The conformational entropy S and free energy F were calculated by exact enumeration of polysilane chain up to 23 segments with excluded volume (EV) and long-range van der Waals (VW) interaction. A nonlinear relation between SEV+VW and chain length n was found though S-EV was found to vary linearly with n. We found that the second-order transition temperature of polysilane chain with VW interaction increases with the increase of chain length, while that of polysilane chain without VW interaction is chain length independent. Moreover, the free energies FEV+VW and F-EV are both linearly related with n, and FEV+VW < F-EV for all temperatures.

The conformational properties of a lattice self-avoiding polymer chain confined between two parallel impenetrable surfaces are simulated using Monte Carlo *** statistical conformation size of polymer can be scaled by polymer chain length N and distance D between two *** is nearly free at large scaled distance △= D/Nvb with v = 0.58 the scaling exponent and b = 1.42 mean bond *** it is squeezed along normal direction to surface at intermediate △,and at last it spreads out along surface at small △.For attractive surfaces,the chain is adsorbed at low *** small D,we find an abnormal temperature dependence of chain size due to chain adsorbed to both surfaces simultaneously.

BACKGROUND Small cell lung cancer(SCLC)is the most malignant type of lung *** in the latent period and early stage of the tumor,SCLC is prone to produce distant metastases with complex and diverse clinical *** is most closely related to paraneoplastic syndrome,and some cases present as paraneoplastic peripheral neuropathy(PPN).PPN in SCLC appears early,lacks specificity,and often occurs before diagnosis of the primary *** is easy to be misdiagnosed as a primary disease of the nervous system,leading to missed diagnosis and delayed diagnosis and *** SUMMARY This paper reports two cases of SCLC with limb weakness as the first *** first symptoms of one patient were rash,limb weakness,and abnormal *** patient was repeatedly referred to the hospital for limb weakness and rash for>1 year,during which time,treatment with hormones and immunosuppressants did not lead to significant improvement,and the condition gradually *** patient was later diagnosed with SCLC,and the dyskinesia did not worsen as the dermatomyositis improved after antineoplastic and hormone *** second case presented with limb numbness and weakness as the first symptom,but the patient did not pay attention to ***,the patient was diagnosed with SCLC after facial edema caused by tumor thrombus invading the ***,he was diagnosed with extensive SCLC and died 1 year after *** The two cases had PPN and abnormal electromyography,highlighting its correlation with early clinical indicators of SCLC.

BACKGROUND Primary squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the renal parenchyma is extremely rare,with only nine cases *** SUMMARY This study reports a 51-year-old man with primary SCC of the renal *** patient was admitted with recurrent dull pain and discomfort in the right lumbar region,which had worsened over 2 weeks,accompanied by painful gross *** antigen(SCCA)levels were elevated,and imaging revealed a renal mass with associated *** patient underwent laparoscopic unilateral nephrectomy and lymph node *** pathology confirmed highly differentiated SCC with necrosis in the right renal parenchyma,with negative renal pelvis and *** pathological stage was *** months after surgery,the tumor recurred with involvement of the liver,right psoas major muscle,and inferior vena *** patient refused chemotherapy and succumbed to the disease 6 months postoperatively due to disease *** We report a case of primary SCC of the renal parenchyma,a rare renal *** clinical symptoms,laboratory tests,and imaging findings are nonspecific,making accurate and timely diagnosis *** to the literature,for patients with renal calculi accompanied by a renal mass,elevated serum SCCA levels,and magnetic resonance imaging showing cystic or cystic-solid masses within the kidney with pseudocapsules and heterogeneous mild enhancement,the possibility of this disease should be considered.

The mechanical behavior of cemented gangue backfill materials（CGBMs） is closely related to particle size distribution（PSD）of aggregates and properties of cementitious ***,the true triaxial compression tests,CT scanning,SEM,and EDS tests were conducted on cemented gangue backfill samples（CGBSs） with various carbon nanotube concentrations(PCNT) that satisfied fractal theory for the PSD of *** mechanical properties,energy dissipations,and failure mechanisms of the CGBSs under true triaxial compression were systematically *** results indicate that appropriate carbon nanotubes（CNTs） effectively enhance the mechanical properties and energy dissipations of CGBSs through micropore filling and microcrack bridging,and the optimal effect appears at PCNTof 0.08wt%.Taking PSD fractal dimension（D） of 2.500 as an example,compared to that of CGBS without CNT,the peak strength（σp）,axial peak strain(ε1,p),elastic strain energy（Ue）,and dissipated energy（Ud） increased by 12.76%,29.60%,19.05%,and90.39%,***,excessive CNTs can reduce the mechanical properties of CGBSs due to CNT agglomeration, manifesting a decrease in ρp,ε1,p,and the volumetric strain increment（Δεv） when PCNTincreases from 0.08wt% to 0.12wt%.Moreover,the addition of CNTs improved the integrity of CGBS after macroscopic failure,and crack extension in CGBSs appeared in two modes:detour and pass through the *** σpand Udfirstly increase and then decrease with increasing D,and porosity shows the opposite *** ε1,pand Δεvare negatively correlated with D,and CGBS with D=2.150 has the maximum deformation parameters(ε1,p=0.05079,Δεv=0.01990) due to the frictional slip effect caused by coarse *** increasing D,the failure modes of CGBSs are sequentially manifested as oblique shear failure, "Y-shaped" shear failure,and conjugate shear failure.

One of most hotly debated topics concerning the Late Mesozoic evolution of Tethyan and the Tibetan Plateau is the timing of the closure of the Meso-Tethys ocean,which is represented by the Bangong-Nujiang suture *** Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous Shamuluo Formation,which unconformably overlies the older Mugagangri Group accretionary complex,provides important information on the closure of the Meso-Tethys *** paper precisely confines the depositional age of the Shamuluo Formation in the western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone,extending it from the Late Jurassic to the *** with the results of previous studies,we suggest that the Shamuluo Formation in the Awengco-Baerqiong region mainly contains a bathyal Berriasian-Hauterivian subunit and a shallow-marine Albian *** analysis indicates that the Berriasian-Hauterivian subunit was mainly derived from the Jurassic southern Qiangtang magmatic arc,while the Albian subunit was derived from the coeval volcanic rocks and the Upper Carboniferous-Upper Permian strata in the southern Qiangtang ***,the two subunits of the Shamuluo Formation have significant distinct sedimentary facies and provenances,indicating that they were deposited in different tectonic *** on the regional geological data,we suggest that the bathyal Berriasian-Hauterivian subunit and the shallow-marine Albian subunit of the Shamuluo Formation should be interpreted as a record of the oceanic arc-continent collision and the Lhasa-Qiangtang soft-collision,***,the closure time of the Meso-Tethys Ocean is at least limited to the Albian.

Effects of surface chemistry on energy levels or optical properties of semiconductor nanocrystals have attracted considerable attention and show great promise in broad ***,it remains challenging to controllably tune the photoluminescence(PL)of quantum dots(QDs)by manipulating surface ***,we investigated effects of the ligand,glutathione(GSH),on PL properties of near-infrared(NIR)Ag_(2)Se QDs by“on-surface”manipulation,that is,precisely manipulating the chelating group without dissociating the ligand from the *** anchoring of the amino group was found to be controlled by solution pH,whereas the binding of the thiol group to the Ag+was pH independent,maintaining the“on-surface”state of *** tuning the pH-controlled binding of amino groups,the energy level or the bandgap of Ag2Se QDs could be increased by up to 140 *** increased bandgap resulted in the blueshift of PL spectrum,which could be reversibly tuned by up to 75 *** pH-mediated tunable PL properties of QDs could also be extended to other nitrogen-containing pH-sensitive groups which could coordinate to the Ag+,not limited to the amino *** work would facilitate the study of nanocrystal surface chemistry and our model that the binding of amino groups affected energy levels of Ag2Se QDs might facilitate new insights into the electronic structure and energy level of other QD-ligand complexes.

A fractional frequency transmission system(FFTS)is a promising solution to offshore wind power integration,for which the hexagonal modular multilevel converter(Hexverter)is an attractive choice for power *** Hexverter has recently been proposed to directly connect two three-phase systems of different frequencies and voltage amplitudes,with only six branches in the FFTS in that *** paper examines for the first time the control scheme of the Hexverter when applied to offshore wind power integration via a ***,the frequency-decoupled mathematical model of the Hexverter is deduced by introducing the double dq *** the branch energy of the Hexverter is analyzed in detail and the reactive power constraint equation is *** corresponding control scheme is thoroughly discussed,including the inner loop current control,the outer loop voltage control in both grid-connected mode and passive mode,and a novel optimization method to minimize the circulating current in the ***,a simulation model of offshore wind power integration via a 4-terminal FFTS based on the Hexverter is built in MATALB/Simulink to verify the feasibility of Hexverter and the effectiveness of the control scheme proposed in this paper.
