechanical properties,especially under true triaxial stress *** paper proposes a conceptualization of rock at the mesoscopic level as a two-phase composite,consisting of a bonded medium matrix and frictional medium *** bonded medium is characterized as a mesoscopic elastic material,encompassing various minerals surrounding porous *** mechanical properties are determined using the mixed multi-inclusion *** of the bonded medium into the frictional medium occurs through crack extension,with its elastoplastic properties defined by the DruckerePrager yield criterion,accounting for hardening,softening,and *** and Eshelby’s equivalent inclusion methods are applied to the bonded and frictional media,*** macroscopic mechanical properties of the rock are derived from these mesoscopic ***,a True Triaxial Macro-Mesoscopic(TTMM)constitutive model is *** model effectively captures the competitive effect and accurately describes the stress-deformation characteristics of *** the TTMM model,the strains resulting from porous defect closure and induced crack extension are differentiated,enabling quantitative determination of the associated damage evolution.

To ensure the extreme performances of the new 6G services,applications will be deployed at deep edge,resulting in a serious challenge of distributed application *** paper traces back the latest development of mobile network application addressing,analyzes two novel addressing methods in carrier network,and puts forward a 6G endogenous application addressing scheme by integrating some of their essence into the 6G network architecture,combining the new 6G capabilities of computing&network convergence,endogenous intelligence,and communication-sensing *** paper further illustrates how that the proposed method works in 6G networks and gives preliminary experimental verification.

Transplantation of fibrin-thrombin encapsulated human induced neural stem cells promotes functional recovery of spinal cord injury rats through modulation of the microenvironment

Recent studies have mostly focused on engraftment of cells at the lesioned spinal cord,with the expectation that differentiated neurons facilitate *** a few studies have attempted to use transplanted cells and/or biomaterials as major modulators of the spinal cord injury ***,we aimed to investigate the role of microenvironment modulation by cell graft on functional recovery after spinal cord *** neural stem cells reprogrammed from human peripheral blood mononuclear cells,and/or thrombin plus fibrinogen,were transplanted into the lesion site of an immunosuppressed rat spinal cord injury ***,Beattie and Bresnahan score,electrophysiological function,and immunofluorescence/histological analyses showed that transplantation facilitates motor and electrophysiological function,reduces lesion volume,and promotes axonal neurofilament expression at the lesion *** of the graft and niche components revealed that although the graft only survived for a relatively short period(up to 15 days),it still had a crucial impact on the ***,induced neural stem cells and human fibrin reduced the number of infiltrated immune cells,biased microglia towards a regenerative M2 phenotype,and changed the cytokine expression profile at the lesion ***-induced changes of the microenvironment during the acute and subacute stages might have disrupted the inflammatory cascade chain reactions,which may have exerted a long-term impact on the functional recovery of spinal cord injury rats.

Revisiting the sodium-ion storage capability of hard carbon in carbonate-based electrolytes via a sodium-metal-free protocol

Common evaluation methodology of sodium(Na)-containing two-electrode or three-electrode configurations overlooks the interference from highly reactive Na metal,leading to the underestimation or inconsistent performance of low-potential hard carbon(HC)***,the trap of Na metal was systematically investigated with or without applied current,uncovering its inadequacy as the reference or counter electrode in different configurations.A Na-metal-free three-electrode protocol is proposed for evaluating the actual Na^(+)-storage capability of the typical low-potential HC *** avoiding Na crosstalk and precisely controlling the working electrode's potential,the actual electrochemical performance of HC in the carbonate esterbased electrolyte can be recognized with high capacity of 222 mAh g^(-1)at 2 C and 113 mAh g^(-1)at 5 C,correcting the misunderstanding of the inferior performance of HC in coin-type half cells(68%and 50%undervaluation at 2 C and 5 C,respectively).The advanced protocol is expected to reduce misunderstandings or underestimation due to evaluation methods and to guide the development of high-performance battery materials.

With the continuous expansion of the scale of renewable energy installation,the demand for energy storage has increased ***,there are significant differences in the value of energy storage in different scenarios,and the phenomenon of diminishing marginal benefits of energy storage is becoming more ***,themulti-dimensional value evolution trend of energy storage has become a key *** study selects indicators from three dimensions of energy storage:low-carbon emission reduction,smoothing wind and solar power fluctuations,and saving generation costs,quantifying the economic,environmental,and technical values of energy *** forms a quantitative evaluation system for energy storage *** comparing the calculated system values under different energy storage capacities,the marginal value evolution trend of energy storage is ***,considering factors such as the utilization rate of renewable energy,the change in energy storage value under different scenarios is *** results show that the value of long-duration energy storage is significantly affected by the energy storage ***,when the charge-discharge efficiency of longduration energy storage reaches 0.6 or above,the system value increases ***,appropriately reducing the cost of energy storage capacity also helps to improve its system value.

Prox1 Suppresses Proliferation and Drug Resistance of Retinoblastoma Cells via Targeting Notch1

Objective Retinoblastoma(RB)is a prevalent type of eye cancer in *** homeobox 1(Prox1)is a homeobox transcriptional repressor and downstream target of the proneural gene that is relevant in lymphatic,hepatocyte,pancreatic,heart,lens,retinal,and cancer *** goal of this study was to investigate the role of Prox1 in RB cell proliferation and drug resistance,as well as to explore the underlying Notch1 *** Human RB cell lines(SO-RB50 and Y79)and a primary human retinal microvascular endothelial cell line(ACBRI-181)were used in this *** expression of Prox1 and Notch1 mRNA and protein in RB cells was detected using quantitative real time-polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and Western *** proliferation was assessed after Prox1 overexpression using the Cell Counting Kit-8 and the MTS ***-resistant cell lines(SO-RB50/vincristine)were generated and treated with Prox1 to investigate the role of Prox1 in drug *** employed pcDNA-Notch1 to overexpress Notch1 to confirm the role of Notch1 in the protective function of ***,a xenograft model was constructed to assess the effect of Prox1 on RB in *** Prox1 was significantly downregulated in RB *** of Prox1 effectively decreased RB cell growth while increasing the sensitivity of drug-resistant cells to ***1 was involved in Prox1’s regulatory ***1 was identified as a target gene of Prox1,which was found to be upregulated in RB cells and repressed by increased Prox1 *** pcDNA-Notch1 was transfected,the effect of Prox1 overexpression on RB was ***,by downregulating Notch1,Prox1 overexpression slowed tumor development and increased vincristine sensitivity in *** These data show that Prox1 decreased RB cell proliferation and drug resistance by targeting Notch1,implying that Prox1 could be a potential therapeutic target for RB.
