Sleep disturbances are among the most prevalent neuropsychiatric symptoms in individuals who have recovered from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 *** studies have demonstrated abnormal brain structures in patients with sleep disturbances who have recovered from coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).However,neuroimaging studies on sleep disturbances caused by COVID-19 are scarce,and existing studies have primarily focused on the long-term effects of the virus,with minimal acute phase *** a result,little is known about the pathophysiology of sleep disturbances in the acute phase of *** address this issue,we designed a longitudinal study to investigate whether alterations in brain structure occur during the acute phase of infection,and verified the results using 3-month follow-up data.A total of 26 COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances(aged 51.5±13.57 years,8 women and 18 men),27 COVID-19 patients without sleep disturbances(aged 47.33±15.98 years,9 women and 18 men),and 31 age-and gender-matched healthy controls(aged 49.19±17.51 years,9 women and 22 men)were included in this *** COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances were included in a longitudinal *** found that COVID-19 patients with sleep disturbances exhibited brain structural changes in almost all brain *** cortical thicknesses of the left pars opercularis and left precuneus were significantly negatively correlated with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index ***,we observed changes in the volume of the hippocampus and its subfield regions in COVID-19 patients compared with the healthy *** 3-month follow-up data revealed indices of altered cerebral structure(cortical thickness,cortical grey matter volume,and cortical surface area)in the frontal-parietal cortex compared with the baseline in COVID-19 patients with sleep *** findings indicate that the sleep disturbances patients had altered morphology in the cortical an

The effects of autophagy on vascular endothelial cells induced by airborne PM2.5

The purpose of this study was to examine the direct toxicity of PM2.5 collected from Beijing on human umbilical vein endothelial cells（HUVEC）. A Cell Counting Kit 8（CCK8） assay demonstrated that PM2.5 exposure decreased the proliferation of HUVECs in a dosedependent manner. We also found that PM2.5 exposure induced autophagy in HUVECs, as evidenced by：（1） an increased number of double-membrane vesicles;（2） enhanced conversion and punctuation of the microtubule-associated protein light chain 3（LC3）; and（3） decreased levels of the selective autophagy substrate p62 in a time-dependent ***, promoting autophagy in PM2.5-exposed HUVECs with rapamycin increased the cell survival rate, whereas inhibiting autophagy via 3-methyladenine significantly decreased cell survival. These results demonstrate that PM2.5 exposure can induce cytotoxicity and autophagy in HUVECs and that autophagy play a protective role against PM2.5-induced cytotoxicity. The findings of the present study imply a direct toxic effect of PM2.5 on HUVECs and provide novel insight into the mechanism of cardiovascular diseases caused by PM2.5 exposure.

Quantitative reconstruction of salinity and precipitation changes in Central Asia over the past 3200 years using diatom and pollen records of lacustrine sediment in Aibi Lake of SW Junggar Basin

The response of lake environments in arid Central Asia to climate change during the Late Holocene over the centennial to millennial timescales remains contentious. The reason that primarily paleoenvironmental proxies interpreting diverse and the scarcity of accurate quantitative reconstruction records. In this study， we employed diatoms and pollen records from lacustrine sediment in the Aibi Lake of SW Junggar Basin to quantitatively reconstruct salinity and watershed precipitation amounts while exploring the associated forcing mechanism. The results indicate that Aibi Lake salinity varied between 2 g/L and 47 g/L during the Late Holocene period， indicating a generally brackish environment， and corresponding to prevailing Tryblionella granulata diatom in the lake basin. Westerly-dominated annual precipitation varied between 250 mm and 320 mm during the Late Holocene period in the basin， exhibiting a generally semi-arid environment and prevailing desert steppe vegetation. The Aibi Lake has a low salinity of average value of ～15 g/L. It exhibits elevated precipitation (average value of ～280 mm) during the periods of the Roman Warm Period (2900-1990 cal yr BP)， Dark Age Cold Period (1570-1140 cal yr BP)， and Little Ice Age (590-120 cal yr BP). The reconstructed precipitation and salinity exhibit a periodicity of ～200 years， which is consistent with the cycle of phase changes of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Total Solar Irradiance (TSI). This correlation suggests that variations in NOA and TSI significantly influence the precipitation and salinity changes in Central Asia over centennial to millennial timescales.

Multiple Change Points Detection in High-Dimensional Multivariate Regression

This paper considers the problem of detecting structural changes in a high-dimensional regression setting. The structural parameters are subject to abrupt changes of unknown magnitudes at unknown locations. The authors propose a new procedure that minimizes a penalized least-squares loss function via a dynamic programming algorithm for estimating the locations of change points. To alleviate the computational burden, the authors adopt a prescreening procedure by eliminating a large number of irrelevant points before implementing estimation procedure. The number of change points is determined via Schwarz’s information criterion. Under mild assumptions, the authors establish the consistency of the proposed estimators, and further provide error bounds for estimated parameters which achieve almost-optimal rate. Simulation studies show that the proposed method performs reasonably well in terms of estimation accuracy, and a real data example is used for illustration.

Pattern recognitionbased method for radar antideceptive jamming

In order to make the effective ECCM to the deceptive jamming, especially the angle deceptive jamming, this paper establishes a signal-processing model for anti-deceptive jamming firstly, in which two feature-extracting algorithms, i.e. the statistical algorithm and the neural network （NN） algorithm are presented, then uses the RBF NN as the classitier in the processing model. Finally the two algorithms are validated and compared through some simulations.

Path Tracking Controller Design of Automated Parking Systems via NMPC with an Instructible Solution

Parking difficulties have become a social issue that people have to *** parking system is practicable for quick par operations without a driver which can also greatly reduces the probability of parking *** paper proposes a Lyapunov-based nonlinear model predictive controller embedding an instructable solution which is generated by the modified rear-wheel feedback method(RF-LNMPC)in order to improve the overall path tracking accuracy in parking ***,A discrete-time RF-LNMPC considering the position and attitude of the parking vehicle is proposed to increase the success rate of automated parking ***,the RF-LNMPC problem with a multi-objective cost function is solved by the Interior-Point Optimization,of which the iterative initial values are described as the instructable solutions calculated by combining modified rear-wheel feedback to improve the performance of local optimal ***,the details on the computation of the terminal constraint and terminal cost for the linear time-varying case is *** closed-loop stability is verified via Lyapunov techniques by considering the terminal constraint and terminal cost ***,the proposed RF-LNMPC is implemented on a selfdriving Lincoln MKZ platform and the experiment results have shown improved performance in parallel and vertical parking *** Monte Carlo analysis also demonstrates good stability and repeatability of the proposed method which can be applied in practical use in the near future.

In-situ UV-Vis Spectroscopy of Trisulfur Radicals in Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Here we employ in-situ UV-Vis spectroscopy to monitor the sulfur redox reaction with oxygen-containing molecules as an additive,for example,biphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid(BDC).Furthermore,Raman spectrum,electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR),and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry(ESI-MS)measurements reveal that the formation of BDC-S_(3)•^(‒)complexes can establish the long-term stability of polysulfide radicals,change the kinetics of sulfur redox reaction,and then generate decent capacity retention and rate *** to the density functional theory(DFT)analysis,S_(3)•^(‒)radicals are the underlying product of S_(6)^(2‒)cleavage,owing to the decreased chemical energy and the increased stability of S_(3)•^(‒)radicals through Lewis acid-base *** assembled Li-S batteries with BDC additive deliver a high reversible capacity of 420 mA·h·g^(−1)over 200 cycles with over 98%Coulombic efficiency,under the current density of 0.2 C.

Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate),a crucial member of the large biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate family,suffers from its *** enhance its performance,we employed a straightforward approach involving the ring-opening copolymerization of racemic-β-butyrolactone(rac-β-BL)andβ-propiolactone(β-PL)using the syndio-selective amino-alkoxy-bis(phenolate)-yttrium complex as a catalyst,thanks to the excellent ductility of poly(3-hydroxypropionate).Control over the rac-β-BL/β-PL feeding ratios and polymerization time yielded random or block copolymers with tunable thermal and mechanical properties comparable to traditional fossil-based ***,we achieved one-pot synthesis of hard-soft-hard triblock copolymers by exploiting monomers’different copolymerization rates and a bifunctional initiator,thus transforming polyhydroxyalkanoates from hard and tough plastics to soft and ductile thermoplastic elastomers.
