Material Composition of the Newly Discovered Zongzhuo Formation Sedimentary Mélange in the Dingri Area, Southern Tibet, and its Constraints on the Basin Controlling Dingri–Gamba Fault

The study of sedimentary mélanges holds pivotal importance in understanding orogenic processes and unveiling geodynamic mechanisms. In this study, we present findings on zircon U-Pb isotopes and whole-rock elemental data concerning the recently uncovered Zongzhuo Formation sedimentary mélanges within the Dingri area. Field observations reveal the predominant composition of the Zongzhuo Formation, characterized by a matrix of sandstone-mudstone mixed with sand-conglomerates within native blocks exhibiting soft sediment deformation. Moreover, exotic blocks originating from littoral–neritic seas display evidence of landslide deformation. Our study identifies the depositional environment of the Zongzhuo Formation in Dingri as a slope turbidite fan, with its provenance traced back to the passive continental margin. Notably, this contrasts with the Zongzhuo Formation found in the Jiangzi–Langkazi area. Based on existing data, we conclude that the Zongzhuo Formation in the Dingri area was influenced by the Dingri–Gamba fault and emerged within a fault basin of the passive continental margin due to Neo-Tethys oceanic subduction during the Late Cretaceous period. Its provenance can be attributed to the littoral–neritic sea of the northern Tethys Himalaya region. This study holds significant implications for understanding the tectonic evolution of Tethys Himalaya and for reevaluating the activity of the Dingri–Gamba fault, as it controls the active deposition of the Zongzhuo Formation.

Binder-induced ultrafast ■-intercalation toward a high-voltage,high-power and long-cycling zinc–graphite dual-ion battery

Metallic zinc is an ideal anode material owing to its high theoretical capacity (819 mAh·g-1),ecofriendliness,low cost and high safety,which have driven fast development of Zn-ion batteries （ZIBs）.However,the practical application of current ZIBs is significantly restricted by irregular dendrite growth of zinc anode and the low working voltage （usually3.V） of cathode ***,we report a high-voltage Zn-based dualion battery （DIB）,which is constructed by a graphite cathode,a Zn anode,and 3.M liPF6in the ethyl methyl carbonate （EMC） *** the corrosion interaction of li+ions,Zn{3.can be easily dissolved from Zn anode into the electrolyte to enable dendrite-free Zn{3.plating/stripping at the ***,an aqueous carboxymethyl cellulose （CMC） binder is employed to generate a robust cathode electrolyte interface （CEI） layer on the graphite cathode,which renders ultrafast PF6--de-/intercalation into *** resultant Zn–graphite DIB operates stably at a high cut off voltage of 3.{3.V,corresponding to an average output voltage of {3.{3.*** 9000cycles at 5C,the high capacity retention of 95.9% can be achieved with～100%Coulomb *** on the mass of cathode material,our Zn–graphite battery exhibits ultrafast rate capability （60 C,a discharge time of 44 s） and high energy/power densities ({3.8 Wh·kg-1at {3.4 W·kg-1;14{3.Wh·kg-1at 869{3.W·kg-1),which holds great promise for large-scale energy storage.

Coniopteris simplex is a common component in many Jurassic ***,due to morphological variations in sterile fronds and incomplete preservation of reproductive organs,its classification has been controversial for a long ***,we present new material collected from the Middle Jurassic yan’an Formation in the Ordos Basin,Inner *** new material reveals important morphological characters,including hemi-dimorphic fronds,two forms of sterile pinnae,short-stalked sori and sporangia on fertile fronds,annulus of sporangium composed of about 3. cells,in situ rounded triangular spores with protruded suture,and the lips of trilete laesura encircled by one or two rows of small *** on these observations,we emended the diagnosis of this common *** spatio-temporal distribution of Coniopteris simplex shows that the iconic species was restricted to the paleolatitudes ranging from 19.5°N to 48.9°N in the Northern Hemisphere during the Early—Late Jurassic,mainly distributed in the tropical to paratropical zones,and the paleolongitude ranging from 9.6°E to 12..3.E,which may be limited by the opening of the Viking Corridor and the splitting of the Central Atlantic Ocean.

Sheep were domesticated in the Fertile Crescent and then spread globally,where they have been encountering various environmental *** Tibetan sheep has adapted to high altitudes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau over the past 3.00 *** explore genomic variants associated with high-altitude adaptation in Tibetan sheep,we analyzed Illumina short-reads of 994 whole genomes representing∼60 sheep breeds/populations at varied altitudes,PacBio High fidelity(HiFi)reads of 13.breeds,and 96 transcriptomes from 12.sheep *** testing between the inhabited altitudes and 3.,2.8,967 variants was conducted to investigate the genetic architecture of altitude *** accurate HiFi reads were used to complement the current ovine reference assembly at the most significantly associatedβ-globin locus and to validate the presence of two haplotypes A and B among 13.sheep *** haplotype A carried two homologous gene clusters:(1)HBE1,HBE2.HBB-like,and HBBC,and(2.HBE1-like,HBE2.like,HBB-like,and HBB;while the haplotype B lacked the first *** high-altitude sheep showed highly frequent or nearly fixed haplotype A,while the low-altitude sheep dominated by haplotype *** further demonstrated that sheep with haplotype A had an increased hemoglobin–O2.affinity compared with those carrying haplotype *** highly associated genomic region contained the EGLN1 gene which showed varied expression between high-altitude and low-altitude *** results provide evidence that the rapid adaptive evolution of advantageous alleles play an important role in facilitating the environmental adaptation of Tibetan sheep.
