Inflammation-driven endothelial dysfunction is the major initiating factor in atherosclerosis,while the underlying mechanism remains elusive.Here,we report that the non-canonical stimulator of interferon genes(STING)-PKR-like ER kinase(PERK)pathway was significantly activated in both human and mice atherosclerotic arteries.Typically,STING activation leads to the activation of interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF3)and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)/p65,thereby facilitating IFN signals and infammation.In contrast,our study reveals the activated non-canonical STING-PERK pathway increases scaffold protein bromodomain protein 4(BRD4)expression,which encourages the formation of super-enhancers on the proximal promoter regions of the proinflammatory cytokines,thereby enabling the transactivation of these cytokines by integrating activated IRF3 and NF-κB via a condensation process.Endothelium-specific STING and BRD4 deficiency significantly decreased the plaque area and inflammation.Mechanistically,this pathway is triggered by leaked mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)via mitochondrial permeability transition pore(mPTP),formed by voltage-dependent anion channel 1(VDAC1)oligomer interaction with oxidized mtDNA upon cholesterol oxidation stimulation.Especially,compared to macrophages,endothelial STING activation plays a more pronounced role in atherosclerosis.We propose a non-canonical STING-PERK pathway-dependent epigenetic paradigm in atherosclerosis that integrates IRF3,NF-κB and BRD4 in inflammatory responses,which provides emerging therapeutic modalities for vascular endothelial dysfunction.

Effects of phosvitin phosphopeptide-Ca complex prepared by efficient enzymatic hydrolysis on calcium absorption and bone deposition of mice

Phosvitin(PV)was treated with high-temperature,mild pressure(HTMP),and enzyme combination,and then phosvitin phosphopeptides-calcium(PPP-Ca)complexes were prepared.The low-calcium specific pathogen free-Kunming(SPF-KM)mice were used to determine the effect of PPP-Ca complexes on intestinal calcium absorption and their utilization for bone formation.The serum calcium content was the highest with the HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca treatment(2.19 mmol/L),and it significantly down-regulated the abnormal elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase(AKP)caused by calcium deficiency.The low-calcium control group had the lowest calcium deposited to the femur(80.41 mg/g)and the lowest femur bone mineral density(BMD)(0.17 g/cm^(3)),while HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca significantly improved bone calcium content(94.33 mg/g)and BMD(0.29 g/cm^(3)).The micro-computed tomography(MCT)images showed that the femur with the normal control,PV-Ca,and HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca treatments had a more compact,complete,and thicker trabecular network than the low-calcium and CaCl_(2)treatments.These results indicated that the organic calcium(HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca)promoted calcium absorption and bone deposition,and the effect of HTMP-Enz-PPP-Ca was better than the inorganic CaCl_(2).

研究穗肥施钾量[0 kg/hm^(2)(S0)、45 kg/hm^(2)(S1)、90 kg/hm^(2)(S2)]和叶面肥[不喷施叶面肥(P0)和喷施叶面肥(P1)]对稻虾共作水稻生理特性、产量和品质的影响,以期为稻虾共作模式下的水稻绿色高产优质栽培提供科学依据。结果表明,喷施叶面肥、施用穗肥钾均可提高水稻剑叶SPAD值,超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性,核酮糖-1,5-二磷酸羧化酶(RuBisCO)活性,过氧化物酶(POD)活性,可溶性糖含量,地上部干物质积累量,茎叶干物质转运量、转运率及其对籽粒的贡献率,同时降低丙二醛(MDA)含量,总体上以S1P1处理最优。喷施叶面肥、施用穗肥钾均可提高穗实粒数、结实率,进而提高产量,P1处理使S0、S1和S2条件下产量分别增加13.60%、9.76%和6.55%,S1和S2处理使产量分别提高3.70%和2.47%,以S1P1处理产量最高。与P0处理相比,S0和S1条件下,P1处理稻米的整精米率分别显著提高2.21%和1.82%,垩白粒率显著降低55.88%和50.01%,垩白度显著降低49.98%和50.00%,总蛋白质含量显著降低8.77%和12.08%;与S0处理相比,S1和S2处理稻米的垩白粒率分别显著降低11.23%和30.61%,S1处理稻米的总蛋白质含量显著降低4.15%;总体以S1P1处理效果最好。综合来看,喷施叶面肥、施用穗肥钾可以改善叶片光合作用,提高地上部干物质的积累、转运,提高产量和品质,以S1P1处理效果最好。

Phosvitin and its phosphopeptides contain a large amount of phosphorylated amino groups and exhibit a series of unique bioactivities including metal-binding,antioxidant,bacteriostatic and biomineralization activities due to strong interactions between phosphate groups and metal ions.In this article,the structures and preparation of phosvitin phosphopeptides,the interactions of phosphopeptides with metal ions,and the biological activities associated with their metal-binding capacity,as well as future potential application prospects are discussed.

Color space quantization-based clustering for image retrieval

Color descriptors of an image are the most widely used visual features in content-based image retrieval sys- tems. In this study, we present a novel color-based image retrieval framework by integrating color space quantization and feature coding. Although color features have advantages such as robustness and simple extraction, direct processing of the abundant amount of color information in an RGB image is a challenging task. To overcome this problem, a color space clustering quantization algorithm is proposed to obtain the clustering color space （CCS） by clustering the CIE1976L＊a＊b＊ space into 256 distinct colors, which ade- quately accommodate human visual perception. In addition, a new feature coding method called feature-to-character coding （FCC） is proposed to encode the block-based main color fea- tures into character codes. In this method, images are repre- sented by character codes that contribute to efficiently build- ing an inverted index by using color features and by utilizing text-based search engines. Benefiting from its high-efficiency computation, the proposed framework can also be applied to large-scale web image retrieval. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system can produce a signifi- cant augmentation in performance when compared to block- based main color image retrieval systems that utilize the tra- ditional HSV（Hue, Saturation, Value） quantization method.

Interrogating the impact of aggregation-induced emission nanoparticles on in vitro protein stability,ex vivo protein homeostasis,and in vivo biocompatibility

Aggregation-induced emission(AIE)materials offer promising perspectives in disease diagnosis and therapeutics given their unique optical and photochemical properties.A key step toward translational applications for AIE materials is to systematically and vigorously evaluate their biosafety and biocompatibility.While previous studies focus on cellular viability and toxicity,the impact of AIE materials on detailed stress responses manifesting cellular fitness has been less explored.Herein,this work provides the first piece of evidence to support amphiphilic functionalization of AIE nanoparticles minimizes the deterioration on proteome stability and cellular protein homeostasis(proteostasis).To this end,four scaffolds of AIE molecules were prepared,further functionalized into eight nanoparticles with two amphiphilic shells respectively,and characterized for their physicochemical properties.Thermal shift assay quantitatively demonstrates that AIE materials after amphiphilic functionalization into nanoparticles enhance proteome thermodynamic stability and ameliorate proteome aggregation propensity in cellular lysate,echoed by cell viability and fractionation experiments.Intriguingly,poor polydispersity index(PDI)of functionalized nanoparticles exaggerates their retention and aggregation in the cell.Comparative proteomic analysis uncovers that amphiphilic functionalization of AIE materials can minimize the deterioration of cellular protein homeostasis network.Finally,vigorous interrogation of functionalized AIE nanoparticles in mice model reveals the complexity of factors affecting the biocompatibility profiles in vivo,including materials’size,PDI,and treatment frequencies.Overall,amphiphilic functionalization of AIE materials into nanoparticles is necessary to maintain proteome stability and balance cellular protein homeostasis.

E-GrabCut： an economic method of iterative video object extraction

Efficient, interactive foreground/background seg- mentation in video is of great practical importance in video editing. This paper proposes an interactive and unsupervised video object segmentation algorithm named E-GrabCut con- centrating on achieving both of the segmentation quality and time efficiency as highly demanded in the related filed. There are three features in the proposed algorithms. Firstly, we have developed a powerful, non-iterative version of the optimiza- tion process for each frame. Secondly, more user interaction in the first frame is used to improve the Gaussian Mixture Model （GMM）. Thirdly, a robust algorithm for the follow- ing frame segmentation has been developed by reusing the previous GMM. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art video segmentation algorithm in terms of integration of time efficiency and seg- mentation quality.

Metalenses are expected to play an increasingly important role in miniaturized and integrated optical imaging components/systems.However,devising broadband achromatic metalenses with high focusing efficiencies is still quite challenging.In this work,we proposed an aperture-shared partition phase cooperative manipulation approach for designing a highefficiency broadband achromatic metalens composed of two concentric sub-metalenses.As a proof-of-concept,an achromatic polarization-independent metalens is successfully designed for the visible and near-infrared range from450 nm to 1400 nm with the focusing efficiency over 70% for the wavelength range of 600 nm to 1400 nm.The approach reported here provides a possibility for designing a high-performance metalens,which has great potential applications in integrated optics.

纳米材料的形貌可以影响其电化学性能,设计形貌和尺寸可控、导电性良好的金属氧化物纳米结构是将其应用于电化学超级电容器等储能器件的一个挑战。采用共沉淀法制备了不同聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)添加量的NiMn_(2)O_(4)电极材料,研究了表面活性剂PVP的添加量(0、0.2、0.4、0.8 g)对NiMn_(2)O_(4)微观形貌及电容性能的影响。结果表明:随着PVP添加量的增加,所制备的NiMn_(2)O_(4)的微观形貌由团聚的颗粒状变为疏松的团絮状和细粉末状。当PVP添加量为0.4 g时,NiMn_(2)O_(4)的电容性能最佳,在电流密度为1 A/g时比电容为1464 F/g。添加量为0.8 g时由于过量的PVP在清洗过程中容易造成残留,在电化学测试过程中,实际参与氧化还原反应的活性物质NiMn_(2)O_(4)的量相对减小,导致NiMn_(2)O_(4)-0.8的比电容降低,在电流密度为1 A/g时的比电容为1010 F/g。

本文在总结多龙矿集区地质特征的基础上,开展了矿山深边部的潜力分析,以期为下一步的找矿预测提供勘查思路。多龙斑岩-浅成低温热液型铜(金)矿集区位于西藏班公湖-怒江成矿带的北西侧,主要由铁格隆南超大型斑岩-浅成低温热液型铜(金)矿床,拿若大型斑岩-隐爆角砾岩筒型铜(金)矿床,多不杂、波龙、多不杂西大型斑岩型铜(金)矿床,尕尔勤、地堡那木岗高硫化浅成低温热液型铜(金)矿点组成,共探获铜资源量超过1500万t,伴生金超250 t,伴生银3900 t。多龙矿集区形成于早白垩世(120 Ma)班公湖-怒江洋盆北向俯冲的陆缘弧环境,物质源区为壳幔混合源,成矿岩浆岩主要为中酸性的闪长玢岩-花岗闪长斑岩-花岗斑岩系列,具有弧岩浆特征。俯冲板片的折返是多龙矿集区深部岩浆形成和侵位的主要动力学机制,成矿后安山质火山岩(110 Ma)的覆盖对矿床起到重要的保存作用。多不杂矿区F2逆断层将矿体分割成上、下两部分,下部分矿体是找矿的重点方向。铁格隆南矿区深钻揭露了由南向北的逆冲断层,该逆冲断层将矿体错断并推覆到“红层”沉积之上,其下盘是寻找另一半隐伏矿体的方向。尕尔勤矿区大面积发育指示浅成低温热液成矿系统的“硅帽”,明显富集Au、Ag、As、Sb、Bi、Cu等元素,Au、As、Sb、Hg等呈现较好的元素组合异常,具有寻找浅成低温热液型矿床的潜力。地堡那木岗矿区发育高硫化浅成低温热液型蚀变(高岭石化、地开石化、明矾石化等)和矿物组合(铜蓝、蓝辉铜矿、斑铜矿等),且物探、化探、遥感异常套合良好,是未来矿产勘查的重点。区内逆冲断层对矿床的改造作用是未来研究的重点,对进一步的勘查评价具有重要的指导意义。
